  1. I wasn't making an issue of this, I was clearly pointing out that people need to be aware of how road noise tests are conducted are VERY different to EPA (At Events like this) and Race Track noise levels. Maybe we should stop educating people because facts might scare them... What do you think? As you had noted, the DBA meter is a fair distance from the gate, so it should be a non issue.
  2. Enough people here have seen me hungover at events to know that there is no way I should be even THINKING about driving a car when I'm hungover...
  3. You can't always confirm an event 12 months out. Bookings for this year for Wakie were done at the very end of December/Early this year IIRC.
  4. This was raised with Christian around 12 months ago now, we were told by him, the Events Section in the normal NSW area is not ours, it is the forums, and we can't stop people posting events. It would also annoy everyone here if we posted on another site to gain numbers and they removed our event...
  5. I'll probably be too hungover to wake up, yet alone drive. All depends on what happens on Friday night if I turn up at Wakie, yet alone enter. I'd like to, but making uber early hours in the morning might be pushing it... That and I need to redo my licence, and I really should be saving money for America and not spending it in Australia.
  6. I wouldn't be. Road noise tests are done at partial throttle holding a constant RPM. Full throttle = f**k loads louder. When some cars back off they can spike 10 - 15 DBA... The test of 95DBA at 30Metres that CAMS uses, is at full noise while the car is being driven on the circuit, and can be take at any point on the track, including when the car backfires. It will be the same at Sutton, the vehicle must ALWAYS be under 95DBA from 30 metres away via EPA stipulation. Not just when it is being slightly free revved in the car park.
  7. I like cruising down on my own... It's always funny when I slow down and slot in behind a skyline, proceeding to follow them for a few KMs... LOL
  8. No idea what track it was, but even my ass puckered up a bit when one of the guys exited a corner in a massive slide... And held it... They were only revving to a bit over 9K from what I was seeing. Around 9.5 IIRC.
  9. I was watching a NASCAR race the other day... 165MPH... Slowest corner on the track... Top speeds around 185MPH... Fucking NUTS!!!
  10. Ah okay. I'm tryin to find some time to come get that bumper etc, but no free weekends until late April. I'll call you later this week to try arrange collection.
  11. Brad when are you closing your doors to do your actual renos?
  12. Oh look, a black rectangle with fins an shit everywhere. The racecar pictured is more a triangle. That would be like saying a black top fuel dragster looks like the batmobile too. I'd liken it to a low riding trike. Looks nothing like the batmobile.
  13. Since when does it look like either the old or new batmobile?
  14. I don't know if Chris does anodizing, but I can't speak highly enough of the quality of work he does in powder coating. I've had him do a few bits and pieces for me now, and I have more to send to him.
  15. Everytime you mention beer, I think slim dusty!
  16. Seeing how you go at the qualifying events for "the biggest piss up" I'm not even going to challenge you...
  17. That machine, which I assume is an oxy torch for pipes looks AWESOME! Everything else is pretty darn cool, especially knowing how much you're going to shrink a pipe by!
  18. I gotta say... I like that new car... Looks cool. gts-4 dreamer: Isn't that pretty much the point to racing, find an edge and use it?
  19. But it looks freaking awesome! If I'm entered in the NSW ones I'm normally competing for times actually. Would be super interested to see what your courses are like.
  20. Because the commodores that were snapping timing chains do so much better in the Bathurst 12 hour...
  21. OM NOM NOMNOM NOM!
  22. I thought you didn't have to get trailers inspected Chubblet...
  23. Erm guys... This cruise has been and gone...
  24. So are I... It's okay, I've given them a reason to not flame you...
  25. I looked up driving from Wollongong to Perth after just driving to Melbourne and Back From Wollongong to Perth, I was looking at 36 hours of continuous driving IIRC. For Perth to Melb, it's 37 hours... So four days of driving if you do 8 hours a day. If you're the only driver, that's VERY tiring. You'll want to break it down, and take a whole week to drive there. And then a day or two to recover... Secondly fuel prices. I took my XR6T down and back with 4 adults, we were doing 8.5L/100KM pretty much. Seeing how it's 3,400KM there, and the same back, if you average my fuel economy, and get fuel at around $1.50 a litre, you're looking at $433 each way to drive it... (I think)... I run 98 or 95, and most of the time I was finding it at $1.60... (And I copped a bad tank of fuel that put economy out at 13L/100km!) So it can be expensive, but if you have multiple people, it's cheaper. But it can get VERY draining just driving... My trip to Melb was fine, went past very quickly... The return trip, I think I'd prefer chineese water torture...
