Sau:nsw Official Wakefield Trackday 2010 - Full
MBS206 replied to S13Deviat's topic in Events Archive
I'll be at the best western in the city centre. Prue, I think the "regular" thing that people have been talking of is going to the Workers Club. Oh, and the only thing I'll have to do is change the tyres over and clip the harness in... I can't remember any day that I haven't been up till midnight doing stuff to the car... -
I was speaking to a few guys that race and build cages... They say it can be a bad idea... What happens IF it comes loose? It's now in a spot that is easier for it to become a huge projectile...
-
Are you also one of the people that drive around with an illegal radar detector? Because if you are, then you're just admitting to being an intentional speeder that just doesn't want to get caught.
-
Have any of you guys passed one of the ones in Canberra? Cause I tell you what, you can nearly see the f**kers from space! If you can get caught by a mobile speed camera, then you're probably one of the morons who also misses 3x warning signs and then bitches like a little girl. I couldn't give a shit really, all they're using them for is to replace the police man hiding behind the bush with a radar gun. I've only been nailed by one of these once (And it was when I was on holidays and missed a speed zone change and he was hiding just inside the zone change). For these vans to work, they HAVE to visible from a distance as the radar is apart of the van, and so is the camera once you go past. So much easier to spot then the copper behind the bush (Which 95% of the time I've never had a hard time seeing!) Honestly, everyone hear is having a huge cry about nothing. Also, the story about the guy getting done with a missus and the caught case following, that was actually from a fixed speed camera which took photos of the front number plates and they forced the RTA to blur out peoples faces in the photos now. The old mobile speed cameras were used for YEARS, and they only stopped using them around 2-3 years ago (I know, because a work mate of mine lost his licence from the same mobile camera being in the same spot all the time and he was too stupid to realise "Oh, big white car on the footpath where there are no houses or business I'll keep speeding") So for those of you who have had your licences for 10+ years, did you ever get caught by mobile speed cameras for the first 7 of them? If No, then you have nothing to worry about now. Oh, and I never used to be an angel on the road, until I got down to 1 point remaining, and by god, now I am because my licence means so much to me!

Connect it to the one that is coming out of th eblock straight, just behind the engine mount. Mine is T'd in like Titans is. As said not ideal, but works. If you want to, tap it in to the sump. You WILL need it.
-
Where did you get it from? Does it make it PERFECTLY level? I've had one of mine have only a few degrees of tilt and it threw the belt off...
-
Spectators if they feel up to it can also pay $20 and go out with people that will let them in their cars. Obviously all passengers need a helmet and ankle to wrist and neck clothing.
-
DO WANT! Where from? How much? I'm over destroying knuckles when doing my gearbox/diff... I also am in need of a heap of tap and dies... And good drill pieces.

You must unload every single loose item and have the car track ready when you present at scruit. That includes if you want to run semi slicks or slicks, they should be bolted on. As to the person asking about turning upto scruit at 7:30. Feel free to start the line. The Scruitineers will be there at 8am. I advise being prepared for scruitineering at 8am. Ie don't arrive at the track at 8am, arrive at scruit at 8am once you've unpacked...

You can do it little Nicky!!!

I still have this, as someone is coming to look at it this weekend. If he doesn't take it, Reaper, you'll be able to make an offer on the front bar... But it will come attached to a whole car. (Or make an offer now on the whole thing)

I've got a very nice set of Repco ratchet spanners, 10mm, 12mm, 13mm, 14mm, 15mm, 17mm and 19mm... Absolutely excellent! I also have a full ratchet set from 8mm to 34mm and the same sizes in AF... I LOVE IT! Awesome quality (So far... And I give them abuse with 1M+ bars on them...) with a life time warranty...

Be very careful, check that the trailer has enough weight available to hold the r33!!!

89% of people 100% support... AWESOME!

The wreckers get called to take it on Monday, so get in quick!

You might need to read your road rules again but under 10 over is only one point. Secondly read the insurance thread, some people posted findings about speeding fines affecting premiums etc... Ps, the government gets no extra money off insurance companies then if you spend your money at a fish and chip shop...

I've bought cars at some steal prices and never had an issue with them not using it as the value.
-
The funny thing is, three years ago when they were everywhere no one cared, now that they've stopped using them and want to bring them back, it's a huge shame? And it will also free up police resources to do other jobs, which everyone keeps screaming the police should be doing... Yet now you're all crying that the police will be able to free up resources... And I think this will do good, I hope they put plenty of these out, I spend nearly every minute of the time I drive wishing there was a copper around... People are always speeding past me 10 and 20 kays over. I'm sick of these speeding morons!

Mobile speed cameras were still in use in Wollongong up until around 3 years ago. If you had your licence for 10 years, and drove the same way back then as you do now, and didn't get busted, you won't be getting busted all the time. The cameras sit in a huge f**k off car like a ford Station wagon normally. And it's usually a small blue sign located around 10 metres after the car saying "You've been checked" Seriously, it's not going to affect peoples behaviours so much, people are already moronic enough to sit 10 to 20 under the limit everywhere. Why will this change them now? Oh and after 6 months of people not getting busted they'll go back to speeding anyway.

GIO were palming it over to Just Cars for the Imports, and Shannons for the classics/veterans. To renew with "GIO" was going to cost me $3600, to then be palmed to JC. JC I think I'm on $1400 atm. Shannons wanted $4400... I would have loved to stay with GIO, but they shut up the custom car division.

And in my experience are a bunch of *Can't be said here* I had insurance with them, they were the only place to go near a 19YO in a relatively stock R33. Insured at $14 500, they want 3K a year. and in the region of that again if I claimed, no parking on the street (Or within 500metres of the house) etc etc etc, Really crappy conditions. The year later, I had an even better NCB, guess what, they now wanted $3 600 a year, dropped "agreed" value to $12 000, and put the excess up a couple of hundred also, and then stated that within 1000KM of my house I was not insured when parking over night etc) Left them, went to GIO, they were awesome, insured for $23K, from memory $1800 a year, and pretty affordable excess, then they stopped doing it moved to JC. No issues so far, I just made my excess high to get a $1400 a year premium. And Terry: That double in premium was what I was quoted, then again, it seems to be if you change operators on the phone your premium can shift a few hundred! And his house was basically the start of a really dodgy neighbourhood, I live the 2KM away on the "good" side. Oh and when I started with Famous, and GIO I had a perfect driving record and insurance record.

Do some reading on how much land mass is required to support australias demand for ethanol if we used e85 etc as our main fuel. Think about how little we use already and how much waste crop it is costing to produce...
