  1. In all honesty it was probably close to making a legit 200 - 210RWKW. If they did push fuel pressure up and really did make 230RWKW (Would likely want more boost though to do so) then you would have had a region where the AFM hit maximum, and a hell of a lot of fuel gets dumped in, your AFRs would drop lower, and by the time you reach redline you'd be at your wanted AFR
  2. 230KW is also out of AFM and I believe also injector duty, without dramatically raising the fuel pressure.
  3. Yep, stock ECU kills the midrange, but leaves the last 500RPM to make good peak power figure. But it's hugely noticeable on the road, and even more so when its graphed on the dyno how bad the mid range is.

I wasn't meaning to do it speeding, the first time up and over that mountain it can still be quick enough at 60KM/H (ANd keeping to your side of the road) that you hold your breath in a couple of places. Can't wait to do it at speed legally one day

Go do laps of the mountain Genelle, and then do some backwards!
  6. I'm talking all the hills on the F6 from Wollongong to Sydney, not just climbing Mt Ousley.on the BA manual, beware of redbook, not all of its figures are accurate. From memory when i was researching all manual ba-fg xr6t had a 1600kg towing limit. Clutch and box don't like the strain. also, i much prefer the having a lot heavier tow vehicle, just imagine what its like pulling up a 2.3t trailer with a 1.5t car when the trailer brakes fail. or even worse even if you're halfway around a bend and you need to slam the brakes, chances are bad enough of jack knifing with a 4WD, youre nearly guaranteed it in something like a falcon or commodore.
  7. I'm sorry but the falcon is a shit option. it has a performance cars gearbox in it that hates being loaded up extensively (like when pulling up a hill) i did a trip with empty car trailer from Wollongong to Sydney, loaded a 33GTST on, then back to Wollongong. With the trailer and car on it wont hold over 80kmh uphills (on the freeway) and it will want to boil the atf. That trip i averaged 25L/100km. And remember, half of it the trailer was empty! its definitely different on the flat, itll get up and cruise along, but the slightest hill and youre gone and i don't know that many freeways in aus that are perfectly flat. oh and 115k kms isn't many kays on an FG.
  8. Keep that ZF6 gearbox VERY well serviced, be prepared to use 3rd on the freeway and let speed drop (Don't force it to hold speed up hills) or you WILL be up for a very expensive gearbox rebuild. Also keep a check on diff and blade bushes to keep the rear end in check. Oh, and have fun with fuel usage...
  9. Coffee, one of the most disgusting things around!
  10. James (GrumbleBee) said he found a noticeable gain in front end grip when he fitted his. I'd say designed properly there are definite gains to be had. Designed poorly, well, you could end up with less downforce!
  11. The time limit is when the sills start to bend...
  12. Brakes only slow you down Ants, stop using them!
  13. That reminds me, I really should grab my Air Comp back out and set it up, I have an air ratchet sitting there that's probably going to help me a lot more than doing the ratchet by hand.
  14. ill see you at $75 and a packet of stolen minties (sorry Zeb!)
  15. The other version to this is: An eskimo is touring New Zealand when his rental car breaks down. He pulls into a service station where the attendant looks the car over and exlaims "It looks like you've blown a seal" to which the eskimo responds "Yeah, well at least I didn't f**k a sheep!"
  16. Not for the tool box... I've started hanging tools up in the garage though... Starting to look better Waiting to get a power adapter so I can get the new MIG welder out though
  17. Zeb, if youre not touching the turbo, i wouldn't bother with an ECU. No major gains especially when setting up for circuit. It would be different if you were running 14PSI at the drags, but even with a good tune, you don't want boost higher than the stock ecu can run when on the circuit, especially wakie during summer!!!
  18. Youre talking about the Select ECU, its not comparable to the E1280S both the select and the E1280S are current models
  19. I'm totally not made of money
  20. Forget a half cage if you're thinking about rallying, full cage is the only way you want to go. Get good harnesses, seat, helmet and a HANS device. What ever car you buy, buy two of them. Don't get anything with bigger than, or smaller than, a 15" wheel. Find something with VERY long shock movement. And lastly remember... Lots of fun! And Zeb the other reason that cordia didn't get off the ground is the engine fell out of it...
  21. Is it an old school cable driven speedo? If so, attach drill, enjoy.
  22. I hear round 3 is a Kat favourite style event that would be great for her and Dave to really open the legs up on their beasts!
