  1. I see you've learnt from uncle duncans experience... And proceeded to purchase all the spares before the demand goes through the roof
  2. You have a spare oil pump ready to go?
  3. Ah the ol' cruise control! Couldn't live with out it! And I'm doing the same sort of kays as Duncan is and I can't count the number of times it has saved my license (And no, I'm not illiterate you smart asses!) Will see how my new R33 goes on the drives to Canberra and may have to give ol' Nigel a call.
  4. Clean the IACV very thoroughly.
  5. No need to lighten it, it just needs a sensible suspension setup put in it. Softer rear shocks and springs, get rid of the epic camber, and run low 13s. PS: My 13.004 was on my first EVER run at the drags... But Pineapples, different shocks/springs, realign suspension, DONE. Go run flat 13s on same power.
  6. But than supercars would never be sold...
  7. The cliffs on that big thing above is don't bother reading it. It's at LEAST 4 years old and rubbish.
  8. I've never tried realigning it on a stock turbo, but on the aftermarket ones I've done it one, I never removed the rear housing, just loosen the locking mechanism and rotate it.
  9. And if I was that workshop and you asked the question after the fact, my explanation would be "Because that's the price you were quoted and agreed to" Ask the workshop to explain the price BEFORE you get the work done, not after the fact. I laugh at most of my clients who come in claiming they can get it else where cheaper... My normal response is "Well go on, do it". I then get to sit there and laugh when they stuff it all up as everyone else had mentioned earlier.
  10. The cost affective option is buy a second hand stock turbo as noted. To replace the wheel you will pay pretty much the same amount as you would to have it high flowed. No point rebuilding to standard, spend a couple of hundred $$ and buy a second hander instead.
  11. I do. And this car should be getting close to them IF Nick setups the rear suspension AND tyres. I'm in a heavier car, running 13.004 down the quarter at 106MPH. Nick ran originally 13.9@106MPH in a car that is way lighter than I am. Probably a smaller torque converter would help get this thing off the line easily, OR really really sticky rubber. Chasing more power is not going to help if you are already struggling to put power down at the half way mark...
  12. If you put an RB30E head on it, it'll also make a lot more power, and the police will never be able to tell it's been changed.
  13. We may know what they look like, but we don't know what yours look like, have they been painted and sanded back? Are there clear scratches in it? Is fading evident even though you're claiming 100% excellent condition? A picture says a thousand words.
  14. One what? I missed what he's missing?
  15. Now I'm very sad that this is being wrecked. Can't people just leave them in one piece instead of killing Skylines?!
  16. I'm not making judgement. I'm stating a FACT. The car is a GTS4, and it is being sold as a GTR. Now you bring AUTECH into this... Lets have a think about this... Autech is what? A Subsidiary of Nissan. IE, it is like HSV to Holden. What they badge their cars, is what they actually are... Autech 260RS = a factory vehicle. IE, Nissan may as well have just sold it as a Nissan 260RS. The big difference would be, the Autech could have any number of huge power modifications made to it by Autech, but that's classified as FACTORY. So when you go to get your insurance you list it as an Autech 260RS that is STANDARD. This car you would need to list as a Nissan Skyline GTS4 (Because that's what it is) and then list each and every modification, and make sure engineering covers each and every modification. I hope you can see the difference between calling a factory car a factory car, and calling a highly modified car a completely different model of car.
  17. Ask Neil how to make big flames... His are big enough you get in trouble for them being too loud at MDTC...
  18. only if he's trying to sell a GTR as a GTS4...
  19. no he's selling a Toyota Lexcen badged as a commodore...
  20. It may have a decent list of mods, but that doesn't increase the price of a car to buyers buy 40 to 50K
  21. $1.71? Seriously?! I paid yesterday $1.60 in remote NSW for 98!
  22. I'm in Melbs for a short break. f**k it's cold... Although will be in Canberra soon... Shit is even colder...
  23. I think I'll invest in a bean bag in my next property.
