Erm, no, no and no. N/A drifting isn't big and popular, super close, with the most angle (You can't get and hold angle without more power then an NA RB25 can produce), and most smoke IS popular, if it wasn't, then why is that what drifters are scored on? Secondly, you're showing you've never driven a car that can break in a power slide at 140+KM/H other wise you wouldn't be claiming any muppet can do it, high speed + angle = alot harder to control then sliding in second. Secondly, I grabbed the only skyline N/A drifting I could find on youtube quickly. And if my car doesn't go on a dyno it's going to cost me money how now? I'm unsure how not using a device that I have to pay to use (If I wanted to) will cost me money by not using it... To this guy, find me an NA RB25 that is producing 300HP... You do know that is around 225KW, IE, the region of 1Bar of boost + tuning on an RB25... IE, turbo power territory... IE, something a nicely powered car will produce... You're just helping us prove our point. Secondly, your claim is the stupid part. You're all here saying "Our cars are not slow, but we would buy a turbo car because it's fast but we can't legally... But our cars aren't slow... But we only bought these slow cars because we have to"... Are you lot even freaking listening to yourselves?!

Unneccasary but it looks wayyyyy better... Blazing fourth gear with more then 45 degrees angle looks way better then an N/A that's back in 2nd and if you're lucky 3rd (On a BIGGGGGG sweeping corner)Yup, I'll take big power. Plus, there really is nothing quite like unleashing 350+ RWKW... All you N/A owners may one day find that boyish like joy you get from spastically powered cars, when you start understanding that N/A skylines are slow...

Take it to WAS. Go see Kon, tell him Matt and Tristan sent you. As to the guy asking about 25/30s. He's fine with them, just as competent on them as any other motor. Mine was there but had been built wrong, Kon helped diagnose it all, had it fixed up and I left very happy.

Boz, unfortunately this one has been buried at the moment (Literally, you can't really get to it at all ). There are plans to resurrect it in the next few months, but I have another project sitting beside it I need to finish off first. As for the exhaust, at the moment it's looking like modified standard HSV manifolds, although that may change depending on what happens clearance wise when I raise the engine a bit to get the starter motor to clear the steering rack mount. Edit: I think I PM'd BadBen, but yes, the LS1 was purely a cost reasoning, and they still make enough power. With it completely stripped out how it is, it's an EXTREMELY light R33, putting more and more torque into it is just going to result in massive power skids. 5.7L will be plenty big enough with a full exhaust + cam + tune. As for the exhaust, depending on how loud it ends up at full noise, 30 metres from the side of the track, will depend on whether I leave it as a straight through dual 2.5" or whether I have to put a muffler on each.

Yeah, I figured it was the same car, looks very comprehensive that cage!I thought you might need to set things back a bit. I wish all the pedal boxes and what not didn't cost so damn much or I'd be doing them also!
-
Leesh, you might just have to fake it with him... It's been a while now...
-
What's the go with that car Brad? What's it being setup for? I also notice it appears the pedals will foul on the cage I'm guessing pedal box?
-
I already know what mine runs Mark... No room for improvement without new wheels. 13.005 from a bog stocker! (Except for a heavy ass set of 19s with shit rubber)
-
Now I know why you don't love me PS: I thought Elvis had left the building?
-
I read it, I'd be further up his ass if he was in the right lane and slowing down below the speed limit for no reason.

What you are told by the powers that be, and what is the actual law are to different things.Depending on circumstances (how hechecked etc) a good traffic lawyer (or any lawyer that can mount an argument!) would have this squashed purely from that piece of legislation, often though people aren't game enough to buck the system hard enough. Go and watch the video that's been posted in the import section and you'll start to see what I mean (caution it's a 50 minute video!)

Supercar on nankangs... I'm not sure if I like that idea, am concerned by it, or both...
-
What you need to do is take the truck on an extensive test drive to Melbourne and back. Sell the ute as is. Work on the March in the correct month.

Mark, read the cutout of the legislation that I posted. You can not be held liable for driving an unregistered vehicle if it is reasonable for you to assume the vehicle is registered. IE the owner said yes it is, but it really isn't. Don't worry about what is on the RTA website, read the actual legislation and it gives you all the conditions under which you can't be fined for driving an unregd vehicle.

I'll head up now. Still need to grab my crap I left at yours so I'll bring the trailer.

Another thought, is this only NSW scrappin the stickers? What happens when someone drives interstate if we're the only ones scrapping then? Legislation states that you have to abide by each states road and traffic act (yes, while rules went "national" each state still has varying rules) one of those is te displaying of rego labels. Doesn't this now mean that I can be fined in SA for example (if they still require labels) for not displaying a valid rego label?
-
That may be your responsibility, and now I borrow your car, you inform me it's all valid (and it is) three days later I still have your car but rego lapses, you forget about it and don't re register it. There is no law saying you have to cone and tell me (and therefore nothing to penalize you for) and it was reasonable for me to assume the car was still registered. The police can only fine you for things that are written into legislation.
-
I don't know how they can fine your mate in the scenario above. You were at a house and borrowed a car, is it not fair to assume the car was being "kept" at the house and was unregistered? There is no law forcing him to register it. The only way he could be fined is if he goes to drive the car home once you have been pulled over in it. If he gets it towed, no problem. The police need to prove he was driving it, just because a car and it's keys are easily accessible at another persons residence does not mean it has been driven knowingly unlawfully. For example my car had been trailered ages and ages ago to my mothers house, placed in the driveway, keys were on the side bench, car was in good condition, is it not fair for someone in your scenario above to assume it was registered? I feel borrowing someones car in your scenario above and finding out it is unregistered later you should not be able to be fined as it is reasonable to assume that car was registered.
-
Very keen to see this progress! I may even have to find a time when you're around on a Saturday and come for a looksee Brad!
-
Terry, if you let your rego lapse, you know. But now I come and borrow your car with lapsed rego and you go "oh yeah the wife would have paid it" isn't it reasonable for me to assume it's registered since unless I'm all like "woah woah woah! Hold up a minute lemme get on the Internet here..." but then, I may not have reception for my Internet etc etc.Hence, everyone go register the car in their partners name, you keep driving it, stop paying rego. It's reasonable to assume the car is registered since you don't own it
-
I have no idea who would be responsible, but the above is a C&P from the legislation website of the legislation currently in effect.Obviously the person who crashes would be responsible for the other car IMO, but they have an EXTREMELY good standpoint to getting out of the "I never knew it wasn't registered" clause.

Where did you last see your key?
