  1. Commissions, Steve?
  2. Yep... and some decent pads
  3. Yep, +1 for 5L. Just means you are very slightly over filling.... may account for the the amount that fills up in the dipstick once you turn the engine over. The dipstick is very readable if you check it first thing in the morning before starting the car.... as Craig said.
  4. If you are running out of puff, your air filter may be dirty and not letting enough air through... especially if it got a little dirty when it was wet. Try putting on the stock intake with a new filter or if your car only came with the Nismo option, just remove the pod and give it a squirt up the street. If you have power at high revs, you know it is the filter which will either need a proper clean or replacement... rebuild is probably jumping the gun a bit.
  5. Amsoil do a damn good air filter for our cars. Dry filter type too!
  6. CLICK HERE to see pics of what the translation looks like
  7. I assume it was white? That is Alex and I imagine he had a pearl blue front bar in the back
  8. Welcome. You will forget about your V8 Soarer in no time Yep, you will find a heap of info on these 'ere boards... A fair few have had the turbo replaced, it is something that you can expect to do at some time (usually around the 100-120,000km mark). Exhaust should be upgraded anyway on turbo car, but it depends on what exhaust is fitted. Mine was an extreme example of a restrictive exhaust and I think it is the one your are referencing. The stock, untouched front pipe is okay I suppose (bit small in diameter though), but you really would be better off getting a 3" turbo back exhaust as the dump pipe is massively restrictive. There are a couple of guys that are concerned about their transmissions and one has been rebuilt (damage is suspected to be caused at compliance when Dextron III fluid was used - USE ONLY NISSAN MATIC J or compatible fluid). I personally have no issue with my transmission and change the fluid once a year (originally used Matic J but am now using Nulon 100% Synthetic ATF which is compatible). An external transmission cooler will help (Repco stock the PWR items for around $110). Radiator can also be undersized depending on how you drive and where you are situated. Not really much else to be overly concerned with (off the top of my forgetful head).... just remember to post pics of your new M
  9. Nice Kevin! That is one of the kits I was contemplating buying years ago for mine
  10. Cheers Nick
  11. With a little luck... yes
  12. Denso Iridium IKH22. You will not find them in Australia unfortunately.
  13. He is welcome to have a look at mine... Can't drive it and the front won't look anything like it should as it is at the panel beater at the moment getting a face lift.
  14. Can do another group buy for irridium plugs... only prob is that there is a 10 weeks delay from when I order to when I receive them (then I gotta send 'em out) Can do if you guys want. Just be mindful of the above if interested. (I believe you were looking at some too Craig, yes?) If you are spending that kind of money on the oil, don't skimp on the filter. K&N oil filter (HP1006 I think) seems good, but I can certainly say that the Veruspeed NS004 and the Amsoil EA012 are damn good filters (Amsoil EAA74 air filter is also really good). Whilst I have used the NS004 for the past 40,000kms, you can't really go wrong with either. The fuel filter is the screen on the end of the pump. You won't find anything in the engine bay
  15. Silver S2 on Warrandyte Rd in Langwarrin at about 6:40 last night (headed towards Somerville). Nice example, anyone on here?
  16. Are you sure you don't want to leave it for another 7 months? No real need for hacksaws mate (a bit dramatic IMO ) It helps to look in fro the top but to reach in from the side (if your arms are long enough)
  17. Agreed.... but I would say that they BOTH knew the camera was on and it was a live feed. How else do you explain him opening up the largest pic then turning and staring straight down the barrel of the camera? Funny stuff! Good form
  18. As Gerry stated, only use damn good oil (why skimp on the life-blood of your engine?) Prevent the turbo from going? Just as possible as preventing a timing belt from going on another car I guess. The turbo was a dealer replacement item at around the 100,000km mark in Japan.... strangely.... and unfortunately. You can always "play" with a VQ35de powered PM35 Stagea, but your bang for buck per modification will not net you anywhere near the same gains. BUT, you don't have to worry about keeping a couple of grand in the bank for turbo replacement and you get better economy from the N/A 3.5
  19. Hi Suzie. Have you been to SSV to look at their Elgrand's? They are on the corner of Huntingdale Rd and Princes Hwy, Oakleigh East and may still have a few. They do mainly stock E50's, but have also had a few E51's through. I have either bought or organised 4 M35 Stagea's through Northshore Prestige as they are a pretty good dealership.... but they ARE in NSW. There are a couple of dealerships in Vic which are average, but from all accounts SSV are pretty good. Have you spoken to any import brokers yet? It will take a bit longer, but you may find a vehicle at auction that suits your needs a bit more than what is already over here. Lastly, don't limit your choice of dealerships to those in Vic. There are a number of GOOD dealerships around Australia that can/do ship cars interstate. Hope that helps.
  20. I think you mean passenger side cylinder closest to the firewall, yes?
  21. Hey Craig, isn't that you driving the #12 car in that clip?
