I would say that Craig's comp is 71mm or 76mm
-
It is not 76mm. 60mm would be about right. It is a GT30 turbine with a 60mm compressor
-
Yes. Good dry filter too.
-
Mine does have a little tiny bit of droning, but that is due to the 80mm kakimoto front pipe I have My mate's M35 has the Legalis with a stock dump & front pipe and you can hardly hear it in his cabin. It is probably the quietest free flowing 76mm cat-back you will ever hear. Put it this way, a lovely sound and a legitimate 88dB at a steady 3000rpm... how can you go wrong (looks good too) Ask your exhaust shop if they can make a free flowing 3" exhaust that puts out no more than 88dB.
-
Oh, I see... so Andy's word has more cred than mine, eh Buddy? Full kit (including OEM gasket, spacer, bolts, bracket extensions) is $300. No, I have not looked into it yet.
-
OEM air filter part number is AY120-NS001 Same as C34, Z33, V35, R34, S15, J31 (Maxima) etc Nice, easy replacement
-
No worries Andy, glad you like it. Nice to be able to keep up with accelerating traffic without boosting, eh?
-
That's what I wanted to hear Glenn, thanks for the impressions of the turbo Can I ask why your mechanic decided to go with ~60mm tube for the suction pipe instead of staying with 76mm all the way through?
-
Haven't driven a VQ25dd so I don't personally know. Will check "official" numbers tonight/tomorrow

What about buying a spare key off Yahoo Auctions? You would need to remove the actual key and get one cut to fit, but I seem to recall reading on here, somewhere, that the remote lock/unlock can be re-mated to your car.

+1. I did a bit of digging into this one as I am looking for a FMIC upgrade. Can't comment on the temp drop that each cooler performs, but regarding pressure drop (efficiency of the core - less is better) Blitz CS - roughly 1psi pressure loss at 20psi HDi - 0.2psi pressure loss at 20psi (claimed)

I think you mean "I'll get some photos of THE busted up turbo before I send it back to Andy", yes? 3500rpm sounds good. Just interested to see if there are 2 90degree bends in the intake or what he has done at the bottom. Turbo pics (basic pics taken, but you get the idea) Standard turbo GlennM35 highflow
-
Good stuff Glenn! Intake looks interesting.... can you get a pic of the back of it where it goes to the turbo by any chance? Have pics of your turbo if you want them (or want them posted). Happy to hear it does what you want. Peak boost is at what rpm? Nismo suspension eh? Nice isn't it!

Depends on how you drive.... but on the whole I would say there would be a significant different considering the VQ25dd is direct injection and runs a much higher compression than the VQ25det.
-
Glad you like it... but I don't find one thing appealing about that one and find it pretty hideous actually... although the wheels would look good on an MGB.

If you are talking aftermarket BOV's, then yes, I agree. OEM Nissan BOV? Different. How so? Well it has a small hole that is constantly bleeding air and bypassing the actual valve which aftermarket units do not have AFAIK. You cannot just take the tubing off an M35 BOV because it is constantly leaking air which will cause terrible fuel economy and stalling. I have been told that all Nissan BOV's have this "feature"

Nengun - Anyone Had Trouble Getting Parts?
iamhe77 replied to Munro's topic in General Automotive Discussion
+1 Maybe use Greenline or RHDJapan? I buy parts from RHD often and they are always prompt delivery (max has been 7 business days) -
Nope. Not the 4G63. Yes they do. I believe it is the 6A13.

Whilst the Liberty is a nice car, the model I liked at the time came with a higher price tag. The other issue stopping me from buying one is I have never really been a huge fan of Subaru's (just a personal thing).... Can't think of another turbo AWD wagon around the 20k mark that was AUS delivered. To (sorta) answer your question, it is not a price tag point. I am much more interested in the quality of the product, what goes into it and how suitable it is for what I will be using it for. No Logitech in my house and I think I only have 1 Nike T-shirt Can't really think of any brand name I would buy just to have/wear that brand name.... Nope, not one, and I actually did think about that one for a while. That's cool, didn't take it as an attack. Help me understand, what do you mean by "the people that truely don't care what peers think of them are literally the people you don't see"? Just because you are "seen" by others doesn't mean you have a need to be "seen". I do agree very much that a car is an extension of a persons personality. All the more reason for people to buy what they want and not what will make their peers jealous... unless or course, that is what gets them off. lol... Haircuts? nah, just get the Mrs to shave it as I just don't see the point of going to a hairdresser/barber.... Maybe I am missing something? My own morality. I am a pretty laid back guy and will tolerate a lot, but if I am given reason enough to punch my neighbour in the face, then a punch to the face he will get. I understand what you are saying with this example, Tom but the decision would be based on my perception of the situation and certainly not on what others may think. Cannot argue with your fact, but I feel that for the vast majority it is a shame that it is so. Having said that, there have always been "outcasts" which, in certain times were merely free thinkers/believers who bucked the ideals of the time. Without excessive peer influence, maybe there would have been more of this throughout history let alone in society today?
-
Can't say that I share that opinion Tom and I am pretty sure there are a few others that would also disagree. Now, I don't drive a Ferrari, Porsche, Maserati or the like and I couldn't give 2 ounces of bat shit what anyone thinks about my car. I bought my Stagea because I wanted a reasonably fun turbo charged car that is practical and has AWD. If I was interested in status, I would have bought an Autech 260RS as it is known as a "GTR Wagon". If I influenced by peer pressure, I would have bought an RB powered C34 Stagea. Turns out a bought my car because it suited my needs perfectly, I like how it looks and I much preferred the interior over the older models and Toyota Caldina. Maybe if less people were influenced by peer pressure or how others perceive them, society on the whole would be much more interesting.
-
Haven't got an AWD dyno? Couldn't be stuffed ripping out the front shaft and fuse to make it run in RWD? Don't stress! Just jack up the front of the car with two standard jacks to get the front wheels off the ground and start your power run! Can't possibly see anything going wrong here...

Thanks Rianto.

"So just wondering are the head units really that hard to install in m35's?" Bit of a pain, yes. G35ipod site helps (it, of course, was down when I did mine ) "Does chris rogers do gold coast installs?" I would imagine so, fire him a PM or call and find out
-
Hi Chris, Which direction do you push/pull it to? I assume the left side is "cracked" to the right and not "out" towards the passenger seat, yes? Does the left vent come with it or stay in place?
