  1. First point - I have something similar, but I think it has more to do with an increased idle (I foolishly cleaned the throttle body)... do you make sure that the car has stopped reversing before putting it in drive? If so, do you wait for it to get in gear before you accelerate? I have found that if you reverse. stop & put it in drive, then feel it get into gear before accelerating, there is no clunking. Second point - Like an exhaust brake on a truck? Third point - What do you need to change down into 1st gear for? 1st should really only be used to build up enough torque from a standstill to allow you to shift into second. The only time I can think of that you should be changing from 2nd to 1st is when you are sitting at an intersection or a red light etc (not moving). Two main things though.... 1. Get a transmission cooler on your car. Makes a massive difference to your transmission. 2. I found that the transmission runs much smoother with Nulon 100% synthetic transmission fluid than the Nissan Matic J. Maybe flush out the Matic J and chuck some Nulon in? If you want to stick with the Matic J, just ask Nissan to put their "transmission additive satchel" in your transmission. It should only cost ~$30 and makes a HUUUUGE difference when compared to using just the Matic J. EDIT: And as Eugene said, maybe put a high quality oil in your diffs? Redline lightweight shockproof is in mine now and has made a difference to idle reversing (no shudder)
  2. 2 bolts (or was it one?). pretty easy access.
  3. Spotted Silver coupe waiting to fill up at the Karingal Hub Mobil last night around 10:30. Wasn't sure if the dude in the passenger seat realised what I drove past in
  4. With no modification? Just a case of ripping off the OE intake and installing the Fisher intake? Maybe an hour or so
  5. Steeeeve.... 1. that is for a C34, so not really applicable for your car 2. did you search "M35 shift kit"? I guess not.
  6. Nice find Steve. Parts 1 & 3 could be quite interesting. Too bad about the ads though. Well if anyone is interested, I found this a while ago. It is a Valve Body Upgrade for the RE5R05A trans that our NM35's have. Details as per email exchange in October this year $1095 fitted (in VIC) or $795 changeover (yes you will have to ship your down here) Add and extra $245 for their temp sensor The valve body comes with 12 months unlimited km warranty "Would take about 2 hours to fit and service transmissions yourself. Not overly difficult depending on your skills with the tools. No Change to ECU required." Tests were "real life" tests performed on 4.8L Patrol's and also Z33 350z's
  7. Won't have the ARX until ~8th December. Can you push your tune back a little bit?
  8. Yeah, sorta, but only aesthetically... is still has the VQ25DD engine. Although there are some errors in it, here is an article with more pics (Yes, I know it has been posted before)
  9. A happy ending??? Great to hear Dale!
  10. Ok guys, so there has been a fair bit of interest in this thread and a few of you have spoken to me about them (and Scott too I assume)... .... but Scotty has (finally) decided to make the "Fisher mk2" suction pipe for you guys in and outside of Victoria! As you can see in this thread, the difference it made to Scotty's car was an additional 22kw at all four wheels (taken from RE Customs dyno) and you can read what difference it made with my car which has no aftermarket ECU or tuning earlier in this thread. Kits will be as pictured in post#1 and made up off a stock turbo/intake ARX or RS and will include; Lower half of pipe wrapped in ceramic heat wrap All Silicone joiners and stainless steel clamps Barbs in place for BOV return and breather hose Extension and clamps for BOV pipe Both turbo and airbox flanges welded onto pipe, ready to bolt up The only item that you will need is your stock Air Flow Sensor and air flow sensor pipe. You WILL need to cut 25mm from the flange end of the AFS pipe. The only other thing you will need is time to fit it. Kits are priced at $450 + shipping *** Please note that the intake kits will be made up off an M35 with stock turbo and stock airbox/intake, some modification may be required to fit your vehicle ***
  11. Most beautiful car ever built
  12. .... that wasn't angry driving mate. Sorry I scared you though, I thought you like going fast
  13. Yellow pages? I am sure she'd be happy with that
  14. Probably... maybe 2 more...
  15. Can get an ARX to maybe make up a jig?
  16. Been looking at this one. Do you play it with your missus too? Also, if the two of you are playing split screen, can you play with another couple of people via internet? (so 4 players, 2 PS3's)
  17. I knew you'd catch that one
  18. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the PE Kevlar belts from and how much?
  19. Nope. Only M35 or V35 seats are a straight bolt in. But it couldn't be that difficult to adapt them, could it?
  20. Mate driving my car without me in it? No chance. Only people that have driven mine without me in it are my wife (sparingly) and my Dad (I was driving the moving truck) Selected mates have driven the Stag when I am in it... but that is only because if they do something stupid or that I don't like, they are well within striking distance
  21. Yeah, Import Monster is pretty easy and their service is fantastic... I have gone through them for a heap of gear. Having said that, you can also look at Nengun, RHD's Yahoo Auctions sister site BidJDM or you can also get in contact with Jesse Streeter (I believe that he is "Streeter" on SAU). For large items, I would definitely go with Import Monster.... but and of the sites above will be ok for smaller stuff (some significantly cheaper than others).
  22. No problem with a 17mm spacer on a V35 in regards to the bonnet. My mate made himself one with no clearance issues. Couldn't go much bigger though. Dunno about the strut brace as he doesn't have one. If the whole idea is to get more air in, how could a larger one not be of greater benefit to a thinner spacer? With 5/16" being just under 8mm and 5/8" being just under 16mm there is a fair difference in the volume allowed in the plenum. Dunno if/how it changed his economy or what difference it made as I haven't been in his car enough... but he tells me that it changed the note of the engine slightly and has given it a bit more torque.
  23. Not bad indeed! I am seeing in our not too distant future a FMIC kit from the turbo to the throttle body...
  24. Good stuff mate! So the intake made 20+awkw difference? We knew it was restrictive, but bloody hell!!
