  1. Was thinking a fine bladed hacksaw would be the best bet... but those sharp edges Problem solved!!
  2. haha! I thought I typed that... must have just thought it. Big brakes would be no good with my wheels (LMX5 - 4-pot Brembos would probably fit, but nothing bigger), but my mates Work wheels (similar dimensions) are fine for 6-pot Endless calipers. So yes, definitely agree that the design of the wheel plays a more critical role.
  3. Indeed. The first time I drove it was in the Reece 1-tonner (no suspension + skinny wheels). Slightly misty. All good fun, with the exception being one blind, off-camber 90 degree corner which only has an old semi-guard rail to "stop" you from falling the 200m straight down... It was all fine until I hit the corrugations on that damn corner which made the whole ute jump left towards the rail! Thrilling sh*t... Never will be forgotten.
  4. Indeed... but trying to stay still while sitting on the M35's leather seats in another story! For those of us in Victoria, here is one of my favourite roads to drive (not much traffic either). It is quite a bit east of Melbourne, but worth it (you will know fear on a couple of corners if headed north from Korumburra - guaranteed ) You can also turn left at Ranceby for a more "sweeping" run, but it is just frustrating after Athlone (lots of straight and lost of speed limit)
  5. Those look pretty similar to my Nismo rims (18x7.5 +40) They will fit easily. The only way that they may cause a bit of difficulty is if you have big brakes on the front.
  6. Might as well start practicing then.
  7. AND the elderly in Magnas, of course Who said they had poor eye sight? There are quite a number of old racers that can most certainly still drive bloody well. Target old people with sub-woofers? Nah, just use them as attempted comedy for car insurance adds...
  8. lol... will be tuning in on Monday mate.
  9. Indeed. Did anyone else notice that it has a GTR sticker/badge just behind the front driver side wheel arch? Why?
  10. Nice man. I like it... ... too bad I love my M35.
  11. That was on a Nissan/Datsun Owners run... sorta (2 guys left the pack for a quick bolt up the road). Nobody was hurt. It was on a highway with no traffic... whatever.
  12. The problem with these hoon "laws" is that they are totally subjective. If the police feel that you are behaving like a hoon, they can take your car. there is many a night where Falcodore drivers try to write their names on estate roundabouts (and school ovals), but if you call the cops, all you get is a "thank you. We will look into it", but never do.
  13. You are aching for it aren't you
  14. 76mm is 3". I am after 80mm or 82mm. Yeah, a copy of the OE dump, just larger is what I am after... but since I have a larger front pipe, I figure I should make the most of it.
  15. Won't know until I get my suspension. Sorry mate. Dunno how much and I dunno when. Maybe check some of the wreckers in NSW, I believe there are a few M35's collecting dust up there.
  16. Hadn't noticed mate! In all seriousness though, can you see what the possibility of making up an 80mm or 82mm dump that fits on the standard exhaust is?
  17. I would say that they need to be adjusted to point forward more than down.
  18. I would say that is pretty good considering his age. I looked at an RZ Supra when I was 25 (rating 1 - no claims) and was quoted $3000 annually with a $1500 excess!
  19. Google Maps is your friend Looks like a fun drive (if a little harsh on the fuel the closer you get to Jindabyne)
  20. Dunno how much more air you would get in via a tube than the funnel gets into the airbox. You could try 76mm flexible intake tubing, but you still have to avoid the engine fan/fan shroud when looping it back the to airbox.
  21. Maybe have lost a tiny, tiny bit of free revving over 5000rpm. When I had the airbox panel off, the car revved up to redline effortlessly. Now, if you concentrate on it, you can tell it takes a touch longer to reach redline... but yes, it does feel a bit stronger (but much more "together") in up to 5k. hmm, will see if a larger diameter tube will make a difference above 5k. If not, Imay have to make an "Andy Powerduct" this weekend and see if I can have the best of both worlds.
  22. UPDATE! was just emailed this new mod that is next in line for those wanting performance on a budget!
  23. $15!!! Who do you think I am? Paul Allen?? Jeez man... Have thought about the powerduct or making one of my own, as you did, but never really got around to doing it (too lazy). Will be considered this weekend. Doubt it will end up as tidy as yours though mate.
  24. LOL... I have heard that before The tube is 40mm, but there is a ton of room there. I will probably be looking at 50mm or 65mm pond hose over the weekend, whichever fits on the outside of the airbox inlet so I can clamp it.
  25. "That's a nice looking M35 ARX mate...."
