M35 Stagea rear fog install / mph conversion
iamhe77 replied to gazman2's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
If you need an MPH speedo, look to the US for the 2005 G35 speedo. You can see below, the speedo is on the same side as in our 3.5L Stageas -
That is a modified Kenstyle EIK kit if I recall correctly...

Looks lovely and clean (love the foamer), do you also bucket wash after the foamer? However.... ... this (upon risk of opening a can of worms), this made me sad -
White R35 today in Narre Warren. TOZ (?), just happened to blip down a gear when next to my Stagea. Not sure if coincidence or a way of saying "hi" to a non-generic Nissan
-
That won't fit either AWD or RWD Stagea. It is made for the 350z and G35 coupe. We have a spare wheel well right where that rear section or piping is.

Can vouch for the Stillen. Mate of mine had it on his V35 and it was very quiet in-cabin whilst cruising on the freeway. Sound was nice under load and once he put his HKS turbo on, it sounded damn good. Plenty of Youtube clips with all of these options on G35's for (admittedly average quality) sound reference. You have a different Y-pipe to the RWD so if looking in the US, make sure you get one that is compatible with the G35x such as the Stillen.

Yes it ended up getting done. I do not know who you would contact now though. I chose not to bother because the way the leaf animates once the conversion is done was not to my liking (I always have the economy screen displaying, so this was important to me).
-
Would be very interested where you get with this as I would like nothing more than to do away with the terrible anchor point install that was done on my car. As an aside, anyone know how the Japanese child seats are installed? Do they use the "luggage" tiedown points or something else?

Only the heat exchanger in the radiator. You won't need a thermostat for a trans cooler. It takes a lot to run them too cold (an external PWR trans cooler and an external Mishimoto trans cooler without utilising the radiator will do it once the temp hits below 5 degrees - I say this from experience with my old NM35).

Uprev flash can be done

Interior looks more plush? Maybe I just watched the wrong Youtube clips, but it looks no better than an NM35 RS. The grey centre console actually reminded me of a Falcon design, but then Toyota aren't really renowned for nice interiors. You do know compliance is available for the Crown wagon with a 1JZ, yes?
-
The first and third links look to be for the VQ25det M35's whereas the second and fourth for the VQ35de M35's. NM35 viscous fan shroud does not fit on PM35 radiator as it is not wide enough. Get a cooling mod from Scott and a Nismo thermostat. Much more important than a larger radiator (assuming no cracks of course).

For what purpose? If you are referring to direct replacement, no. If you are wondering if it can be re-flashed like a 350z ECU, yes
-
Sounds about right, but what about the rest of the system?

Silver Axis with Nismo exhaust outside Langwarrin Woolies this arvo. Would have parked right next to you if I was in my car

I have this one: http://gromaudio.com/store/usb_adapters/nissan_usb_ipod_adapter_direct_digital_interface.html Yes, it came with installation instructions although you will need to get behind the stock head unit yourself (there are plenty of videos online of how to do this).

Grom audio http://gromaudio.com/store/all-nis02.html I have one running on my 2005 Stagea and whilst it has hands free BT (which no longer works), I only use it for charging my phone via the USB and running my iPod. Does the job, but is not as good as a decent headset replacement obviously.

I'm looking at M35s (VQ35) - Opinions sought.
iamhe77 replied to Steve85's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Off the top of my head, the only downsides I can think of to owning a PM35 would be a) insurance costs b) no turbo c) no AWD d) fuel economy (around 11L/100kms) Also, don't tow anything overly heavy (I see it has a towbar). They are not a strong towing car. These cars are genuinely great cars and aside from the above points (a & b), there is literally nothing I dislike about mine and it is great to be able to fit the wife, 2 kids (with car seats), 2 large dogs and luggage in comfortably. Have a look around the site for similar threads and also the following thread to reference what you can fit in these things: Coming from a Falcon Ute? Get it, love it. You won't look back. -
Rip your mounts? Are they rusted of something? Maybe a short strut with longer springs would put undue stress on the upper mounts but a matched spring/strut combo should be fine. Perhaps look at the Nismo's in the classifieds at the moment. Whilst I have never dealt with him before, Fatz seems reputable and a no-BS kind of guy, pretty sure if they are in poor condition he would say as much. Can confirm that S-Tunes are a very good setup - had them on my old NM35.
-
Why no interest in BC's or Nismo? I have Bilstein on mine, quite comfy especially considering the 245/40/19 tyres. Have you checked out the suspension thread? It was created quite a while ago, but most should still be available.
-
New BCM as his was stuffed. Quoted from his text message: "cost was $300 and something + fitting. Can't remember price, but wasn't too bad for fitting as it is all plug in shit and easy for them to program with consult" He had Ferntree Gull Nissan (VIC) do the lot. Maybe you need to find a competent Nissan dealership or at least a mech with access to consult?
-
Why not? Can you disprove that it is not possible? His video below is of the 3rd revision of his turbo (currently runs rev 4 IIRC), accelerate at ~10 secs and hits 100kph at ~14 seconds. So reasonably close. I believe he has also ironed out some kinks since then. I guess it is easier to state something is not possible (or try to find some random backup opinions to make you feel better) if you have been unable to achieve the same results. On a semi-related note, I can just imagine the kind of comments that were made on Facebook. I am sure they were informative and constructive...
