  1. Nah - the transfer case is a very low torque device, and if the car was strapped down with the fuse pulled, what would happen is the clutch packs would only get a little of the pressure they need (transfer clutch packs, that is) from the ATESSA actuator and the clutch packs wouldn't grip, just rub together at very high speed and it would fry them very hard. This in turn would put an absolute crapload of pressure on the torque converter as the tranny would have nowhere to offload the massive amount of torque. Kinda like what happens when people in a 2WD auto try to load up and "flash" the converter to do a burnout. Which, funnily enough, sounds exactly like what has happened
  2. yep, thats a big double PHAIL here too, and I wanted to see them
  3. You are actually not allowed to go down to the scalp. Something to do with health issues and liability... anywayz, my head is still farken freezing, and a 30 knot easterly on my walk to the train station this morning didn't help
  4. Plz excuse me whilst I quietly piss myself laughing. Lets get one thing straight. If you are at all worried about fuel economy, then don't look at a stagea. 1750kg+ wagon plus 2.5 lt boosted engine is NEVER going to give you good fuel economy, and if you have a read of the stagea section it is a topic that comes up again and again. Even when I first bought mine (RIP) I was a bit taken aback by how much fuel it used. Having said that though, they are an absolutely beautiful car to drive, the interiors are awesome, options available are endless, and the amount of car you get for your money is unsurpassed in this country IMO. If the wife is a factor, then rest assured because mine fell in love with the stagea from the moment we picked it up (fuel consumption nonwithstanding) and I am yet to meet a woman that doesn't love owning them. You also have almost the same amount of options as the skyline guys for mods, and we have members running up to and beyond 600hp at the hubs, so speed is really not an issue, and as mentioned before, the rice factor is only limited by your imagination (but DO check out Brycey's ride) Oh, and welcome!
  5. Nah, I needed youse guys to fark off so I could get some "dutch" courage into me and I mean "Dutch"
  6. Spotted on my front lawn on Saturday Yellow S2 with no seats in it (well, that what it looks like chuckie! LOL) Red S2 25tX Four - Still looking good Andrei! White S2 with Autech kit and huge farken bright yellow swaybars and a canon that would swallow my rotti (You ricer Sean!) All of which paled in comparison to the shining blue gemstone that is TEH PULSAR FURY!!!1!!!!!TY
  7. Well, as others on here will tell you from previous experience if you take the fuse out and try to tun it up on a 2wd dyno, you will completely fry the clutch packs in the tranfer case. As this is directly fixed to the side of the auto, I can only imagine bad things would ensue... Due to the large amount of loading on the std gearbox due to the atessa system, i find it pretty hard to believe that the auto wouldn't handle 300hp, but I may be wrong (hey, it happened once before ) but as with all things mechanical, this would depend entirely on previous service history.
  8. OK, after mucho translating I have finally figured it out. (big props to Thunderbolt for the link to a Spanish Hyundai Tiburon [!!!] forum for their 122 [!!!!!!!!] page discussion on this thing.) First off, i want to say that this would have to be the largest crock of shit I have ever experienced. The premise it works on, is when the inlet manifold is under pressure (closed throttle) the little jigger opens up and pressurises an internal cylinder, and then when the inlet manifold is under vacuum (WOT) it discharges the previously stored charge back into the intake manifold. Now, the theory behind it, at first glance, would support the claim of better cylinder filling etc.(although how this affects ignition is beyond me) but, looking at the size of the unit, I do not believe the capacity of it would be enough to make any noticeable difference at all. And then you have to start wondering about what sort of prolonged effect having extra air discharged into your manifold at random intervals with the AFM completely unaware of the changes.... (and if you have a SAFC then it would make tuning a fuggin nightmare)
  9. You mean bastard. How could you just sit back, and watch females losing what is very likely their pride and joy, and not post pics somewhere? I dunno, young blokes of today! *wanders off mumbling* Srlsy, yes it does all go to the same place, so good on ya dude. 11. Annnd on that note, I would just like to qualify that I did NOT buy this, and do not own it (or desire to) I just want to know what the hell it is and what it is supposed to do.
  12. Thanks for that... I have a feeling that it is along those lines, but I still want to know wtf is does and how it is supposed to do it...
  13. OK, this isn't a joke, I honestly have NFI what this is, what it does or how it works. I have found one on e-bay exactly the same, but a different brand, but the ad still doesn't say exactly what the hell it is http://cgi.ebay.com.my/M5-Micro-Kompressor...1QQcmdZViewItem Ideas anyone?

  16. In the world of car repairs, especially imports, that can also mean sweet FA. When the assesor looked at my stagea, after he had gotten off the phone (trying to work out what it was) he pretty much said "so, its an import eh?" Walked around it a couple of times, stuck his head under the front and said "nah, its a financial write off" and the funny thing was, he didn't even open the bonnet (front end hit, and there was bugger all damage to the inner guards and the chassis wasn't touched) Consequently, it is being repaired as we speak. (not by me though )
  17. paintball - but make the groom to be wear something like a hot pink veil over all his kit.
  18. If you are doing a stay-at-home type bbq and beer, with b00bies etc, then I can thoroughly recommend brewing the beer yourself at one of these brew on premises places. I used one last year for a bucks party and it went down a treat! Most places will hire you keg setups, and you just tell every one to bring their own mug - less clean up and you save on glass hire
  19. Not yet man, still waaaaaaaaaiting Its all good, I have faith in teh man.
  20. Well, if it makes you feel any better you can come and watch me install the swaybar to teh fury tomorrow afternoon (hopefully)
  21. I want one!!! Put me down for the second style John - but I have to ask, are we allowed to use the Nissan logo? Cause if we are, can I get the badge on the front just as you have done, and the nissan logo in the middle at the top on the back? Now, if you can maybe give us a hint as to how to pay for them?
