  1. Get it vin/fasted for sure. Could be just extra stealth with no rear wing & no badges but........................vin will be the decider. Buy Chef Stagea's Stag, before he sells it in bits. Cheaper & well looked after by all accounts. Plus....he will trade for a Jetski in part payment or tho how that will fit in a suitcase has not been revealed as yet. Maybe benevolent new employer? It remains to be seen. My 2c Cheers GW
  2. Have you checked out MASA Motorsports Japan? Need to be cashed up is all. The stuff you are after can be bought. Just insert $$$$$$$$$$ & wait for the postie. Cheers GW
  3. Time to go to autosparks methinks, if you do not have the tools etc., to do the extension yourself. Autospark jonnies may also be able to put you on to the correct battery for your application, physical dimensions, L x W x H, correct CCA, terminal orientation & so on. At the end of the day the last thing you want is a dodgy hot joint on either of your battery leads in a confined/enclosed space. Could get nasty. For the sake of $100 saved short term? My 2c Cheers GW Edit. PS: I love Battery World.
  4. ^^^ That'll work.
  5. Oyster Festival at Ceduna next stop? Yum! Cheers GW
  6. Since you've already done the legwork & named a workshop I was wondering if you would care to share? That is to say, post up the other workshops in the metro area who also perform this work? It could help others narrow down the search on the same path if you posted up who else you had found around town who were up for the task. No need to post estimates/quotes. Cheers GW
  7. Shut up Graham! No I can't help myself I'll explode if I don't write something. F#$Kit I've earned it I've read 35 pages of this debate. Dammit! So. Please define "engine" as the highly intelligent developement (no doubt about that) engineers would. Waits for the next 35 pages. Seeya
  8. Check out this thread. http://www.ehow.com/video_4941952_put-jack...er-vehicle.html Stay safe. GW
  9. So it's back to the speed pickup/sensor then or wiring harness further down the loom? Earthing for that cct/device? Doubt someone would just chop cores willy-nilly. (shudder to think what else has been done if that is the case) Substitution for known serviceable sensor. Like for like. Cheers GW
  10. ^^^ Yup. Me too. Previously complete blank regarding finer Wankel details. Thanks to all those people who combined in a positive way to sift the wheat from the chaff. Things I now know for sure from this discussion. 1. Wankel rotors spin a lot slower than I was led to believe. 2. There is a sound reason based on physics, for their capacity to produce hp & consume juice. 3. I did not learn this from reading Mazda brochures at the caryard. Cheers GW
  11. No doubt you've squirrelled through this lot? In DIY Stagea ecu blurb. Plenty of names to contact if info not on pdf. Cheers GW Quote < Hi guys as Darrin said there are at least 3 pin outs for series 1 W34 stageas. More details including how to identify by date and model code on ECU are in this thread: Looks like the earliest ones are a very close match to R34 GTT. >Unquote. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...S1-t205298.html PS: Not that this means anything but I have not seen any color coded diagrams, only numbered. Best thing to do in that case is bell out points of interest, 5, 23, 54. A/T input sig, Knock sensor, un-assigned. If you are looking for the following, on another diag I have; 38/Throttle sensor sig, 27/mass air flow sig, 7/tacho sensor sig. Or (your diag most likely.....R34) 5/Tacho drive sig, 23/Throttle position sensor sig, 54/mass airflow sensor sig. PPS: My R34 pinout diag shows minor divider between 22/23 also.
  12. You could try <www.importmonster.com.au> Aaron should be able to help you there. Cheers GW
  13. Bugger me. We finally have the answer. Those Wankels suck. Really hard! 3.9ltr worth per Wankel cycle. No wonder the little f@%kers go hard! And chew the gas? Terrific read, most informative. Thanks guys.
  14. ^^^ ( i work for a battery shop) Makes note. Thinks to self................Oddessy group buy.
  15. ^^^ Good call there. And.........old Holden rear mains practically leak from birth but don't seem to do much by way of degrading the clutch performance. My old ute don't seem to care one way or the other at least. See how it goes, if it is rear main & has only just started it probably isn't a major issue. Buy drip tray from supercrap for garage floor. Cheers GW
  16. Rear main seal?
  17. I did Brisbane ~ Kalgoorlie in late 2006. No probs with pumpgas then. Refuel points about 200 ~ 250kms apart so did not carry spare fuel. Car was complied & serviced immediately before the journey. Carried essential tools, drive belts, hoses & plugs. Main thing I focused on was making sure I was prepared for a flattie, (tyre plug kit) taking regular breaks & eating properly at truckstops to combat driver fatigue, driving sensibly (nobody gives a rats how long it took you, just so long as you made it in one piece) with my windscreen uppermost in my mind whenever roadtrains entered my comfort zone. Stray animals came a close second but you can sorta control that. (Driver sensibility & Brakes). Total road kill in 3500kms was one cocky & 1000 grasshoppers, saw plenty of wildlife but, including camels grazing the roadside out in "The Paddock". I made sure I was off the road camped somewhere comfortable before full dark. Car loved it, no flats or windscreen damage. Awesome trip, I had a ball. My 2c Happy travelling, GW PS: Forgot to add; carried enough water for radiator & me.
  18. For the record, I sent Maltech my front & rear standard (Brembo) brakelines off my 1998 S1 260RS about 2 years ago now as at that time 260RS was a bit rare or so it seemed. As I understand it Maltech already had the standard Nissan line patterns for RS4 series Stageas by then. So they should have the correct patterns/lengths for both RS4 & 260RS. Maybe give them a call & I would be telling them about your front hoses being a bit short at the same time. Regards GW
  19. Look for "bad electrical connection/dry cct board joint" or, your sender unit is dodgy. Try sender substitution to exclude. Very difficult for vacuum to be intermittent I would think. My 2c Cheers GW
  20. To me your question would need to be ; Do I want my missus fangin around in my pride & joy? I know I wouldn't. Best thing to do would be buy her something she can call her own to belt around the shopping mauls (sic) & buy yourself a prime mover for group outings which only you skipper. (260RS family express) My 2c Cheers GW
  21. +1. Great shot of my "whiteknuckle" driving, thanks heaps Levi. Btw, the fella who's Dad likes his (gotta be sold GTR)should work on the old man to buy it & keep car & son in family? Car for fun, son for detailing? Great drive with fellow appreciaters btw. Will do it again one day if permitted. (Haven't read the whole thread yet) Cheers GW PS: Detailer in my family gets to "blow dry" the hearse.
  22. Talk to Unique. He knows. Ref standard Autech, RB26 @ ~ 214awhp. Well mine was anyways. Probably worth spending some coin if you already have a beast with factory manual setup to start with, depends how keen you are really. Cheers GW
  23. Spotted Burkey22 on Boulder road, Goldfields WA around mid-day today, heading out of town to Kambalda. Waved but he was busy talking to passenger I think?
  24. If I ever bought another import to play with, for straight-out "balls & all" all round performance, it would have to be the EVO. TME 6.5, no question. Ride comfort would not really enter into the equation. My 2c GW
