  1. Has the S15 got harder suspension? I do believe they are a more 'fun' car than a Skyline. Just not as roomy. If you can call any Skyline coupe roomy.
  2. Don't go lower than $13k. A top series II R33 will fetch $17k, but most will be $15-$16k. Series 1 isn't as desirable as the series II so you have to factor this in. I'd say $13.5-$14k is a very reasonable price to be asking. Also, most ppl find examples that haven't been boosted, have aftermarket ecu's etc more desirable. Good luck. :PBJ:
  3. So these will fit on a R33 Skyline turbo no problem? I am interested but want to be sure.
  4. I'm not usually a fan of small cars, but I got to admit that looks sweet.
  5. You mean V-Power Racing? It's the only fuel I use in my R33. It seems to run the best with it. EDIT: There is a difference between V-Power & V-Power Racing. The former being 98 RON and the latter 100 RON. V-Power racing is not available at all Shell stations.
  6. Do you have any regrets not getting the S15?
  7. Yes. They are over-glorified. Now close this stupid thread someone please.
  8. I have a genuine wing too. Can sell for the right price.
  9. Actually ATM Tempe Tyres will do the Starcorp impul deep dish pack with new rubber for $1600. They gave me that price yesterday.
  10. Looks really good. Nice and clean!
  11. For a tune (oils, timing belt etc)& dyno, you can go to Kamikaze in Nunawading. For a proper dyno tune see Ben at Race Pace in Bayswater. BTW, all Jap imports run rich. Get a piggy back (SAFC) to lean this out somewhat.
  12. Pumped guards, bonnet, front bar, rear bar?, side skirts?, rear wing, different badges (hehe) that's about all I can think of.
  13. VTEC is designed for more output at hi rpm. This is the whole premise behind VTEC. It has NO guts down low. The illusion is that most Honda cars are so light and 1st & 2nd gearing is designed for good take off. VTEC has nothing to do with low rpm power whatsoever. Also, it is well known that Honda engines such as VTEC are designed to rev. That's where they get their power from. But you're arguing the point of VTEC vs RBDET, then comparing VTEC turbo against RBDET, both with mods. Only way to compare properly is stock vs stock.
  14. Comparing stock form cars, the JDM S15 is lighter, slightly quicker and more fun than any single turbo RWD Skyline. The RB engines are more torquey, but the Skylines are a much heavier car. The R34GTT is around 160-170kg heavier than the S15. Neither are practical everyday cars as the lack of back seat room is very obvious. Skylines are a bit more comfy so would be just that little bit nicer to drive. But you are after a car you can take down the track aswell. The S15 is slightly quicker and more nimble (chuckable), but the 6 speed box isn't the most desirable compared to the S14. I'd say the JDM S15 would edge out the 34 overall, but only just. So really, it's a choice of personal preference and which you think looks better. After driving a Rex, I'm sure you want something that looks a bit nicer.
  15. Can you not convert this to a manual?
  16. A bit thick to cut with a Stanley knife don't you think?
  17. As far as I'm aware there are 3 different types of blues for the R34. Dark navy blue (don't know the proper name), Bayside blue & GTR blue (again don't know if this is the proper name). What I'm interested to know is, is there a difference between Bayside blue & GTR blue? To me the GTR blue looks slightly darker than the Bayside. Anyone want to confirm this? Also, did Bayside blue only come on the series 1 GT-T? Or was it available throughout the whole production run?
  18. That looks awesome! I've got my series 1 panel, but I don't know what to cut the back out with. I'd like to cut out a perfect strip from end to end along the back and then re-seal it. Got any ideas on how to do this neatly?
  19. It looks like Gucci has done a makeover on the standard ones. As you know with fashion, it goes out very quick & you look back and say, "wtf was I thinking?"
  20. Don't you mean 2,500rpm?
  21. Yeah but with SAFC & PFC you can lean out the fuel, so expect better figures. Don't forget that Jap imports run very rich, partly due to the crap quality fuel we get here, thus the ecu being out of sync. New O2 sensor and fuel injector cleaner works wonders too.
  22. I meant a pick up and cash exchange (person to person).
  23. I'm pretty sure the R34 has VVT/VVL or something like this. I could be wrong. I thought it was to do with the whole NEO low emissions standards where the engine was to become more environmentally friendly, thus 'supposedly' more fuel efficient with the introduction of a VVT/VVL system(not sure of the exact name). NEO VVL is Nissan's version of VTEC. I have also heard that late R33 series II got some form of VVT? But I definately cannot confirm this. Maybe someone else can? EDIT: Just Googled & said the RB25DET does not have NEO VVL. Only SR16VE, SR20VE & SR20VET do.
  24. Please tell! :laughing-smiley-014: Yeah I was straining my eyes a bit reading that. Got any pics of how it turned out? Would be interesting to see.
