Steering Shake Over 100kph?
someonestolecc replied to Mr_G's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks for that I figured as much but was amazed I'd never noticed. I'll have to check that out -
SR20 mod is good. But yeah I reckon weight stripping, boost controller and some tuning (eg pineapples etc) especially on the rear is enough. That would be in my list of things to do with a rb20 cef on a budget. If you wanted to go a step up with the supporting mods you could go the rb25 t3 turbo...

For some of the people in this post who didn't get what I was saying- - it's not a fault. all buses do it of certain make(s) do it. - i didn't say it was necessarily a bov used for turbos. it is air escaping so it's "blowing off" in some form or another. personally i think it's the door/brake pneumatics. - it hurt my ear and I want to sue the government (not serious) so what would i do? why isn't this noise pollution? (does anyone know if it's just accepted or 'enshrined' in law somewhere?) Thanks ... ps. SIK WLEH BROTEC comes to the rescue.. PM me for a good price.

Forbes Sexiest Cars Of 2006
someonestolecc replied to someonestolecc's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yeah forbes photo thingies are LAME but yeah you can hit stop or do the url trick (nice tip!). The descriptions and the headings are the best though I reckon they're smoking crack while writing them... yet still maintain relevance. -
3.5-4k for a rb20 replaced and dropped in?

Thud Noise From Rear When Shifting!
someonestolecc replied to GBLOCK's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Is it possible someone changed the diff centre to something a bit tougher than the stocker? if it's mechanical it'll do that. -
So I was walking down George St at lunch today and a bus pulls up near me and PSSSSHT. I was less than 1m than the bus... so 2 questions come to mind. a. why dont they get defected? (and this is PURELY rhetorical so dont up shit about this) b. why can't I sue them for hurting my ear? ... anyone wanna take my case on?

Nankangs On A Gtr
someonestolecc replied to TBee's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Nankangs are great for drift ... heheh I've seen lots of cefiros with them. I used them on the front with some smaller wheels/tyres on the back. I must say they got chewed but seemed to perform ok otherwise. I'd definately use them on any car that gets taken on drift outtings - they were predictable and I didn't feel guilty using them harshly. Wouldn't put em on a skyline but I'd put them onto the cefiro again if I was short of cash.. they're definately a shit tyre so I just wouldn't expect to be beating civics through bends. -
Bf Goodrich G-force Sport
someonestolecc replied to predator's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Isn't the hankook about $170-180 ?? I'd be saving the $50/tyre and getting that in the price range. Then again I don't much care for tyres on the cefiro... -
Steering Shake Over 100kph?
someonestolecc replied to Mr_G's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
This is going to a very stupid question then... I've pulled my wheels on and off and put others on etc and never noticed any other guides etc... I've never noticed anything that would go over the hub to centre it/support it... What gives? I'm lost. -
Gday, Just picked up 2 continental sport contact II's for my car (235/45/18) and wondering if anyone had used them and where they stand in terms of grip and wear compared to other benchmark-ish tyres? As far as I know it's a mid-high range street tyre? What would be a rough retail on these? How would they last a track day compared to say a semi? Thanks.

About The $28 Boost Controller
someonestolecc replied to 123456's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Cheapie gauges are cool too the $35 autogauge ones lots of people on a budget use... shit I even know people who use kmart gauges hehe alex_r33 you're better putting oil temp, water temp or oil pressure if you want something useful but if your car is a stocker and you don't go to track days and the like you're better off not gauge mounting and mount the boost gauge somewhere else and leave it at that. Anything else is a waste of money imo. I wouldn't even both with anything other than a boost gauge on a stock non track driven car. -

AB49... white 34 wing driving across the bridge on Mon or Tue.. TOUGH looking ride (as in "ride", not ride=car). 34 GTR white stock looking autostyle sticker on the back driving on warringah road in the morning yesterday... Whoa. -
Shit yeah. Is that thing still for sale Roy? Is it in Mel or Syd? Race/Rally rego? What is the deal with log books do you need to keep updating them to keep race/rally rego? Do you need a CAMS license to own it/register it? I would have said a cheap built s13 for sure. Parts easy, easy to get power, easy not to kill in stock form. Just throw in some suspension bolt ons of choice, a diff, a seat, harness and away you go... I'd love to do that for a drift/road rally car but I don't have the money to get a car like that let alone swap suspension and change settings between drifting and stuff I'd like to do later in life like dutton/targa etc etc On the bright side by the time I can afford it I'll be able to enter a silvia or cefiro into historic

I've had my Bride engineered so it's possible to engineer something that it complies with ADR. Not like some coppers is gonna know not to defect you cos there's an ADR sticker on it.. You're better off with an engineers imo.

Spotted ranicx's car being jacked up to have it's wheels stolen by me and him haha (good on ya man!!) Had a 'look of recognition' from someone here but didn't have time to wave - if anyone saw me in the cefiro that was prolly you. On Link Rd on Saturday... Spotted a couple of 34's over the weekend too... One in a Neutral Bay servo looking suspiciously like Adams car
