Air con... air con... Not sure about that one... is there something you un plugged say from a manifold or something that might be causing it to loose vacuum? I'm not sure if the air con would even be hooked up to something like that but it's possible? Is it blowing black smoke? - Check if the car is in limp mode - pull out the ecu and see if there is a red light. If there is it's limp so it'd be running hell rich. - Check the AFM is still plugged in - who knows maybe pulling the air con tube out you dis-lodged it. Have you changed the spark plugs? The fuel in there would have gone off. Hope you weren't punting too hard...

Ando. Bugger. Sell all your communist shit and get a SR20. Do NOT rebuild the rb20 for the cef - what a waste of time. SR, 25 or 25/30 are your only options Neo not worth it, plus more people are running around with the non-neo rb25 so spares that are different between the two engines will be easier to source. Just remember if you're going to get a half cut there's no guarantees that the rb25 won't go pop - so that'd be my worry. I kinda knew one day this would be happening when you bought that car but I just figured it would be earlier than now.. I think you've done well to have the engine start/run this far I vote for rb25 if you wanna keep your bits. It's a well proven setup and you can checkout dave's car if he's keen to see where stuff is should you need it. Run around even with the stock turbo and boost up I reckon you'll be laughin.. Otherwise stock rb30 head, I think without forgies and stuff people run 250rwkw easy and there should truckloads of torque. Good drifting - well worth to checkout I reckon. Look through Cubes'/Joel's pdf file. Let us know what ya end up doin .. when ya know where ya gonna build it lemme know I'll come around and help ya dissassemble

Looking at km's is for old people and people who are buying/selling cars that are 3 years old which have nothing wrong with them (so you look at the k's to make the assessment). The reality is while a 100,000km engine won't be as good as a 1000km engine, a a 50,000km engine could be worse than a 100,000km engine just by the way it's been looked after. You should get a compression/leak down test - then you'll know for sure.

Good point, maybe an engine dampner + some stiffer gearbox mounts?

Nope - seemed to fall through, worst part is I already told 2 other people I had a buyer for it

I thought for a NA there'd be no point upgrading the afm?

List Of Bov Sounds Possible?
someonestolecc replied to R34NRG's topic in General Automotive Discussion
lol Let's take what is known as a sports car, then make it LOOK fast but forget how fast or how well it actually goes. Makes sense... atleast on the skylines forum we get less than say the hot4s or boost forums. -

Used Gearboxes
someonestolecc replied to FATGTS-R's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
It's impossible to tell without opening. Unless you can open it yourself and don't mind putting it back together with the parts you need to buy new then you can do that. My theory is if you're paying someone to open it you may as well just have it rebuilt. Unfortunately it's a bit of a gamble. -
4 Wheel Alignment

I think SydneyKid has recommended heasmans which is in st george is it not? Some places charge like $40 to do just camber. Make sure they do everything, toe, camber, castor blah blah and balance. -

What Clutch Do You Guys Recommend?
someonestolecc replied to taiphan's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
God damn. Exedy cheaper than exedy? That's news to me. For $1000 you can have an xtreme clutch. They're like $400!! I have a 9puk cerametalic whatever with 860kg pressure plate. Pulling 200rwkw, goes fine, would buy one again. -
Did he advertise it in good working condition? If you have the ad on paper somewhere that he did then use that in small claims court (or other legal avenue). Otherwise if it was sold in as is condition then you're screwed.

Can A31 Ceffy Keep Up Behind Or Win Bmw M3/m5?
someonestolecc replied to stormlcc's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
5000rpm in 5th (s13 engine and gbox) with my car has been done. I'm not sure how fast that is but at that speed with foot fully off the accel it took 7 seconds or so for the speedo to get back to 180. Done without a wing. So with a huge wing, some racing decals and better tyres I don't see why a cef can't do 300kmh. I'd prefer to be in the BMW though.. Just something inherently safer about a german made car designed from the factory to test the limits of human terminal speed courage/stupidity -
Removing Rubber From Concrete
someonestolecc replied to Timd's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Be mindful with whatever you're using that it's possible that anything that would dissolve the rubber by making it softer is likely to sink into the concrete (especially if it's really porous). Obviously if whatever you're using eats all of it away that's fine, but sometimes chemicals tend to do a half assed job. -
You get a personal loan then spend it on whatever you want. Car loans are like mortgages. They won't accept imports because they won't want to sell them. Personal loans are not guaranteed, so attract a higher rate of interest but you get to do what you like with the cash. If you can't sort out a cheap rate for yourself you should probably not sign anything yourself and ask your parents to help you... (assuming they know how to shop around)

Sorry - People in Australia can't drive for shit. Take a trip up the freeway. It turns into 3-4 lanes and you get people sitting on the same speed in all lanes, oblivious to anyone around or behind them. You get a 2 lane freeway, same thing, everyone ignores the stay left unless overtaking. On top of that you get people who are too nice. The ones that confuse everyone else because they wave you through even though they have the right of way.. Then they change their minds 1 second later when the other person doesn't go and everyone ends up going at the same time. People in Aus can't drive - end of story.
