  1. lol. you a funny man.
  2. seriously think about switching to a DV cam mate. HDD cams and DVD cams are no good for track use. the constant vibration and knocks and bumps will destroy your camera HD. DV cam is the cheapest most reliable option for motorsport, unless you look at solid state memory like the SD of CF AV recorders (like the one trent posted) that take input from a small external camera.
  3. yeah no worried big fella. do you need the DV cam to go with it too? I don't need it atm. and in my 32 on the cage it's wide enough to see steering, and gear changes.
  4. if the turbos say AR60 on the front and have 0.64 on the rear then they are the larger N1 turbos. should be fine for 300rwkw, maybe more. just depends how much boost you are going to run?

    Big Ask....

can I just say, how bloody good is devcon?! I have seen a cracked block repaired with devcon that then survived laps around phillip island! (it was on a mini though, but still). magic stuff.
  6. *sigh. personal import will always be an option regardless of what nissan do or don't do. it is the low volume SEVS import method which has a question mark over it.
  7. that's all well and good, but it's not up to CAMS, it's up to DOTARS. they issue the VIA. so I would be asking them as what they tell you is the only answer that matters.
  8. you don't need to do an emissions test for rego. if you have your car, and it's registered now. and you buy that engine. get it fitted, get a blue slip noting the change of engine number. bob's your uncle. done.
  9. they changed their name to reimax now. not sure of anyone in aus retailing their gear but if you can use google you can find them!
  10. lol, I get laughed at anyway! and yes, forgot the "-" gomenesai. as for the kanji for Goushuu sorry I don't know it. one of the more learned amongst us can tell you I'm sure. that is if there is kanji for it.
  11. yes, of course it can. it's just a lightly modified RB26. you would need a blue slip for the engine number change but that's it (in NSW at least). whether or not you could pass an emissions test with the cames it has is another story. I don't know if it could or couldn't
  12. it's only a problem time wise. they have fairly short braking distances at times and when you come steaming into a 2nd gear corner in 4th or 5th you don't want to be rowing through the box whilst trying to steer the thing and pull it up. it's not a big deal, but that is probably the one advantage H pattern boxes have. you can pick any gear any time. watch some footage of the H patter guys. you will see often downshifts of 4th to second, or 5th to 3rd etc.
  13. o-sutoraria is more common in my experience. and it's written in katakana. オストラリア
  14. from what people who have used the different types tell me the tomei one is the favourite, but it's about $400 more than the Jun one. most people use the jun one cause it's cheap. well relatively.
  15. reinik. engineering arm of nismo. used to build group A and super GT motors. though thinking about it, if you spent say $300 on the N1 pump from nissan, and $600 on the gears, then you are at Jun Pump money.
  16. use the N1. it's only failing is the odd catastrophic pump gear failure. i assumed you are using a 33 GTR crank, or at least a 32 GTR crank with a collar fitted? if so then don't worry about it too much. but if you really want to make it good buy the reinik pump gears it's much, much stronger than the N1 gears. cost about $600.
  17. I wish I knew
  18. they are using the same boxes as last year, but now some teams run a shift adapter thingamy to convert the H pattern to sequential style. good idea. the only real downside is you need to downshift through every gear. on the upside no chance of mishifts any more. well not through human error anyway.
  19. Nice work Mark! Good to see the white beast is treating you well mate. you still enjoying it on track more than the silvia?
  20. that sucks mate. it looks like from the pics you have no alarm and hence no insurance either. bummer.
  21. vehicle grading is only for auctions for starters (so private cars and dealer cars wont have one). and basically by anyone smart it's only used as a guide to decide which cars are even worth looking at in person. never bid on or buy a car based only on the auction grading. any auction car needs a physical inspection. I have looked at cars in person that were 4 or 4.5 graded and they were rubbish. and I have seen some 4s that were awesome. a lot of stuff gets missed though. they don't bother too much with engine condition, underbody condition, brakes, suspension etc.
  22. Gold!
  23. nice, adz one is pretty trick. I use this one: http://www.rivergate5speed.com/vs_camera_mount.html it's billet alluminium, very strong and works pretty well. it wouldn't pass for door to door racing, but I've never had a problem with scrutineering at any CAMS run supersprints i've attended with it.
  24. standard valve clearances. don't have them off the top of my head, but if you search RB26 valve clearance I'm sure it will come up.
  25. haha, yes I know. the first one I ordered in november was delivered in feb. the one I ordered in december is due in april.
