  1. yeah I never knew the universally accepted measure of forces was 'torques'. thanks clarkson you spanner head. also, I just read it will be jason plato driving the R35 on 5th gear. bummer I would really have liked to see what Tiff thought of it.
  2. yeah she is a far better looking chick than james may that's for sure.... lol.
  3. when your 1 week spamming ban ends post a price for your number plates in this one remaining thread, or it too will be closed just like all the others your started.
  4. fark, I hope we can watch underbelly on the TV there. I reckon duncan will man up and come this time too. I'd like to have a beer with duncan. cause duncan's me mate.
  5. they can't be a 265 wheel mate. wheel width is universally measured in inches.
  6. agreed! and thanks for the background. I knew Tiff had been doing it for year, I just assumed it was the other way 'round clarkson has his good points, but Tiff is hard to beat. His enthusiasm for everything is just infectious
  7. yep, I'm definitely feeling the KPGC10 front end conversion. will never happen, but it does look cool!
  8. I thought top gear took after 5th gear? either way as much as I love Tiff 5th gear really has gone down hill lately, where as top gear get better and better. should be a good show though.
  9. well if we want to be technical neither does melbourne. they run the F1 on a road course. no reason why sydney couldn't do the same. but if anything our state government is even more packed full of weiners so I can't see it coming to sydney. looks like we have 2 more melbourne GPs to go
  10. to be honest if I was looking to buy an R32 GTR my budget would be $30-35K. Sure you can get a fairly clean GTR for $25K, BUT for $30K you can get a car literally twice as good. with maybe $50K worth of bits on it and one that is treated right. generally people in financial trouble will sell their cars cheap. the problem with that is the very fact that they need to sell in a hurry often means they probably didn't have the cash to buy the best of everything for the car. owners without this problem will generally ask a higher price, but are prepared to wait and get it. but they will most often have bought the best of everything for their car. That is the kind of owner you want to buy from. edit: unless you are after just a very stock example. $25K should see you in a fairly decent one no problem.
  11. I haven't played okami for ages. have you run it on PS3? I might break it out and see how it runs. nearly all my PS2 games run well, but scarface was rubbish. frame rate was ridiculous. like 2 frames per minute!
  12. that is what shits me about CRDs sheets. they always use such a wide AFR scale that everything just looks flat. I mean seriously is there any reason they need to have 2.5:1 to 22.5:1 AFR on there? I would love to see the same graph but with a more sensible scale for the AFR. maybe 8:1 to 18:1 or similar.
  13. Yeah I thought we were just here to talk crap about big brakes! I liked the endless 16 piston ones I saw about 3 years ago when they came out. also saw some cool Group A brakes at fuji speedway in november. Carbon rotors (about 380mm) and carbon pads of course. sadly for AP that made the gear the rules were amended to outlaw Carbon brakes in Group, so they have a shitload left over if anyone wants some. from memory they said each rotor cost about $5,000. They also used titanium pistons in their calipers which was pretty cool. and all of the above is absolutely useless for anything really, but they sure are cool. we already have plenty of serious threads on brakes. this is a non-serious thread, about serious brakes.
  14. D'oh! I didn't know that. I think their one may be FRP though? They said this was the first Carbon SL-R wide body to be exported to Aus (though perhaps they didn't know where the GT Auto one was heading when it was made/sold).
  15. It's going to be a cool looking car. and it's the first in aus to have the sun-line wide body, and the first to have the kagotani bar and diffuser. forgot one part. this for the wing: It's nothing without the flap!
  16. Ok the new body work will look like this: we have: it all starts with this guy. he makes this bumper: with these carbon carnards: Put this diffuser underneath: Then add wide guards front and rear (in Carbon) and matching side skirts from Sun Line. front guards: Side Skirts: Rear Guards: Overall picture this. but instead of a C-west bumper, put the kagotani one on there. Then garnish with some craft square carbon mirrors. and a C-West GT wing I can't wait to see it all together. It's going to be something else!
  17. Actually I think we need a new thread. "Mark and Russ's Super R34 Build Up"
  18. So Russ are you going to reveal plans for the body work? hehe. or can I?!? It's certainly going to be a one off in Aus that's for sure.
  19. awesome. may i ask how you know? even the butt monkey at EB games told me it would be, but I don't necessarily expect them to know what they are talking about.
  20. lol, you arse monkeys. who would want a stupid bloody toyota mota? next time I'm at prime I might have to accidentally lean on an engine stand and knock the bastard over. Far too many 2Js in there stinking up the joint. ok, I admit, that was pretty funny.
  21. NOTE: Pics are kind of in reverse order (earliest pics are at the bottom, compelte pics at the top )
  22. ok, well since it's all I have right now, here's a couple pics of my finished motor to keep me going!
  23. lol. 200kg in bolts. I could take 200kg of bolts off my GTR but then I'd just be left with a partially assembled GTR and no way of ever putting it back together. and as Adriano suggested it's pretty unlikely even if you took every bolt out of the whole thing and held the car together with chewie and cable ties that you'd have 200kg in nuts and bolts.
  24. yeah I'm pretty sure it hasn't been under $1 anywhere in sydney for about 3 or 4 years now.
  25. lol, yeah I meant yours. engine should be here soon. it's all finished but I have another one being built for a mate so just waiting for his to be finished so I can send both together. the wait is killing me.
