  1. yeah, brisby is in. he likes to do his beer talk in my ear whilst i'm trying to sleep farken. bastard. well, it seems I'll have to coax wayne or duncan into sorting some Team BTR stickers for the masses.
  2. you're in big man! It's as easy as that! edit: we'll need to talk to wayne re: stickers. I think some "Team BTR" ones will do nicely. Maybe even rip of team wang and go for the red R...
  3. ok, I've been a slack tart and haven't followed up with JP. after binning my car at Eastern Creek on sunday I was feeling a bit tight arse, but I'm back in the swing of things now. I used one of these babies on wednesday at Oran Park, and I think I'm going to flip flop and go for the non-backlit one. It's still easy enough to read whilst lapping, and wiring it up is just one less thing to do (especially since I need to use it in 2 cars). yeah, ferni, no prob with John. I think his margain is so tight on these anyway so he surely wont mind. But I know he's keen to help us out. Ok, so is anyone keen to get in on this thing from UAS? For the non-backlit ones (yes I look like a tool after talking up the blue ones!). I will get a price from johnny for say, 5 units and see what he can do. He did point out that whilst these are good, he has had 2 warranty returns and honoured them both with replacement as they were not users fault.
  4. Team BTR is currently made up of 4 handsome devils in the shape of Me, John, Wayne - Ports, and Ron - Wizard. but I think some more nsw skyline beer talkers could get in on that action. We even have the stickers an everyfing.
  5. if it's open day on a saturday at GP track it will be farken packed weekdays are the go!
  6. I might actually be able to come. i'll be in my obscenely loud car this time.
  7. nah, but they will ship it cheap and fast. Even I've done it before when I was too lazy to get to their shop, and the delivery is next day or two. if you call now and buy over the phone I would say there is a good chance they'd have it delivered before tuesday.
  8. UAS stock it and I'm sure if you call them this arvo they will have it delivered to wherever you are before tuesday.
  9. as long as they are SF DIS 001s then you will be fine.
  10. lol, it seems we all have our moments! yeah I was pleased I didn't need recovery. Nothing worse than the "tow of shame".
  11. yeah I use the 10W40. I think the 10W50 is a bit overkill. I never really get oil temp above 115C on the track and the oil pressure is always good. the chrono has very high film strength etc so I just never thought about going to a 50. plus the closer the first number is to the second number the better as there are less friction modifiers needed then. so a 40 is 4 times the 10, a 50 is 5 times the 10. i don't think there'd be much in it though.
  12. yeah, correctly sized single vs correctly sized twins there should be no difference in torque or power. just perhaps the single may have better transient response as the rotating assembley will be a little lighter (I think).
  13. i've never had mine boil (32 GTR). (well not visibly anyway).
  14. sweet. I'd be in for 20l of motul chrono 300V just for me! so could probably split a 60 3 ways if there are 2 more people keen.
  15. yeah i would look hot on a scooter for sure.
  16. haha, more like 1985! 1995 was discman baby!
  17. mate, let me know when Oran Park GP or EC you are going to. also, you should come out to the NSW interclub super sprint series. I reckon you would do very well in type 1 or type 2 class (which you could meet as your car is aus delivered, and standard). All you need to do is joing www.sscc.org.au they run and compete in heaps of events. I am getting the EC damage fixed next week. car should be ready in a few weeks.
  18. yeah, a couple of hundred a week just for parking could be money better spent somewhere else I reckoned so now I catch the train. harbour bridge traffic in the mornings was driving me nuts too. now I just sit on the slow, stinky train and read or listen to my walkman. or sleep.
  19. been there, done that, don't reccomend it. though I do feel pretty tough now. mine was a combination of things. poor rear end set-up, tyres not so good, pushing hard, some oil on track. fast, 4th gear corner. lost it at 140km or so, came off the track backwards, slid a long way, then backed it into the wall. damaged bumper, reo, exhaust and pride. it reinforced in me the fact that anytime you are on the track something can go wrong. especially when you are entering corners at such high speed. BUT I was back out 2 days later after checking the car over.
  20. well i guess you could all join Team BTR - Beer Talk Racing. it's very exclusive. currently just 4 members.
  21. $8 a day? I can only dream of that. parking in my building is $38 a day (early bird) and $56 if I don't meet the early bird requirement. that got old pretty quick...
  22. hey dan, time to cut out all the bumping mate. excessive bumping will cause warnings and eventually temporary ban. bumping once a week is ok. bumping every day is not ok.
  23. dan mate, easy on the bumping. FS rules are no excessive bumping. bumping once a week to let people know it's still FS is ok. bumping every day (or even twice a day!) is not ok.
  24. :laughing-smiley-014: :laughing-smiley-014: GOLD!
  25. the hole in the banjo bolt doesn't have to line up with the flow path of the banjo. just bolt it in tight. some copper washers (called crush washers) are dome shaped so they are desinged to do one way, but it wont matter too much for you as they are sealing on both sides. i would say just one restrictor bolt is fine.
