  1. it's not dangerous, it's just less than ideal. normal operating temp is between 75 and 85. everything in your engine is designed around this premise. so running it 10 degrees cooler may through up things like increased wear on certain components. like i said, it's not dangerous, but it's not ideal.
  2. we had a team long ago. it's name was simple. team trackday
  3. ok, basically you need to team up with someone else who's got $300 per week too. then look at a nice place in the forum on norton st leichardt. cost will be around $600 per week but you can get a nice place. 15 mins to the city by bus, lots of cafes restaurants, bars etc in that area.
  4. oh noes. don't tell me you b-man'd your car b-man? lol, just stirring! shame you can't make it, I was looking forward to seeing the beast!
  5. yeah Raul knows about the tyre sitch (old stock, extra soft compound). but they aint too bad value. I think he paid about $150 each, and providing you only are doing 4 or 5 laps at a time they will give stellar times as they are bullshit soft so would be grippy as hell. having said that, the 17inch ones the guy is selling are not such good value as at $240 each they are getting close the RE55 money.
  6. ok, I need some dough. $800 pick-up for the pair. will not go lower otherwise they will just stay in my house as spares.
  7. 68 max is too cool. water temp should be between 75 and 80. ftr a peak of 87 is not high at all. especially if that peak occured after you were stopped, or had shut off the engine, then re-started a short time later.
  8. lol, thanks for pointing that out to all of us...
  9. I go to the track with: torch wheel nut tools (lock nut tool if needed) helmet gloves licence shoes coolant oil PS fluid 2 or 3 bottles of RBF600 some double sided tape some race tape (aka 100mph tape) blue point tyre pressure gauge jack spanners from 10mm to 19mm few assorted other spanners and sockets couple of rags towel cable ties (a few different sizes) appropriate clothing (full length non-flamable) tool box to put it all in. that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
  10. yes, he certainly goes deep. most of all when he was with paul. i now understand why fatz nicknamed paul 'bucket bum'... i think we may need to end this homo inuendo. people will get the wrong idea about me (and the right idea about paul and blitz). seriously though. this is my serious face.
  11. the real deal has control over both fuel and spark to get things working. and it can be mapped against load and throttle. ie you can have the anti lag kick in when you back off the throttle. if michael has his set-up to misfire as he is acclerating between 3000 and 4000 I would say it's having a negitave affect, not a positive one. have a listen to wrc cars to get a feel for where (ie what throttle position) the anti lag is operating.
  12. don't knock the hook turn fken. I love the hook turn. plenty of chance for some t-bone.... mmmm t-bone.
  13. yeah, he's a bit of a tripod. he's not so much left foot braking as he is 'middle foot' braking. that's where all the extra time is.
  14. i didn't get any. too busy sucking up to seeto.
  15. it's not the under 25 part that's a problem (well it may be part of it). it's the usage. shanons don't cover daily drivers. they are more geared towards 'weekend cars'. and I would go with the $14K from just cars. $14K and you could pretty much have your pick of 33 GTSTs on the market.
  16. i don't know if they want it known, but it was an open practice so I guess it's not a secret. he was driving Kerry Bailey's 300Z. and god damn it's quick. quickest car (apart from open wheelers) I've seen at OP I think.
  17. hey snowclown... right here buddy. right here... *points at crotch.
  18. yeah, seton told me about the T Brisby "lebanese reach around gearshift" technique but he did say that it's strictly a racing only move. to be used only when pushing for that last tenth or when trying to score chubby sex. I wish seton had taught me some moves, he was lapping the GP circuit in 1.03s... I timed him doing a 1:10 on a cool down lap!!
  19. Raul was doing well. very quick for what is a stock S15 just with sticky tyres and good pads. I would say somewhere in the mid 20s. but the aim of the day was just fun anyway. I was pretty happy with the number of cars there until they stiffed us at the end of the day. pauls phone calls to the tower soon sorted that out. and we can all say we've raced against a V8 super car! I mean, there was only about 20 cars in total there at most.
  20. lol, I just realised this thread title is funny. "true anti-lag" what you have is not true anti lag. like you mentioned it's just an ignition cutting misfire type.
  21. here's what you need to do: get bigger injectors (440cc are just about run out with what you have now) change AFMS to nismo or VG30s get cams or cam gears or both raise boost to 1.5bar spend time tuning the boost controller for best response so fit the cams/gears, injectors and afms. then take it back to your chosen tuner and have it re-tuned and the cam gears set-up.
  22. yeah I personally think it's a bad idea and a waste of time and money for anything except a maximum effort race car. and even then I don't see any of the top level circuit cars using such a system. good tuning, and correct size for application turbos mean it's not needed. there is no doubt it's damaging to your car.
  23. ahh, good thing you came out unscathed! yeah I was waiting for the big bang too. then it came. haha.
  24. I still can't view comments I've left of other people though. but hey, at least we can leave and receive the ratings
