well I in my car I have used: no cage half cage (with 1 diagonal crossbar, and one horizontal bar between rear towers) and full cage (with the stupid bendy legs) I didn't drive the car much with the full cage in as I found the front part very intrusive. I did drive it a lot with no cage, and I now drive it all the time i with rear cage. Firstly, I have no doubt that the aussie made one will be far better than my cusco one. In mine I have noticed a better feel in the rear end, I would say it feels "more direct". as it's only a half cage and is therefore 'half arsed' i can't really say how much better it is overall. 40 kgs I guess is the difference between a quarter tank of fuel and a full tank. I know I can feel that difference. BUT the extra rididity and the safety aspect I think makes this sacrifice well worth it. The price mentioned is very good. I'm almost considering driving down and get one for my nugget!

Why Disable Hicas?
Beer Baron replied to DaveO74's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
my experience with HICAS. I had no real problem with it at all. it did add to some mid corner vaugeness, and it also sometimes made you think the rear end was sliding/moving around when in fact it wasn't, it was hicas adjusting the attitude of the car. again, I didn't really have a problem with it, but I have locked it (using tomei controller and shims). for a couple of reasons: I wanted more direct feeling in the rear end. and i now have one less point of failure. and I can now set the rear end up and know that the alignment I dial in will stay that way. -
yeah I would say just an ECU. The nos kit will come with fuel jets too, so you will just need to fine tune the ign timing and fuel mix a little with the ecu when the nos is active.

well i have a wind tunnel at home troy. it's 1/10th scale though and powered by twin black and decker desk fans. as long as you can make a model of your spoiler small enough (no bigger than about 15cm wide) then I'm happy to test it for you. for the smoke trail I use a bong or sometimes a crack pipe if I'm out of pot. can only test for about 10 mins and then I can't smoke any more and the results become a bit wild.

yeah bus from norton st leichardt to the city is not too bad. there is a bus only lane all the way along parramatta road during peak hour. takes about 20 mins.

sometimes a failing fuel pump will give the car a more power productive curve, so be wary, if it has a stock ecu, the reason for the leaner mixtures could be failing pump.

yes, it wasn't alien doing burnouts in the chatswood chase carpark. well I'm pretty sure it wasn't as he turned up late, and follwed me into the top carpark when I was doing some shopping!

New Clutch Or Rebuild Old One?
Beer Baron replied to Burgerman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
hey justin. that can be adjusted. you can adjust the length of the rod at the back of the clutch pedal assembley. Mine is set to pick up not far off the floor as that's the way i like it, BUT for racing use it's quite good to have it taking up very high in it's travel, this way you can just 'punch' the clutch as you shift and don't need to push it all the way to the floor to shift gears. makes for very fast changes. -
feel free to make us one better smarty pants.

Anybody Here Had A Crash?
Beer Baron replied to GTR_STEALTH's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
yeah, there has been plenty of victims claimed by the inside wall at turn 1 EC. -
bus is the only real option from leichardt. Or I guess you could walk and take light rail.
-
sard 700s are the way to go. cheap, fit in standard rail and good enough for 700hp.

252, 14psi. stock turbos. it's not bad actually. stock cams, stock injectors, stock intercooler, stock dumps, stock front pipes, stock afms. it's pretty stock. just cam gears, boost, PFC, front pipe back exhaust.

Gtr Wheel Alignment
Beer Baron replied to ISC-Performance's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
my car: castor is max (about 9 degrees, basically as short as the rods go, and the wheel is very close to the liner, in fact it touches sometimes) front camber is 3 degrees neg rear camber is 1.5 degrees neg rear traction rods are set so the upright is more upright (for traction) front toe is 1.8mm toe out each side (so 3.6mm total) rear toe is 0mm I like it. -
Top RB20 Club... do you have over 260rwkw?
Beer Baron replied to RBsileighty's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
that is bullshit response! at 4200 you are making 250kw!!! awesome. Maybe i should turf my RB26 and whack in a 20? -
oh, and thanks for making it such a big turnout guys. otherwise adam and john were going to boot me in the arse, then make me enter my car 30 times to make up for the date change.

omg! I won something. just goes to show the little aussie battler can have a win every once in a while. about time i kicked a goal. I'm guessing you won stock turb 33 GTR? Cause you had some good power.

who won stock turbo 32 GTR?

don't forget he has $600 a week to play with for rent. a decent place in the italian forum on norton street will be between $450 and $600 and that will get you 2 or 3 bedrooms and 1 or 2 secure underground car spaces and all the cafes he desires. It's sydneys version of a cross between lygon st, carlton and parts of st kilda.

mr 1h82bu, I'm going to do you a favour. on the forum we expect a minimum level of coherent comunication. this is not a text message to your cuz. this is a question posted on a forum. spelling mistakes happen, poor grammar happens. lack of capitilization happens. BUT typing non-stop in this sms crap is going to mean you are in for a tough time on the forum, and eventually mods and admins will get sick of the conflict it (you) create and you'll get the boot. so please do us a favour and type in the best english you can muster. please.

well if you like beer, and you can talk, and you are interested in racing (or at least talking about it) then sure, you're in!

yeah great meet. good to see some guys. man I remember these cruises when we used to meet at the maccas car park. maybe 10 cars tops.big difference now. Just one point, guys when you are in the carpark at chatswood chase, no need to go gunning it around. it's not a race, and no one is impressed with how loud you car can be in the carpark. when in the carpark just lay back and slow ya ro'. because I'm quite certain the police were called after someone decided to rocket out of the carpark. we need to tread extra carefully in there as it's part private/part council carpark. so we need to be on mega good behaviour. but having said that, everyone was pretty chill on the whole, and it showed in the fair treatment we got from the police.

yes, thanks to Ben+John+Tim+Andrew and Tim's girlfriend + Jess + Adam + Nick for running such a good dyno day. absolutely massive turnout of cars. It must be a record for an SAU/UAS dyno day? well done.
