  1. my advice is if you are going to get a new crank anyway, just buy an HKS or tomei 2.8 litre kit. it comes with rods, pistons, rings and crank. and will be suitable for your massive power goal. also, i would forget the plan of running a massive turbo at low boost. it will be a dog. far better to get something in the 500-700hp range. don't skimp on your turbo. it has one of the biggest effects on how your car drives and performs.
  2. yeah, but that doesn't look like the nut to me, it's the washer that's bent 90 degrees. you can see the nut, the bent thing is the washer.
  3. we are using a navara STR (turbo diesel). It's pretty damn good. has 4 doors, decent space in the back (which we ruined with a hard top, but needed for security). Plus of course we got stupid and changed the ecu, and added a boost controller for some more torque and power. but yeah, it tows very well, even up to silly speeds, fuel usage is not the best, but it's not too bad. especially if you keep it around 100kmh and stay off boost as much as poss. looks very mean in black too with the roll over bar and foggies.
  4. yeah i should be there on the 16th providing i don't b-man my car down in vic a few days prior. paul, i can give you some pointers if you want? show you which pedal is which etc? thought you might need some help buttercup.
  5. ARGH! you are not listening to me. read my post again. REMOVE THE AIRFLOW METER FROM YOUR NEW (well second hand) FILTER. THROW IT IN THE BIN. UN BOLT YOUR K+N FILTER AND ANY ADAPTER IT MAY HAVE. LEAVE THE AFM WHERE IT IS NOW BOLT YOUR APEXI FILTER DIRECTLY TO YOUR AFM. honestly if you can't grasp this, please just take it to a mechanic. it is so frustrating. you ask for advice and seem determined to ignore it.
  6. hey shaun, yes the shorter the lines the better. but it's ok to sacrifice some longer line in order to get a better mounting spot. the earls gear is quite good. I had an earls core before. just make sure you use a soft hand when doing up the fittings to the core as I have seen a few people bust them where the fitting is braised onto the top of the core. in my opinion the trust coolers are a better piece of gear.
  7. if the cooler you have now is the trust one, i personally would not be swapping it for a just jap one. either just use your 10row one, or ask for the 19row to be sent and send the 10row back.
  8. they will be fine for 500whp.
  9. stop your whingeing brisby. you're not going bald. just harden the f**k up. fix your car. and get your arse up here for EC.
  10. tyre wear will be terrible. but do you want handling or tyres? you can't have both.
  11. on this topic I just bought some nismo steering rack bushes. will let you guys know how they go. I'd be keen for some of these sub $40 tie rod ends too.
  12. Oran park GP is awesome fun. I actually kind of like it more than EC. It's like a big roller coaster. lots of up and down. and has a 4th gear blind crest/chicane. and a big long right hander over the bridge. LOVE IT.
  13. finally one that got me. well done biatch.
  14. yeah, I bags a spot in the pantech dave. surely you can take 2 GTRs?
  15. bugger. obviously you have bought an apexi filter second hand which came with an air flow meter attached to it. take the airflow meter off and put it somewhere. now unbolt your K+N from your current airflow meter. now bolt on your apexi filter. job done. apexi don't make afms, what you have is the afm of whatever car it was fitted to before. most likely not the same model car as yours since the plugs are different.
  16. you don't have a K+N airflow meter. you have a K+N pod filter, most likely mounted to an adapter which is then bolted to your factory nissan Air Flow meter. to fit your apexi pod you need to remove your K+N pod filter and remove the adapter too, now bolt your apexi pod directly to the nissan airflow meter. if it was me, I would just leave the K+N filter on there. They are very good.
  17. ok, Oran Park have their open practice days on the 1st, 4th and 16th of next month. The 16th is a GP day so I will go to that one I think. the only downer is it's a couple of days after I get back from VIC.
  18. tune is not required. i would recomend changing the plugs though. at $20 a set it's worth doing while you have the cover and coil packs off the car anyway.
  19. the guy from autech looks very pleased with your crash effort! or at least impressed! he's a champ too. Gave me a chance to practice some of my japanese last time he was in town.
  20. c'mon. where are all the trackdays? I don't care if it's run by the devil himself as long as it's EC or OPGP.
  21. still have them. $180 is as low as it gets. otherwise I'll keep them here and impress visitors with their lightness.
  22. yeah, my mistake. dominic was in first. I just hadn't replied to him. so they are sold to him. sorry for the confusion guys, just a bit of brain fade on my part.
  23. yeah, good wheel alingment is key. and it makes such a difference to handling.
