  2. lol anyone seen or used these> S13/S14/S15/R32/Cefiro Trust Design Diff Casing http://www.driftshop.com.au/diff.htm Are they worth the cost??
  3. Just checked its the 75w90 (GL5+) redline stuff. Would be good if i could get the specs of the nismo sheit they recommend using it with
  4. Been using the Redline oil. Cant remember what spec. Bought it at Mile end AutoBarn. Im going to do an oil change when i up the preload. Im also swapping the crown wheel and pinion over to the 3.9 same as Cubes, so i can get a little more out of first.
  5. Im not an expert, so someone will correct me. I beleive they are a hlsd. There is no "way" in which they operate, but its similar to a 1 way. There are no clutches in it, only gears. Ususally you do need the half shaft it came with, dont worry as they are strong (ever heard of a gtr snapping one?) If you put the centre in your housing, with the halfshafts, and axles, you can retain the ratio you have now...(which is the other option i was looking at for my car -s13 ratio with gtr running gear)
  6. more like how i shown. For the effort to get a seized one off, id rather do it this way. crankdrill.bmp
  7. id say the latter. You can buy em from Nissan, or if your lucky from a wreking gtr (goodluck ) Watchout when wiring it in, as paulr33(?) tried to and almost fried his PFC in the process:P
  8. Well i run Wiesco pistons to the same spec as Cubes runs (24+psi/race spec) I dont get any knock on startup (if it does its like under 10), and it never goes over 30 when its all tuned. This is on a 1 hr wot tune (~$100) too...
  9. Yer ive pretty much talked myself out of it. Im going to up the preload to medium and give that a go for a while. I always thought it was one of the best mods ive done to my car.... I reckon rebuilding my gearbox will make me a happier
  10. drilled 3 holes side by side in the gear between teeth. Then used a chisel to wedge in the hole, hit it, and split the gear. Came off easy as. Dont drill into the crank...big no no
  11. take option b.
  12. do you have an r32 gtst with the AP PFC model, or a gtr with a pfc? They remap a 32 gtr PFC to use on the 32 gtst, and the r32 gtst doesnt have the inlet sensor (std in a gtr) so it normally shows ---. You can wire in a sensor though and it will display the inlet temp edit / inlet sensor is located in the inlet maniold near the throttle body
  13. I havent got mine yet. So much for overnight...
  14. Ive got the same problem you have, but minor. Ive noticed on cold mornings if i have the inner shade pulled shut it traps moisture in between it and the glass...this is what causes the rust. Leave the cover slightly open at nights to stop in the future. As for cost, take it to a few local crash shops. Any good one can remove it and repaint...
  15. Just after some random items from the 32gtr... 1. Passenger (LH) and centre double air con vents - condition and how much? 2. Centre console surround - goes around gear stick to up around din slots (its got the cig lighter as part of it) - condition and how much? 3. Rear axles - condition and how much? thanks edit/ also i need an air con condensor. Is the 32 gtr ont hte same as the gtst? What condition is yours in? How much?
  16. Ive got 32 GTR calipers on my car. They dont have the fins on them. I searced around before i bought them, as i thought as you did that they came with fins. I can gurantee the ones i got are oem 32 GTR calipers, and they are not finned. The only difference between the r33 gtst and the r32 setup is that the r32 GTR setup uses 32 mm thick rotors, and the gtst uses 30mm rotors (when new of course)
  17. Is anyone going to pay him for a rear cover gasket if it leaks when he goes to put it back together??
  18. With regards to the s15's diff (or the gtr's) being weak, i still find it hard to believe. Yes i have heard of the s15 gearboxes as sheit, but never heard of any diff problems. id say they have one of the toughest factory diff setups. Unlike Holden who only warranty the damn thing for 12 months
  19. Lol, howdy mate. Dont worry i havent sold it. I actually went for a drive yesterday and asked myself what i was thinking I havent played with the settings yet (still as is from when i bought it off you ) But i would like to try to go to the medium setting to see what its like. I just havent had the time to get under there yet and pop the half shaft out I'll give the medium setting a go soon
  20. i didnt say it was a Quaife...i said a hlsd
  21. They must be strong or Quaife wouldnt offer a lifetime warranty with them. This warranty applies even when raced - no one else does this. Quote "proven in everything from SCCA Rally to Formula 1" Nissan must have thought they were better as they swapped using the vlsd for the hlsd from the s15, and the r34's... I agree with what most of you guys have said about clutch pack lsd's. Im just getting sick of the shudder. My car isnt too bad with the wheel chirping. I can live with chirps, but shudder is annoying when cops look at you already... If it comes down to it, i'll live with the 2 way, but if i can find a simple fix (s15, or r34 centre into my housing) for cheap, then i'll go with that
  22. Im really after info on how to do the s15 swap. This is my first choice, beacause as you say the Quaife is an expensive option. S15 centres are helical, and they drop in, its just the damn half shafts... I know the oil changes count as maintenance, i was referring to pulling the whole diff out for new clutch plates etc...
  23. I sent an email to Quaife and and still waiting to hear back. OR - i need to find out how to fit a s15 helical centre to my car, as the half shafts (going from viscous to helical) are different (length and bolt pattern) im not after a shimmed std diff I want to go helical as there is no maintenance. Shimmed std. will last sfa. I need a replacement helical, or i keep the one i got
  24. Yer, id say overkill for street. Go for 2 separate sets of pads as Beer Baron suggested.
