  1. what turbo are u running it with?
  2. you can get the airtemp working. Use the gtr sensor, and wire it in. A few peple have done it now...
  3. lol...i shoehorned the rb30det + a r33 box at the same time...(then i had to pull the box out after it was all in)
  4. Yer - big tip is remember where the bolts are And dont forget all the little extras - new waterpump, oil, coolant, new plugs, new filters etc....it all adds up. I think i spent 1k+ on "little bits" and getting it running
  5. How about sussing out why you burnt a hole in the piston, or you may end up doing it again with a fresh motor...? Id hate to think what the power band will be like on the 2Lt with just more up top.... Why not go for a 2.4Lt bottom end (rb26 crank and rods, and them toyota factory forged pistons) ?
  6. Your forgetting about the snot load of extra torque the motor has. You wont notice any off boost lack of performance, only more. I can take off in second and still spin the wheels
  7. that power must come on like a light switch rns11z?? it goes from like 100hp to ~375 hp in 20 km/h?? Whats the average power work out to?
  8. yer but he needs 4 of the same now, not just 2
  9. Toyo are the best brand by far i say...
  10. wait till the injectors max out, the fuel pump shits it, the afm is too small, the std turbo is too small, the exhaust needs to be free flowing, the exhaust manifold sucks, the cams will be played with at some point, the pfc is installed (then tuned with a datalogit - u will need to do this), then when u think you have finished upgrading the gearbox will go, the rear subframe will now flex on its old mounts, and finally the tyres that you classed as expensive will be a must because there is no way the torque will get put to the ground..... Thats about 9k (being conservative).... But the actual motor is a cheap job.....
  11. They spin up if you have a heavy foot. Im running simex sm8000 on all 4 and if you give it stick they light up easily in the wet or dry. On a light foot though i dont have any troubles with them. But what do you expect for $120 ea tyres
  12. interesting is that rb25 to rb20 oil pump seems to differ in pressure. Cubes' rb25 oil pump seems to have a higher pressure than my rb20 pump when cold....
  13. In other motorsports (read motorbikes) they dont run thermostats at all. This is because they are revving the snot out of thier motors all the time, and dont have to worry about cruising temps.
  14. The front one does make a heap of difference to corner handling. The front feels flatter (less body roll) as you go through a corner. The rear makes less of a difference (due to it being in a different point in the suspension geometry) or something liek that Worth having on the car though...
  15. checked the fuse box?
  16. How much did the radiator cost by itself? Did they bleed the system of air properly? What checks? Install is 2 hose clamps and 2 nuts
  17. Cheers Matt. Still ringing around, will give em a call. Not too sure if i like the idea of my car in someones workshop over Christmas though, so i might see the insurer will let me postpone it till new years...
  18. I would go with a new tuner, and see what happens
  19. not if he he hasnt put the head on yet?
  20. Howdy mate, My car just got hit on the rhs front. how much for the front drivers guard + grille to Adelaide?
  21. Thanks guys. I have heard of Des before, and parafield is pretty close so i'll give him a call. Id like the whole car done. Its hard to colour match the other panels when the rest of the car is faded Damn previous owners backyard job. Wonder if i can get em to put on some gtr front 1/4 panels ... I might ring the insurer and see if i can take it anywhere in Adelaide if i cant find somewhere close thats good.
  22. My line got backed into on the drivers front side. Lady hit my car on the drivers front 1/4, scraped the door, and did some damage to the side bar too... I need a crash repairer in the north eastern suburbs to get to do my car (i get choice of repairer), as it has to be local. Anyone recommend a place that will do top line work? Its insurance job, so i aint paying for it. Id also like to see how much to respray the car maybe (as it needs it). Any ideas how much to get the extra done?
  23. You may find the last 1 or two air bubbles work their way to the top after a short drive. Give them a little bit to work properly. I always have the same thing happen. Just check the reservior after and top it up. It needs a good few brakes to work 100%
  24. Can i suggest a cheap fix, that can narrow down your prob? Why dont you throw some toluene in the tank and get the tuner to do a quick wot tune. If its the fuel ron causing a low reading you will know straight away. When hes finished just reload your old maps
  25. anyone tried - http://www.bowtieracing.net/ ?
