  1. Try Pedders..they stock stuff like tie rod ends for skylines now
  2. Trying to get my head around it still sorry Duncan By loosening it off do you mean tightening or softening the pre-load? Its set to the softest (low) setting atm. Does that mean the only option is to remove a shim or two? And by doing this, it will effectivly stop the clunking / shuddering etc at slow speeds? Sorry for the Q's One last one though - I still like the idea of the helical diff because of the non service aspect (clutches to wear out). Which one would you put in a street car, and why?
  3. Define what you mean by skip please Duncan? I think i know what your geting at. I'll adjust up the setting and see how it goes and report back
  4. Nismo GT-Pro 2 way with adjustable pre load. I would sell it if the price was right. Remember this is the GT-pro though, cos the regular one which isnt adjustable goes for like 1k Its done less than 10,000. Previous owner ran it in, then ive used it for less than 5,000kms...had 2 or 3 oil changes since new too...came with new everything-sideshaft bearings etc.... attached pic shows what i mean...mines set to soft atm. On topic - Anyone can help me?
  5. Sick of my clunking 2 way as its a mainly street driven car.... 3 options : 1) S15 centre - whats the go with installing this into my r32? What do i do about the half shaft bolt pattern, as i understand u need to use the s15 half shafts. Are the s15 and r32 halfshafts interchangeable? 2)Quaife (torsen) centre - very expensive, but it is a straight drop in i believe? 3)R34 GTR V-spec - i think i read somewhere that they came out with a helical centre....but whats the chance of picking one these up... This link gives info on how they work, and how the more popular clutch centre works, as well as the pros and cons of each. - http://www.houseofthud.com/differentials.htm Im just after a centre that doesnt clunck at low speeds, as well as the performance of a locking diff.... So - Looking at the above options 1) seems the cheapest. What is required for the s15 centre to go into my car? Any other opinions or options are welcome edit/ as a side note, im also lowering the ratio from 4.3 to 3.9
  6. yer i dont pretend to know how to set my Avcr up, but for an around $100 tune my shitty turbo doenst spike at all...on the graph mode it shows it holding 1.1 bar flat on the 3Lt. I guess it all comes down to tuning...
  7. I replaced all ps lines, new fliud (bled the system as chris said), even fitted the tomei hicas lock black box (it stopped the light coming on the dash, but i havent fitted shims yet) and the power steering still goes heavy from time to time...its starting to piss me off big time...
  8. Yes the idle drops when i put the air con on. The noises are pretty bad...bad enought to say sheit that dont sound good...even from inside the car. All hoses are connected (i always make sure to reconnnect stuff as i put it back toegether ) So i guess that means its the compressor? Do i have to remove the whole thing? What would be better - getting this one rebuilt, or putting a second hand one on?
  9. Its only started to blow hot recently... I did the aircon diagnostics mode (first time in the shade...duh ) I got everything ok. the sensors measured 30.4 / 34.5 / 26 / 24.5 the last two temps were going up, after i did the test again in the full sun... I have to agree with 3lit3 3. Its got to be something to do with the actual compressor or clutch.... How do i tell which one?
  10. Motor is a rb30det in a r32 gtst. Car runs pfc, 550cc inj. Q45 afm.....etc Ok symptoms: -Aircon just blows hot air, no matter what setting. -Aircon Compressor makes bad whirring /rotating niose when aircon switched on -Pulley looks to be vibrating slightly as it spins -idle drops as it struggles to keep car idling Does this sound like a bearing or something on the pulley thats probably shat it? Or would it be something else on the front of the aircon, like the windings? Car hasnt blown any fuses though.... Looks easy to get at the windings here: http://translate.google.com/translate?u=ht...Flanguage_tools Anyone know what parts stuffed? The compressor, the clutch, windings, or the pulley? Aircon wasnt touched when the 3lt went in, it was left connected, so i assume its got gas in it still... I cant run the aircon diagnostics on the Pfc as well...i guess it wont run with the std ecu either as it has the 550cc inj, and q45 afm on it atm as well... Any ideas?
  11. 95-100 is as hot as you want to go..... Remember - coolant in your car boils at 110 deg. only (doesnt sount like much ) and any oil turns to water at 140 degrees....
  12. All Clutch and brake here in Adelaide deal in all skyline calipers and brake parts. Look in the yellow pages. They rebuilt my 32 gtr calipers. It cost $42 per side for 1 kit + $50 in labour to strip, fit, and paint like new
  13. Im pretty sure by law you are allowed to keep a deposit after 2 weeks has gone past.... After that its like unclaimed goods....
  14. 4. The front strut brace is preety much fine except the passenger mounting plate is bent (but easily unbent) how much? air con vents?
  15. Passenger aircon vents, and double centre aircon vent condition? If in good nick how much How much for the damaged front strut brace too...very keen in that
  16. Kym, it was in the Mallala Practice days thread started by Roy : http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...ic=46214&st=120 And to quote SK : I'll be keeping an open day for this for sure
  17. Id say its a good thing to do while the heads off. Remember boost is a measurement of restriction of airflow. Anything that helps the motor breathe better is good imho. You will get better power out of it for the same boost that you had before.... On a side note, the guys who did mine and Cubes did it for roughly $200 ish...anymore spent wasnt worth the $ to power gain....
  18. Do you know this for certain? Have you done a rebuild using the 300zx internals? My 25det box needs new bearings, and CBC dont list any parts for the rb25.... I need part numbers for a bearing kit in the rb25det box....
  19. ?
  20. Sky30 runs GTR valve springs in his r32 rb25de head. RB20 cams are the same as r32 rb25de cams as well.... Dunno about springs though....
  21. $20 for airbox? I can pickup....
  22. Looks great Keep the updates coming....
  23. I run a 1 piece tailshaft with a 33 box in my 32. Setup has run over 300rwkw, and an 11 sec 1/4 from previous owner. I put it in my car behind a 3lt, and it still has no probs with vibration, or gear selection...
  24. If this GB doesnt happen soon, im gunna pull out..... Thanks to those who showed interest, then disappeared.
  25. not using an amp, or running a surge tank (but i dont know if i will one day ) Ive got some 10mm thick cable i can use for the + wire (its insulation is red too....bonus ) Dunno anywhere to earth it though, as my boot still has all the origional trim inplace....would any part of the car do, so long as its a good contact point?
