  1. you put the lights on and it starts counting down? The greddy turbo timers have 2 settings for countdown, auto and manual (I guess you would call it) basically in maual (P1 and P2 i think, been a while since i looked at mine sorry) it will do whatever you tell it to do and thats it on auto it will say Lo and Hi i think and in either of these settings it uses your battery voltage to determine/guess engine RPM and adjust to suit, so if you rev it lots it will go up and if u dont rev it much it will stay around 30 maybe a bit more so what you want is P1 or P2.... If this is the problem and its not some funky electrical issue lol
  2. ahhh shit lol.... it been to long since ive been taught air con systems I googled it for you cause I wanted to remember what it does as well... RECEIVER-DRIER The receiver-drier is used on the high side of systems that use a thermal expansion valve. This type of metering valve requires liquid refrigerant. To ensure that the valve gets liquid refrigerant, a receiver is used. The primary function of the receiver-drier is to separate gas and liquid. The secondary purpose is to remove moisture and filter out dirt. Air Con Information So basically its for the secondary reason that you must replace it because it will absorb alot of moisture from atmosphere when it is disconnected from the system.
  3. shouldnt cost much, they will suck it out with a recovery pump into a bottle of waste R134a Refrigerant.... if your planning on removing air con lines and such you will need a new reciever drier when you put it all back together
  4. I said I have a manual boost controller...... You could probably get it to retain factory Low boost at less then 4500rpm and HI boost above that if thats what you wanted by wiring the dual stage into the factory plug, getting the power and earth the right way around Otherwise mine was hooked up to a switch in the car and it will Just be Low boost switch off, High boost switch on If your interested PM me, I dont need my manual dual stage anymore....... Its a dual stage turbosmart (Red)
  5. I have a manual dual stage boost controller that will give you adjustable HI and LOW boost at the flick of a switch, was running 8psi/12psi pretty well, Have electronic boost controller now so dont need it
  6. feel alot nicer to drive?
  7. not your fault, cant help it if people want to be difficult aye works out alright for me anyway, I should be home by the time there sent so they can be sent to the original address I gave you or the new one I told you, whatevers easiest for you
  8. well its not reading your boost presure so it cant regualate your boost. Where have you hooked the map sensor up to? Mines hooked up on the same line as my boost gauge and works fine... If you've tee-d it in pretty much anywhere it should get a reading so not sure whats going on, chuck up some pictures of your setup BTW: you def turned the "Boost control kit" or whatever it is option on under settings or ETC, its in pauls manual, i havent played with mine for that long i forget where it is and what its called....
  9. ahh yeahh.... sorry ive stuffed up there lol... What you were saying is 100% inj duty on stock turbo will run rich because the tune would not require that much fuel Yeah silly me thought the car was hitting 100% duty and still wanting more, but 100% would be lots of fuel with stock turbo Sorry bout that I wasnt thinking ZXY: Your tuner will sort it out, as long as you know what you want out of the tune he will sort it out for you
  10. hmm thought it would have run a bit lean if it was hitting 100% inj duty and you would have seen a little bit of knock, probably luck you didnt anyway lol yeah get the tunes and/or injectors sorted and should be alright, The atmo bov thing as said, prob wont run 100% with them but should be good enough to drive around with half decent fuel economy, probably try for a plumback bov in the near future but best of luck with it
  11. If it came with a jap tune id get it re-tuned asap Japs run much nicer fuel then us so the tune will probably be fairly average on Aus fuel You can get the BOV to work properly with the power FC so if thats easier and your happy with it should all be good. Might just be a bit of fiddling around for the tuner at idle and low revs but no dramas really
  12. how come you want an atmo bov? not taking the p!ss or anything just asking why If you dont need one I'd seriously consider putting a plumback one on.... legal and less issues
  13. d-jetro will run map sensor but you have to use the GTR one so u lose vct and its a bit of a pain and not really worth it unless your going for big power U can tune out the effects of atmo bov by altering the map yes.... but put a plumback on, there way less hassle. If your sick of the stock plumback theres quite a few aftermarket plumbacks
  14. im not sure on the offset so that could be wrong.... just sounded familiar but might not be
  15. it could... I dont really know anything about nistune, I wouldnt think it would have anything to do with the loss of VCT but yeh not sure have to find someone who knows a bit about nistune, maybe theres something in the tuning that will fix it?
  16. if you have stock ecu try ressetting it? sorry if youve said its aftermarket and ive missed it but if its stock ecu just try to reset it. Its simple enough to do and theres alot of silly little things the ecu learns or whatever it does that are fixed with a simple ecu reset. might not fix it at all but its worth a try for the 5 mins it takes to do
  17. lol it is sorta a good point, why does noone do it.... but when my brain thinks any further then that i just think "skyline filling up with LPG and running on LPG, thats not right" like i said, good point but i wouldnt want to do it to my skyline and i dont know many others that would either lol just seems wrong
  18. I think it looks a bit funny the wheels sticking that far out on a stock looking car.... but i think my wheels are offset around 20 on the rear and there flush with the top of the guard pretty much. (19 x 9.5 with 265's) Im not at home, away for work so I cant double check what offset mine are, but are u sure u dont have spacers on the car or something and didnt notice? Perhaps your old mags were spaced? I dont think it will be that but just thought I'd say something just in case you didnt think of that
  19. ahhh yeah, what are the main differences? I think i heard they have a stronger valve (hence why ppl upgrade from a gtst bov) and theres somethig else different Interested to know for sure I knew they were the same flange and plumb back configuration (although i think the plumback flange is a slighty different size?) anyways, interested to know the actual differences rather then just going from what i remember seeing 5 years ago at a glance kinda thing lol
  20. Ill throw mine into the mix, I think they look good on my car, there bigger then i wanted (19's, i wanted 18's but after constantly getting told the wheels i wanted were only available in 19's for the offset on my car I gave up and got 19's) But the suit my black skyline pretty well... Well I think so anyway Koya INOX R1's (Polished Lip, Machined face spokes with black R1 + other details) 19 x 8.5 front (235's) 19 x 9.5 rears (265's) Sorry about image size They have nice dish at the rear, a little at the front and fill the guards pretty nice
  21. I had KU31's performed very well in the wet and dry, awesome tyre for the price i thought the only reason I dont have them on the car now is cause i needed tyres and couldnt get KU31's for under 800 bucks for a set of rears so had to go a cheaper option, found a place to source them cheap now so next time will definently get them again
  22. The media will never abuse holdens or fords for 2 main reasons 1. There Australian and if they abused them to much, the Australian public would be outraged cause as you know 90% of people in Australia think the best cars in the world are Holdens and Fords (Not dissing Fords and Holdens, think they have both made some great steps forward of late but still) end of the day - Keep the customer happy when the majority of customers love Fords or Holdens 2. Most of the sportier Holdens and Fords are out of the price range of people that want to hoon etc. Yes yes i know you still get fools in new clubsports, F6's etc etc, but theres alot of older people that buy sports cars and drive around like grannys. Also the 2,000,000 holdens with lets say 20,000 hoons/bad drivers whatever to the 100,000 imports with say 10,000 hoons whatever doesnt help purely because any old mate who thinks he is a drift king can easily go buy a silvia or whatever... Those are made up numbers to prove a point, not calling everyone/anyone here a bad driver The media is biased, but what can you do? I changed from holden to Skyline, Never ever looked back, love how well it drives after 16 odd years of use
  23. Yeah, when I'm finished a few more mods so my car looks a bit nicer... lol Whats wrong with the paint on yours, it looks in great condition in the photos?
  24. Theres a small few of us..... Such a tidy 33, look forward to seeing track day pics
