thats strange, i got a full x-force exhaust going from a stock exhaust and mine hit the same boost without having to touch anything... Just a bit quicker response i think from the bigger exhaust
-
i think..... (and this is from memory which doesnt mean much ) that if you removed the purple plug and it was at operating temp and idling that the idle should have hunted or the car should have stalled. If it was still cold the cold start valve may have accounted for the loss of AAC valve. If not it will be the brown plug that should cause the stalling Thats the best i can think of

Im pretty sure this just has something to do with the way the fuel tank is in the skylines, They all seem to do it to some degree Pretty sure the tank is tapered so that theres less volume at the top and more down the bottom. But ive never had mine out so not so sure lol

Steering Randomly Goes Heavy - R33 Skyline
89CAL replied to Dean_HR31's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
R32's do it when the speedo cable/sensor whatever fails. Could be something to do with that. Its tied in with the speedo sensor and the hicas thats all i remember, but feels really hard and i think if u put little force constantly on ur steering wheel it will kick back slightly, hard to explain -
sounds silly personally. Keep the stock one or get a decent plumback that u can mount in the same spot
-
redline shockproof is from what i hear not good for syncros or not approved for use with sychro gearboxes
-
yeah dont drive like a dickhead. Go for a drive with someone... or sit on a corner... and wait for a p-plater/anyone really to come past and do a skid around the corner or try and kick id sideways or rev the balls out of it and imagine wat a cop would think if they saw that I think it usually makes ur car look worse when u appear to treat it like shit. Bottom line... if u dont do anything wrong, they cant get u for anything. And you wont have cops remembering ur numberplates and pulling u over every chance they get. I have not been pulled over in my turboed skyline since november last year, cause I drive it fairly sedatly majority of the time
-
think youll need new sychros and bearngs..... $500 - $1000 depending on where/what u get and who u know dont quote me on that but im just giving u a rough idea while ur waiting for someone with more knowledge to answer lol

**wrecking R33 Series 2**
89CAL replied to Antonjj's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
series 2 front in tact? photos of that if possible? -
I like a stock look with minor mods like some nice wheels, maybe a touch lower then normal and just things that make the car look clean. Not fast or fully sick, just clean if my car had a series 2 front and nismo lip id be well and truly happy with how it looks, the S1 front just bugs me lol but in saying that its not that bad I have a GTR wing on my GTST but it came like that and as far as im concerned it looks better then any of the other wings that nissan offered for the 33 or no spoiler at all... The stealth wings... there alright but I'd rather the GTR wing. But i can see this turning into a sh!t fight cause everyone has diferent opinions... that blue one posted a page or 2 back but... we probably can all agree that sucks thing that annoys me about it but is that if he didnt have th chrome tail lights and gtr badges at the back it would probably look pretty nice (back only) cause of the smooth boot,

if your car is relatively stock it will be fine if u drive it steady. I put my PFC in for a bit one day for a play and just ran around off boost at lower revs and it displayed next to no knock. The base map is pretty fuely i think but as long as u drive it to your tuner (if hes not a great distance away) really lightly it should be fine. If you have any doubts just run the stock ecu till u get there or nearby and change it then
-
yeh when i went from an atmo bov to the stock one again it kept idling really bad. tried clening aac valve and afm and a couple of other things then reset ecu and it was all good no for fear of repeating myself to many times ill end it here lol
-
reset the ecu....... KR4-GTR: was your problem not doing the self learn procedure with the power fc?
-
sure its thrm not thro? Seems like a tps problem maybe, did u plug in the tps on the new throttle body/change it with the old RB one? Im not sure on the Q90TB's and what there tps is like but id start there

How Much Do You Spend On A Oil Change ?
89CAL replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I use motul 8100. Always been good and never have a problem with it. Synthetic and not overly expensive. I think i used drift filters ages and ages ago but havent been able to find them since so just went ryco but again no problems there either -
atmo bov? if u have a standard ecu try ressetting it (unplug battery and pump the brakes or turn stuff on and off to drain all the residual power from the wires) then plug battery bak in easy thing to do and doesnt cost anything if not start looking elsewhere
-
just be the cold start feature. Just dumps more fuel in and brings the revs up a bit to warm the car up. Thats wat it sounds like anyway
-
the autometer gauges come with a t-piece. Depending on what gauge you got it might come with one. just wait for it to turn up and see whats in the box otherwise just plumb it straight from that line and forget about the stock gauge if you dont want it. mine's read wrong ever since i put my aftermarket boost gauge in but its there so i may as well leave it functioning haha
-
eh this debate will go on forever.... V8s are cool, I like turbo's just cause i like the feeling of hitting boost and I've always had an RB and just enjoy the way the whole setup of them is. Theres those on both sides that will sit there and go 'this is better then that' but nether are better. you have to go to an individual engine setup. E.G. My engine setup vs a VL 5 litre holden motor.... mine is probably better yes. My engine vs a lamborghini V8, probably not better The only way to say which is better is to put them to the test but like i said you cant group all V8s vs all Turbos. If you know wat i mean...
