  1. as far as i know, R32, R33 and R34 BOV's are all the same, only GTR BOVs are different and not by much anyway, will still fit on the same flange and line up etc R33 BOV will be fine on an R34
  2. Hey Met you one night ages ago (Prob when you just bought the car) while out one thursday night, Had a VL back then Saw your car in Performance Imports, its come along well man, loved it the night I saw it and its only got better since then so just saying hello from a fellow Mackay member
  3. Consider a Tomei fuel pump over a Walbro, bit more expensive but worth it in the end. And if u do get one, fit it yourself, very easy to do. The tune/chip sounds alright and front mount fitted for $450 is pretty good considering the headaches that you get with some of the kits, but as said an R34 SMIC will do you for that power, but if your gonna upgrade eventually may as well do it now, Bit of extra piece of mind knowing your charge airs a little bit cooler with a FMIC
  4. Youd be suprised what using the wrong oil does to gear changes, In my old car I used the wrong oil in my manual and it was an absolute pain in the ass to drive around with. New proper oil in and was way better. I think I use Syntrax in the skyline, it works pretty well, and isnt overly expensive
  5. Mine was the same on stock ecu. Wind boost up above 8psi or so I think it was and at around 4500rpm it would just cut the engine an ud get this massive horrible stutter. Like really massive throw u forward in the seat kinda stutter lol
  6. What do u mean by restricting? When does it feel like its restricting? (Revs/speed/boost) Umm maybe your coilpacks but yeah I dunno jut give as much info as possible and someone on here should be able to sort it out What sort of spark plugs does it have/did u replace them with?
  7. yeh im not sure, they use monaros in drift with v8s still in them. The only logical reason i thought would be for the extra revs and perhaps the RB being a bit lighter? i dunno Perhaps its easier to control higher revs then to control all that torque lower down. Havent drifted V8s so no idea on the downfalls of it
  8. holdens 4wd system in the adventra wasnt the best i dont think..... It does seem a bit strange they would do that, but I guess the RB probably delivers the power smoother rather then all in on burst... Must be better for drifting if theyve spent the money to do it?
  9. To OP: Whoooo cares what the F@!$ other people think about your car. If it makes you happy keep it. 33's are nice to drive, even as a daily so just make it your own and it will be fine
  10. did you check the gaps on the plugs? but thats probably not enough to make ur car act up
  11. are the people involved in this group buy going to get first preference for clutch line group buy?
  12. I cant believe people dont like the 35 GTR in standard form. They had one here at the dealer one day so I went for a look and my god they look that much sexier in real life. But I guess you cant please everyone lol
  13. Sorry its not a great photo but this is how mines setup. Lots of people say it needs to be as close to your throttle body as possible but mine works fine as it is, Little tight but still vents etc. A friend has his on the pipe off the front of his TB with a stainless pipe across the front of the car (just behind the radiator into his intake pipe) but its a bit cheaper to do it the way mine is done
  14. Thats a very similar reason to why I changed mine, I dont like the sound of the stock one and I got a Greddy Type RS (Copy but, not genuine) for really cheap brand new. Mine is plumbed back, Sounds a bit like a SSQV but a bit more original. I get peoples points but, theres alot of people that go buy blow off valves thinking they will get power gains and look heaps sick but end up with a stalling car that chews fuel.
  15. yeh as paul said check the harness is all the way in. Sometimes if u leave the screw that holds it in a bit loose it doesnt run properly, happened to mine and screwed it in a bit more and ran fine
  16. plus my stock turbo only has a 2 inch (or is it 2.5"?) inlet so my intake pipe is much smaller but also custom made to suit my setup so the hks item will have to be modded or ill have to change it with another custom one
  17. yeah the only problem with the intake pipe provided is my pretty.... i dunno if ud call it complex but yeah its a bit tight, BOV plumback setup with my front facing plenum... Guess ill just see how i go and if i have to get a new pipe made up or get something modded then it shouldnt be to major thanks guys, now i know the possible problems im up against. whats the deal with the water feed line? just a bastard of a spot to get to?
  18. yeh? I was just hoping i could use my existing dump but oh well. Think im gonna have to try and work out what to do with the intake pipe when i get the turbo but yeah think its just gonna be a bit of mucking around How did you rate difficulty/problems with installation? Anything else I should know? Thanks guys
  19. Im looking at buying one of these for my R33 and just thought I'd do some research in the mean time I have stock turbo at the moment with X-Force exhaust, turbo back. It looks like the dump will fit directly to the back of the RB25 version of the 2835 but thought I'd ask if someon knows for sure first hand Also I have a front facing plenum setup with a plumback arangement that is a bit different and just wondering about the inlet size of the turbo cause I can quite work out how its set up and what size it is At the moment I have a 45 degree silicon bend coming off my turbo (2.5 inch) that goes to my intake pipe which expands to 3 inch before the AFM. The pipe has been customised to suit the stock rocker cover breater and have a plumback BOV ported into it. Any help, pictures etc would be much appreciated Thanks Callan
  20. PM Replied and money deposited
  21. The only reason I suggested PFC boost control kit is because it works fine and you can avoid having another controller etccluttering up your dash. I've never had issues with it but really depends what features you want
  22. I have the PFC boost control kit, it does the job, doesnt spike, I havent had a problem with it I do agree its probably older technology and theres better out there but if you want to keep your interior free of extra gauges, units whatever then the PFC Boost control kit is good cause you can just control it through your hand controller... if you dont have a handcontroller then yeh probably go with something else lol
  23. I got a Greddy Type RS copy BOV (Autobahn88) because it was cheap and i was sick of the sound the stock one made. Its plumbed back and it works pretty well, and i didnt pay the earth for it. If your intent on getting a dual port turbosmart, they make a direct bolt on one for skylines (Its black and silver) but its pricey at $450 Id suggest GTR or another Stock BOV unless ur sick of the noise like i was haha
  24. Put me down for a set, They look pretty tidy
  25. I run a front facing plenum with BOV in the hot side plumbed back to intake. Works fine, shouldnt really matter. Heres a photo to hopefully help you out, I know its not a stagea but may still be helpful PM me if you want more photos
