  1. So saying that would it be possible for the larger 1.5mm to flow more of that 'thick' oil than 2 smaller 1.1's? Imagine a thick gel pushing through 2 1.1mm holes, it may not flow through at all; then a single 2mm hole it may. If that makes sense. :S In a way similiar as to selecting the correct viscosity oil for a given bearing clearance. Gut feeling says no. Maybe its bottom end was on its way out as 6months later it did spin a bearing. ------ I should also say its getting NO blowby. Absolutely nothing and there's noticably more oil sitting in the sump with the motor running. Prior with it idling around the oil level would suck to the Low mark. Now it sits 3/4 up.
  2. Well you see wetsuits are made from neoprene. lmao
  3. I think an Apology is in order for Gary (Sydneykid). I doubted his suggestion that a 1.5mm restrictor up front and rear blocked off was perfecty fine for the R32 RB25DE head with no VCT. So I went and did it anyway and it is 11ty billion percent fine. Plenty of oil up top; top ends nice and quiet; no tapping when it comes off a rev; its all good. So my apologies Buddy! ---- I do know of a RB30DET that ran with 2 x 1.1mm restrictors and that had the lifters tapping a tad after a high rev pull. Not sure the flow dynamics of it all BUT is it possible the 2 x 1.1mm restrictors results in less oil pressure up top than a single 1.5mm?
  4. Ahh top stuff Matt. Good to see it back on the road. Hows's the big trust spool? Its definitely came a LONG way since the old days when it was making a shade over 200rwkw.
  5. I'm sure Pauly will give you lots of Candy.
  6. For the R32's there's no problem. For the R33's really there's no problem either BUT at the moment I still haven't got a VCT controller, which I won't be doing until my own car is sorted with respects to needed a new headgasket; I attempted to reuse the old metal shim but bah bugger leaks.
  7. Well I stripped downt he cometic cleaned and sprayed with hylomar. Its leaking between an oil and water galley. So I'll be going trust this time around 'just' incase. lol Nengun is cheap $196 delivered BUT I can't be bothered dicking around waiting months for them to deliver.
  8. Who's GTR did the curb mounting? :S
  9. You looking for friends to take? Whats that old saying.. Nigel No friends? lol
  10. Great turbo for a great price here peoples. Good for an easy 260rwkw+ -- Get your car back on the road Darren.
  11. Lol nothing to do with the balls but rather the lack of using them if I do. The missus wouldn't be too happy. lol
  12. This sucks... Its torture reading the replies. I'm going to unsubscribe. I was so looking forward to driving the car after 4weeks of it being off the road. Damn incompetent idiots. I should have known better though. So on to the drowning my sorrows with a few CC's.
  13. No need for a z32 just yet, wait until you upgrade injectors and turbo then tune.
  14. Well I would have but my turbo oil feed banjo pisses oil everywhere. So off to pirtek tomorrow morning for them to fix it as they f**ked it by putting it in their vice or what ever they did to damage the banjo face.
  15. Pauly; We naturally have high levels of testosterone (As I twirl shoulder/back hair around index finger) lol
  16. Can you do the Motul 5w40 8100 for the old $59 price? Autobarn have jacked their price up, only one place here in Adelaide that still does it for $59 that I know of.
  17. ~$100 for a set of std rb26 cams especially with the half moon missing is a price I would be happy with.
  18. Thats actually different from what Apexi state within their pfc pro commander manual. As quoted from Apexi I have no idea which is correct. :S
  19. Its boost/rev's related. The rb26 springs are a couple mm taller + which helps with seat pressure. Out of 4 motors here in Adelaide there's only 1 that I've seen that has been untouched and had no issues at 20psi. The other 3 required shimming to get seat pressure up to a working level and the other one (sky30's) was fine until around 17psi. The rb25de springs are identical from what I can see and feel to the rb20det springs. The issue occurs because the spring is attempting to control a valve that is larger/heavier.
  20. From memory. GTR injectors. 36psi - 440cc 40psi - 480cc 46psi - 520cc I may have the fuel pressure's off a little. My own flowed 480cc at 40psi I know that for sure.
  21. You can never exactly match the rolling dia of different sized tyres. You can run staggered sized rims but they must run the same sized tyre. If you run a larger tyre on the rear it will take a tad longer before the 4wd system realises slip as a result it 'may' be a little more rwdish. Running smaller dia tyres on the rear will cause the torque guage to constantly read which is where things aren't so good for the 4wd system.
  22. ok. Well as you can understand its definitely not possible to run such figures with stock fuel pressure and injectors. Have a look at the std fpr and tell me if it looks as if some one has smacked its top in a tad. Its a crude method of upping fuel pressure. Whats your tuner think is going on? He would obviously have some idea as the base map would be way off the mark if it were running higher fuel pressure and or highflowed injectors.
  23. What ecu are you running? Those out there who have fiddled with batch injection. Is it possible to get close to that figure with batch fire? i.e 2 injector pulses per cycle vs the 1 pulse (sequential) the std ecu and pfc uses. (remembers back to the 533rwhp on stock injectors thread)
  24. Its was definitely a freak break down. A heater hose letting go at 60 thou... Must of definitely been a flaw from manufacture. The problem was it was a long trip so your cruising for hours on end; it only takes a minute or so of overheating at the alloy goes soft. Manufactures really should incorporate a buzzer.
  25. I think I also had the same thing on the stock rb20det ecu. Not sure if it was rich or what not but it felt as if it would bog down slightly then lunge off. It wasn't all that noticable. I dropped in the pfc and it was 100% perfect on its base map.
