ok i am looking around for piston options at the moment and thought i better keep piston info in the one thread instead of starting a new one again. I am loooking for a fairly cheap option in forged pistons, firstly i was thinking cp pistons but havent got great confidence in there rings at all and have these in my other rb26 motor and rings are causing some minor blowby issues i dont like. Ive been told the rings have been updated but still abit uncertain. other options are the Mahle pistons and ACL Race Series pistons. does anyone have the part no. for the 2 brands of pistons above to suit a rb26/30 and what sort comp ratio do they work out too. ACL Race Series Ive found part no. 6MKRY9608 from the ACL race series website and they qoute 8.5:1 cr on rb30et engine so i assume its gonna work out too low using a rb26 head? anyone with suitable part noumbers of pistons to suit rb26/30 engines and have a reasonably good cr ratio can u post them up. Mahle Forged Pistons Mahle i found a link on ebay qouting this info... Part#: NIS264425I05 APPLICATION: NISSAN SKYLINE GTS-T RB30DET TURBO RB30DET 87.00 Bore, 85.0mm, 152.5mm, 21mm Pin, 32.1mm, 4.5cc dish, 312g, 8.5:CR does that info sound correct or do u think they are qouted for a rb30et instead? anyone running Mahle pistons besides R33_Racer? any opinions on them?
-
sorry to reply twice in a row but i found a part no. while searching the forged pistons thread in this section, someone qouted part no. CP-RS6610-3406-0 these come up on google as 1993-1998 Supra NA piston set, so i dunno if its correct or not but thats about as much as info as i could come up with at moment.

lol nice turbo choice 5k for the car complete thats crazy cheap, any ideas where to find similiar bargains? ive searches my105.com etc and nothing im looking for a race only one as well, im still deciding between gtr and gtst though, its a tough decision.
-
thanks mate ill see what i can dig up with that spec sheet info
-
Hey Shane, the spec sheet doesnt say SC7311 or SC and then 4 numbers of some kind? thats the part no. if it does. if it doesnt have a part no. then they may well be custom size
-
when ya got a budget unfortunately u gotta save money on some items how much did the car set u back if u dont mind saying?
-
ive had a search on google etc and nothing except the links to aussie shops for rb30det pistons, im wondering if they are custom made and not off the shelf items from CP? i searched the sports compact list on CP's website and still nothing unless they are from another engine and fit the 26/30 setup?
-
i'd say the r32, ive seen your skills on the track at ahg and you are a damn good driver, im sure either car u will do well
-
im after the part no. from CP Pistons for the forged piston set to suit a rb30 bottom end and rb26 head, i know spool imports sell them but im looking to see if i can get them from the USA as the rb26 pistons from cp are almost half the price from the US compared to australian shops, so im hoping the cp's for rb30det are cheaper as well if i can confirm the part no. If u happen to have the part no. can u also mention what size they are, 20 thou oversize, etc or whatever? cheers

gts4 is 4.3 diff ratio isnt it? and gtr is 4.11 from memory, thats what i got told anyway

this is the qoute from the webpage on that car... Rollers Street: 18x11 Boze Mesh; 285/35R18 Hoosier Sports Car DOT Radial Wet; Track: 18x11 CCW Classic; 285/35R18 Hoosier Sports Car DOT Radial http://www.superstreetonline.com/featuredv...ifications.html

hey guys ive done a search and found heaps of info on dead n1 pumps and using jun/tomei pumps etc but im just interested at what power levels would i need to upgrade the stock gtr oil pump? i know the n1 pump is worth bugger all but they are like russian roulette and im doing a budget build if i can as its a spare engine, im gonna try and avoid having to upgrade the pump if i can. so what power levels can i safely run with a stock gtr pump on a rb26? and if i went for a 26 head with rb30 bottom end would i be able to make more power with the gtr oil pump safely? how much with the 30? sorry if this has been asked before, any links to relevant threads appreciated, or any info on the subject even better

What Oil For Ppg Straight Cut Dogbox?
unique1 replied to unique1's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yes its a ppg 1st to 5th straight cut dogbox, i know they arnt a smooth ride but i was just curious as to why it was perfectly smooth when cold but worse when warmed up. Thanks Dave, i just wanted to make sure its nuthin bad and im causing more damage, ill swap the oil over asap and see how it goes, i can get it to drive smooth as without any crunching except the 1st to 2nd shift if i go slow 1st to 2nd its fine but when revving it right out it crunches bad. im definately getting the hang of it now i dont mind driving it at all even around the streets its fine and just has abit of a whine too it that gets on ya nerves sometimes lol -
yer reading 6 x egt would be awesome as well any pics of the old versions?
-
hahha, cheers for the replies guys your a great help, damn i was hoping it said recond last week or something lol
-
hey guys i got a ppg straight cut dogbox and using the redline lightweight shockproof in it at the moment, im finding when its cold it drives smooth as but once warm it tends to crunch abit even when driving it hard, its a very very new box so shouldnt be anything wear and tear related i hope, im thinking either the oil is wrong type and getting too thin when hot? 1st to 2nd when giving it a boot full is a big cruncher too i cant stop it any info appreciated
-
hey guys i need a favour if one of you dont mind... I just bought a rb26 engine and pulled the head off and underneath it on the deck it has a small sticker in japanese, im assuming it says something about the head being reconditioned or something? this is the sticker, hopefully the pic is clear enough to read... any ideas what it says exactly? thanks a heap

Few Dyno Run Vids Of The New 26 And K5-660r
unique1 replied to STATUS's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks Trent for some reason i thought it was one of the KKR china turbos lol, i didnt notice the Blitz bit -
i find my vbands on my tial gate screamer pipe and one on the hks t04z turbo to exhuast both leak from looking at them when removed, i have one further down the exhuast and that doesnt leak, any ideas to stop them leaking? they fit up perfect so its not like the fitment of the exhuast isnt right.

Few Dyno Run Vids Of The New 26 And K5-660r
unique1 replied to STATUS's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
nice results, so this is about the same as a gt3540 in size i presume? whats the turbo worth and what flange does it have? are these gonna last long term or havent u tested these turbos over a long period yet? -
i know this may be a silly question but Gary if u had to choose between a gtst and gtr for circuit and had an unlimited budget would u still go for a gtst? i dont have an unlimited budget but am still undecided on which way i wanna go. say your pushing 450kw at wheels with a rb26 and t04z (good power between 4200rpm-9000rpm) and have a gtr ppg dogbox already would u ever considering using a gtst? do u think i would get any advantage with a gtr over gtst with that combo? I dont know if you know Barbegallo Raceway in perth but this is the track i would be running on 99% of the time and possibly the track down at Collie but only on rare occasions. I can either... use the ppg box with cut off tf case for rwd and my engine as is making 450kw in gtst? use the ppg box with cut off tf case for rwd and my engine with a gt3540 making around 360kw in gtst? or ppg box and 450kw engine combo in a gtr? im soo unsure and keep trying to convince myself on either options its driving me crazy lol

great work guys i love these buildup threads they make me want to get into a similiar project myself, im suprised about the tyre well being so heavy thats a good find, i had a mate do a similiar project to a ma70 supra (strip it excessively for trackwork) and he managed to get it from the factory weight of 1600kg (something like that), down to an amazing 1180kg, its pretty much got only the essential parts and no excess wiring etc, this weight was without the cage though so that would add in abit of weight. Just goes to show how much excess weight can be removed from a car when u go the whole way starting from scratch and just using the parts needed. Im guessing 1350kg because that cage looks pretty substantial how much would a cage like the one in your car weigh? do u guys have any idea what the complete engine and box weigh roughly? how much did all the sound deadening weigh up to or didnt u bother weighing it? how come u guys never consider a smaller single turbo and ext gate? response as good as twins and the ease of working on it cant be ignored imo, simplifes things a hell of a lot. only need 1 dump pipe as well good luck and look forward to the updates

Another Wheel Fitment Question
unique1 replied to msports180's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
hey Neil from my understanding the autech has alot different wheel fitment on the rear to the normal rs4 so i wouldnt judge info from fitment on a rs4 it wont be the same, the autech allows for more aggresive offsets but unfortunately i dont have one myself so i cant help with specific fitment.
