Ok what you need to do is go down to Supercrap autos or Autobarn and buy some 5watt wedge type globes. They are also known as parker globes. The standard ones are dim at 3.8 watts.
Take your dash cluster out and replace the bulbs with the 5 watt types. Make sure you do use the blue covers on them as it makes the light more "white" as opposed to orangy yellow crap the wedge bulbs emit.
There are some brands of whiter brighter globes available like Phillips blue vision parkers but I dont know where to buy these.
If this doesnt help there is a fault somewhere.
um. dont listen to these people they are biased
if you want a manual, buy a manual. dont buy an auto and try the conversion. There are a million R33's out there to buy.
Same happened to me. You are looking at 90 dollars to fix it which involves taking it out and finding a place near to you or about $100 - $150 on buying a replacement odometer.
Its only worth fixing if you can spare the time. I think it's much better idea to replace it if you can find one with similar K's on it.
Oh and they break because they've been wound back... which you knew since you have a 93 R33 with HAHAH 64200kms on it
Yeah luckily it hasnt been an issue yet because everytime i pull the power all i lose is the "boost controller" setting since im using the base map.
For now im running the stock ECU though since on the base map the knock detection goes over 80 sometimes (only did it once but took it off after that).
Ill open it up to see if there is a replaceable power cell.
I installed it myself. It's quite simple as long as you have the wiring diagram from the manual. All you really need is:
- A test light/probe or a multimeter
- A phillips head screwdriver
- Some scotch locks/wire hijacking thingamajigs
- Pliers
- Wire stripper
about an hours work to it.
I was running 245/40R18 on the front of my R33 GTSt. No problems at all.
The problem is more likely to be the offset. Your mileage may vary.
My wheels are from a 350z so I dont know about your wheels.
Check the Garret catalogue here:

but dont expect it to tell you exactly which turbo you need.
