Hey cool Chiba isnt a bad place. I was staying in Chiba-ken until yesterday, in a smaller town called Soga. I also noticed a lack of Skylines around Chiba but saw a lot in Kyoto. Would love to live in Japan for a while...
  4. Heres my "Nissan in Japan at springtime" photo  Too bad its just a March Thats my rental car that I drove around the Shikoku mountain passes
  5. I was looking for lenses and stuff for my Nikon D100 which is digital SLR but not really a 'pro' camera. So i guess to qualify my statement i could add that Akihabara is fine to get cameras and your average accessories for point and shoot cameras. But I find in Shinjuku the camera gear was of far greater availability and a wider variety from point and shoot to pro SLR stuff worth $10k+.
  6. Heres the links ive found useful in Japan: http://www.mapion.co.jp/ - a japanese address finder. Helps to navigate the weird addressing system they use here. http://www.superautobacs.com/top/index.html - super autobacs store locations http://www.upgarage.com/index.html - up garage store locations http://www.kakaku.com/ - Japanese price guide site. Very accurate and matches street prices found in places like Akihabara. http://www.jnto.go.jp/eng/GA/ - Japanese tourism website in english. Official government one. Awesome info here. http://www.japanrailpass.net/eng/en01.shtml - Official site for the JR pass. http://grace.hyperdia.com/cgi-english/hyperd01.cgi - Japan Rail timetables and route planner. Very good way to plan trips around the country. All in english too.
  7. Im in Japan now and finding electronic stuff is really easy. Just get yourself to Tokyo JR station then take the Yamanote (platform 5) line to Akihabara station and follow the signs to Akihabara electric town. You cant miss it. Stay away from the big stores like Sofmap, LAOX i reckon as they charge a fair bit more (up to 5000 yen) more than the side streets. The big stores do duty free though if you want to save 5% more. They dont really haggle down prices though. Right now im in Shinjuku (Again, Yamanote line from Tokyo, platform 4 this time though) and this is definatly the place to get Camera stuff. Akihabara is really horrible for camera gear. Theyll sell you a camera but they dont stock any of the accessories. Shinjuku is great though. Exit the West side of the station and find Yodobashi camera store. Cant miss it is neon city. Its a great store. I just spent 500 bucks there. If you can get a Japanese address sorted out then most stores have a points card you can get to save 10% or more. I just made one up, helps if you can write Kanji for that though.
  8. I have 18"s now but would love to go back to 17"s. The ride is noticibly different and you can feel that extra inch of sidewall that goes missing. Tires also are harder to find and a lot more expensive in 18"s. 17"s are also cheaper initially to buy.
  9. Interesting to see how Cefiro is spelt in katakana safui-ro Good car though

    R35 Gtr

oh god, delete thread end yourself
  11. Series 2 has a bit of an ugly front bar with less airflow for a fmic.
  12. go to www.yousendit.com and upload it then post the link here. free hosting for files < 1gb
  13. Any plans to make lips for the R33 GTS25t type-M front bar?
  14. I've been following the whole G35, G35X, Coupe, Sedan thing for a while now. If they were bringing the G35X out in the coupe there would be a lot more news about it. The infiniti website makes no mention of an AWD coupe: http://www.infiniti.com/content/model/Mode...,,30568,00.html but they do list the AWD option on the sedan: http://www.infiniti.com/content/model/Mode...,,30648,00.html Maybe you can find some more info/pics?
  15. do a search this has been covered one hundred and fifty million billion times.
  16. I think you should just move down under.
  17. The lack of basic literacy really gets to me on this forum. The next person who starts a thread and misspells the subject of the title should be taken out back and shot. Yes this means you "HOW MUCH DOES INSUREENCE COST??S?!?!$!@" man. Basically if you can't spell it you shouldn't be entitled to it.
  18. Block heater? sounds crazy. im glad i never have to drive the skyline in the snow. that would be crazy.
  19. Have heard of the Disco potato. It's listed in the Garret catalog (GT28RS). 1. Get the Skyline. 2. Get the GTS-t Type-M with the mods already on it out of Japan (at LEAST exhaust and maybe FMIC) 3. HICAS is ok, you might find it makes the handling slightly unpredictable at autocross. 4. 91 Octane canadian is about 95 or so octane in Australia? What are your options for fuel? Most of us here run 98 octane all the time. 100 in Japan. Keep in mind that a 15 year old car like the GTS-t is going to be kinda rough coming from Japan and budget for that. Parts are going to be costly for you as well. At least with the 180sx there was the 240sx model locally and the SR20/CA18 scene is pretty well established over there. But the skyline will give you the unique factor.
  20. Nor is it a 400R. It looks like a GTS25t with a fiberglass bodykit. A bad one at that.
  21. I believe it was a R32 GTR shell. It's sold now anyway.
  22. I believe there were some diesel R30 and R31 Skylines in Japan. Perhaps this engine saw use in those as well. Will get back to this thread with more info.
  23. I doubt the RB24 would be a realistic upgrade path since there would be next to none of these available in the country and even very few available overseas.
  24. Well the RB25DET runs pretty rich with the factory ECU so some popping would be pretty normal id think. Especially after a quick squirt.
