  1. Here's a link : http://www.fc-datalogit.co.nz/fc-datalogit.html
  2. No, thats why the NZ guys have PFC Datalogit
  3. If you put a T-piece into the fuel regulator hose for the boost guage and it has a leak you will see bad problems, possibly like the ones you experience now. I see a lot of people plumb their boost guages there and i dont see the logic. 30cm away at the back of the plenum is a hose to the factory boost sensor you can just as easily plumb into.
  4. Chrome paint is pretty crap, even the expensive cans lose their lustre very quickly when exposed to ... anything really... you can't sand it back for a smoother finish because you take away the chrome-ness of it and you cant spray clear over the top either because it does the same. This is my experience.
  5. The R33 has one of them in the boot behind a panel where the power antenna is located. I still dont know what it is.
  6. Resistor(?) was the engine from an auto car?
  7. Well the thing about the PowerFC is that you don't need to worry about it retarding the timing unnecessarily because it doesn't. It doesn't react in any way to input from the knock sensors, it just feeds the information back to the driver to do something with.
  8. Bing. I'd say alternator too.
  9. A black V35 350GT looks very nice in the flesh. The americans have no taste, those chrome 5zigen rims manage to make the brembo's look small and generally ugly the whole car up.
  10. What intercooler are you using?
  11. The R33 -> R34 GTT intercooler swap is an excellent cheap mod. It bolts straight on and the volume increase is definately worth it. The best part though is the better airflow you get through the GTT core since the end tanks are larger and better designed. The R33 intercooler seems awkward in comparison.
  12. I would look to pay a bit more than that for a decent 100,000km service. I'm not saying you have to take it to one of those places that change $1k for the service but you want it done properly.
  13. Good point. I wonder if good tuning and a healthy set of plugs would do the same thing.
  14. I love Yodobashi... and the Biccamera toy dept in Tokyo is good too. Loads of good model cars.
  15. Oh i forgot to mention, he also claims a increase in low end torque (this is where it got interesting for me). Some retuning/timing alteration may be needed to take into account the different combustion, no big deal for many of us.
  16. Flicking through channels last night I came accross the ABC show "New Inventors". On this show they talked to a man (Daniel Callaghan) who claimed his invention of a new kind of spark plugs can reduce emissions of certain types of pollutants from internal combustion engines. The spark plugs are called "Greenfire" and instead of arcing across a gap they ignite fuel inside small "venturi" tubes at the end of the plug. The result is a flame instead of a small arc which they say results in a better burn, more complete combustion. Can't email this guy as his website (http://www.greenfire.com.au/) does not list his address but just wanted to know before I go calling him if anyone here has any opinions on this idea/device? What are the effects of forced induction on this thing? He doesn't specifically mention that anywhere. Links: http://www.greenfire.com.au/ http://www.abc.net.au/newinventors/txt/s1128892.htm
  17. I use the brant plus every other thing i can stick on. Good lock nuts, good steering club lock, mobile phone alert (same as mentioned in another thread - dials my mobile when alarm is activated). If I owned my own house I would install those retractable metal poles in my garage as well. Defence in depth.
  18. I remember a while back some of us talked about this, if you have a PowerFC or other aftermarket ECU you can limit the revs from there to some low amount.
  19. ill take the shocks. Ill PM you now. Will pay postage.
  20. Brant stuff is ok. It is mildly overhyped but you get a discount if you're a club member. I think the Nemesis is a bit overkill and the AA model (3 immobilizers and no keypad) is enough for an R33 GTSt... I would maybe shop around a bit more first. My 2c.
  21. A good wax that is available in stores in Australia is Meguires number 26. It's the one in the beige bottle without all the marketing crap on it. Don't know if it had been mentioned already. Also, as it was already pointed out, a clay bar should only be used maybe twice a year, the exceptions are when: - a bird shits on the car and it dries up - you park under a tree that is dripping pollen all over your paint Remember to lube up good and then park in a garage and you shouldn't need it that often.
  22. i took mine out, even turned all the way up it was still dimming my dash too much. I do not understand why theyre a necessity?
  23. The comparison to locally delivered ITR is valid since that's what the majority of cars here would be. We would compare locally delivered Skyline to locally delivered ITR if you like? DC2 vs. R32 GTR both locally delivered? I dont know the outcome, you would be the best person to ask I guess.
  24. I drove one a bit. I admit it was an '03 model so it's supposed to be "slower" than the '00. But by how much? Is it THAT much of a margin to say my feelings are going to be way off. My feeling is that its a slow car that needs to be wound out to the very top of its top end before it gets moving. I have raced the same car when the Skyline was stock, from a standing start the ITR was behind quite considerably. By the time he was revving to 900000 rpm or whatever it takes to get one of those things moving i was already in second and leaving him behind.
  25. Dude the car does Nkm/h at Xrpm regardless. You will not change this without changing the gear ratios in the gearbox or the diff.
