  1. its funny to read how it seems most workshops are saying to use a large single throttle body when most of the countries 9 sec cars run stock manifolds??? its easy to see that theres more than enough there if it can do 9's
  2. i didnt say induction noise i clearly said TURBINE. the turbine does make its own whine u know it is a very high pitched noise and it sounds nothing like leakin exhaust.. almost all aftermarket dumps do it because they are very thin compared to the cast iron stock dumps and thats why theyre so noisey. its fairly standard i see it all the time

  5. thie high pitch noise is just the turbine wheel spinning up. nothing unusual. my 180sx did it after dump pipe, and my rx7 as well, as well as my mates 200sx and my gtr. leakin exhaust gasket doesnt do anything for back pressure.. the turbine does most of the back pressure (80%+) so if u have a leak after it, then it doesnt matter.. hence y race cars run just a massive straight pipe from the back of the turbo to the side of the car..

  7. oil level has nothing to do with ur turbo burning oil... lol thats the dumbest thing ive ever read hahah if theyres oil pressure.. the turbo will burn oil. its not a cup that over spills if theres too much water in it.. geez hahah only way that it wont.. is if theres no oil pressure, and that kills ur engine more than ur turbo
  8. the wont be running too hard i dont think. im really just after a bulletproof bottom end rather than the highest power figure in the world... reliability i think is the word?? hahah im gonna go with 2.5 thou then and i always use teflon additives (slick 50 and my does it work) as well as top quality oils

  11. u dont need a reg if u use injectors.. regs r used to increase fuel pressure in the lines to increase the injectors ability to flow.. so more pressure = more flow
  12. damn thats cheap hahahah i wouldnt go forgies if his only chasing 300rwhp.... im thinkin of slowing down on my project.. coz i thought about it.. am i really going to want 500awkw on something im suppose to drive daily?? things get outta hand pretty quickly down.. slow down and think about what u really need, unlike myself.. now i have to reassess everything.. so far its up to 15k
  13. i tried that already and there was no spec sheet apparently.. and i called up hks and they couldnt help me.. they said that i needed to purchase the pistons directly frmo them for specs, otherwise no. so hks australia wont help me, even thou i have theyre product.. nowhere else to turn to but the forums and hope for the best

  15. dont listen to the ppl tellin u to change ur oil. its not ur oil. its the sender unit. mine also did the same.. i shit myself real bad when i first noticed it.. it was @ 0 @ idle.. but after a few days i noticed that even when its on 0.. the light doesnt come on.. u know why?? because they run 2 seperate systems. 1 fails.. the other doesnt. put an aftermarket gauge on it and ull see the difference

  18. well i need to know the exact clearances as im not building a slapper motor. this thing will be making some serious power so it needs to be exact. Thanks for ur advice dude. hope anyone else has something to add?

  21. get bores checked for roundness. if they are still perfectly round (which isnt uncommon) then stick with std size. but u will still need to get the bores machined out to suit the new forged pistons (even if its just .001 thou)
  22. if the bores are around then why bother boring it out? boring it out doesnt make it "better" or "fresher" because after a bore, u hone it anyway. and ur going to hone the standard bores anyhow.
  23. that sounds slight oil... ive had that before on drift cars.. after going out for a real hard drive, they start to smoke like as if the turbos blown, but it was just the excessive oil vapours gettin sucked into the inlet via the pvc and getting burnt in the motor then out the exhaust.. they went away after lettin the car cool down. does urs do that as well?

My gtr doesnt do any funny stuff at all when its cold... ever its never done anything funny at any stage... ever its gotta be something else, not ecu related possible its a sensor malfunction that the fc doesnt rely on heavily.. like the knock. factory ecus run the cars off the knock whether the fc doesnt. atleast from what ive read. theyre like a switch.. either its knocking or its not knockin enough for it show up *shrugs*
  25. any know what clearances HKS pistons (87mm step 2) like to run?? i know all about the rule of thumb clearances but some pistons like a lil more than others (material dependant) so i need to know what clearances the HKS step 2 87mm pistons runs on an rb26
