  1. Sounds like something is loose. I dont think ser 1 had oem xenons. Id check all the wiring and the ballast units. Its prob moving under braking and causing a short.
  2. Thats where u went wrong. Mufflers are to reduce noise, resenators reduce drone (also known as resenence). 1 look at 90% of the jap exhausts will show them with 1 good muffler and a cannon (which is a resenator). Cut off the 2nd muffler and get a cannon or any other resenator and it will be 100 times nicer. After a really bad droning exhaust being made by a shop. Ive done 4 different exhausts on my stageas trying to find what works best to reduce drone, the resenator and muffler combo works best.
  3. Hey mate, welcome onboard. Firstly the biggest thing round here is the search feature. Using it will help u lots and avoid flamings. Try the sau business traders (such as just jap) as they have exhausts for stageas. Theres lots of options so search, search, search.
  4. U may be finished with this build, but id bet $$ to doughnuts you'll be building a better 1 as soon as u find a suitable candidate (and convince the mrs to let u buy another).
  5. This has been covered so many times its not funny anymore. A simple search would give you all the info you will need. I will say though. Be prepared to spend over $10k if u want a gtr front.
  6. This is one of the most educated things ive heard on the topic. Just as a side note, if your going to get a wheel alignment and the aligner mentions "road camber" just walk away. As somebody thats worked on building roads of all types for years, i can categorically say that all road cambers are different. thats before you consider things like bumpsteer, potholes or other road damage. Setting up every car that comes into your shop to automatically pull right isnt just irresponsible, its down right dangerous!! Every car must be individually aligned to suit the customers needs. If they are unwilling to setup the car the way you request, go elsewhere.
  7. Has anyone ever got a c34 bonnet in the back of a c34?? I couldnt! Lucky its got roofracks most i ever carried was 3 sets of wheels when i was getting rid of old crap i didnt want. Wish i took a pic cos it was a snug fit.
  8. We should organise a cruise out there and have a play.
  9. Yeah i get around alot and it is a ser2 with a ser1 front.
  10. +1 for the npc clutch. I have 1 in mine and its great for a daily. Shout out for ERD for the install as well!
  11. Im not sure if the build plate is correct on an autech cos ive heard they still say rb25 when they have an rb26. But diff ratio is on the build plate. Its identified by an RC then 2 digits (eg. RC41). The 2 numbers is the ratio to 1 (eg. RC41= 4.1:1).
  12. hi everyone as it says chasing a whole set of axles. dont car if they are totally cactus. just need em to keep the wheels on while i get the car rebuilt. prefer brisbane. pm me.
  13. sorry guys im out. because i wanted so many i got the good price over the counter. thanks though
  14. on topic heres a better pic of how my roof looks completly welded.
  15. I hope u dont stay away forever darrin. I know those ideas r in the back of ur mind
  16. Definately syncros. Its only gonna get worse over time. Its rebuild time unless u want to roll the dice on a 2nd hander. If u want them to last longer u may want to take up granny shifting and no more high rpms.
  17. I think u'll find a 3540 way to big to be practical in a stagea. With stags being so heavy it will fairly laggy with a 25. The idea of clutch kicking to get rid of lag might work for cop bait morons in rwd skylines, but with and awd stagea ur just gonna keep burning out clutches or breaking stuff. For your power goal id go way smaller. even a 3071 is more than ud want. Save your 3540 for a big $$$$$ dirty 30!
  18. Where r these coming from location wise?? Cos postage could be a killer. Pending postage to bris being reasonable, i'd be keen for 4 units.
  19. Has it been raining much in your area recently?? I had the same thing with my car a while back. It had been raining for weeks and i noticed 1 day that the carpet was damp. The water was getting in somewhere (unfortunately i didnt find it), but as soon as the rain stopped it dried out. No matter how much i ran the hose over the car, i never found where it was getting in.
  20. +1 for this!! If u got 3 kids, eventually u will need the wagon space. The 260RS is by far the best choice.
  21. Thats a reminder! I usually change to stainless bolts on exhausts cos if u ever need to pull the exhaust off (which u will if ur on a hunt for power. Changing gearboxes and diffs etc.) they wont be rusted up.
  22. I gotta agree with that. A good penetrant will help. Mine came loose without it, but every car is different. Just allow yourself the whole weekend and u'll definately get it done. Just take the cat off 1st. Then work your way forward. Its alot easier from under the car so ull want to get it up on stands with enough room to move round. Take ur time and remember if u get frustrated u'll break stuff. So walk away, clear ur head and give it another go.
  23. The stageas are built well mate. Mines just passing 210,000kms with nothing but regular servicing. Including alot of hard driving and even a few track days. Except for a clutch which is the result of abuse with the front shaft out
  24. Dont worry about taking it to an exhaust shop. U wont learn anything that way. Buy urself a set of spanners, a pair of stands, a jack and change the front pipe and cat yourself. Its literally a dozen bolts. Even a total novice could knock it out in 1 day and it will save on the reaming u'll get from the exhaust shop.
  25. I had the same idea. Vq40 turbo with awd manual in an M35 ud be dusting r35's!!
