  1. damn.... i just messed myself. that is a nice pair of zipps.
  2. i can highly recommend a hilux... but not the work mate.. yeh they are cheap... but you'd be better off spending the same amount on a slightly older, higher spec'd model.. hiluxs are seriously unbreakable.. and id go a turbo diesel if i had the choice, the v6 is a bit cumbersome, and feels very heavy, and the 2.7 petrol is gutless as a peewee 50. i take it your just looking for a tray back, single cab, 2wd?? nothing else really beats a hilux in comfort vs ability.. some utes are great as utes, but drive like shit... aka, mazda b2600, nissan navara, holden rodeo. for that sort of money, you could near have yourself a nice Holden SS ute.. very little goes wrong with them, great to drive (for a ute) very comfortable, bit of poke.. fits 2 motocross bikes in with the tailgate up. ive had an ss before, ive had a b2600, ive currently got a 98' rodeo with alloy tray.. and i was a mechanic at toyota for 6 years.. so ive driven just about every hilux ever made.. and id have one but the rodeo is a company truck.
  3. Schuey should leave it, he went out as one of, if not, the greatest driver of this decade.. he will be forever remembered as that.. if he comes back, he will fizzle out and be forgotton... like that guy in america... what was his name... ... ummmm... he had some cool shoes... and did big leaps... ahh i cant remember him... did he play baseball??? nooo.... i think he did something else... then went to baseball... ahh, what was his name?? big black guy.. did something with bulls i think. i hope ferrari has a better season next year... and i hope they all lose those stupid looking wheel covers.. they are homo.
  4. sorry to hear about your rabbit mate... i love all animals, great and small.. and would do anything for my dogs.. hate people though, people are the scum of the earth. modena.. you sound like a real toss mate.. hopes and dreams are different per person, noones are bigger or smaller than anyone elses... just different. taxes are meant to make the country better, not be dodged.. i hope the rumours about changing the tax breaks go ahead. and i admire exotics from afar... thats what makes them exotic... if they were attainable... then they'd hardly be exotic.. they are just another car, no different from my ageing skyline.. just with 600bhp. Mark is spot on the money, family, friends, and pets, and happiness is what really matters in life.
  5. hey kyle couldnt you just pull the handbrake on in your driveway and let the clutch out in 1st?? if the engine dies down, clutch is ok.. if the engine doesnt die as you let the clutch out.. clutch is bad. bit better than messing around with the brakes at 4/5th gear speeds.
  6. what is your boost guage doing?? is the car laggy?? as in boostwise?? or lethargic?? as in just doesnt feel like its going anywhere when you put your foot down?? if the gears are crunching etc.. and you have to rev it to 3000rpm to get out of your driveway... the clutch could well and truly be farked.. which would make it feel like it was very lethargic as the engine would be revving as normal, but only 50% of that would be making it to the rear wheels.. are there any weird or disgusting smells?? if your exhaust manifold is leaking, you will see a black soot or burn mark on nearby components.. aka, on the firewall, or on the head or cam covers. given that it doesnt have any modifications, therefore, there is little chance of things being tinkered with and coming undone.. id be pointing at clutch.. it is the only wear item and are due for replacment at anything over 100000kms. if you have a vacuum leak, you should be able to hear a hissing noise on idle.. or a boosting noise on boost. spray some carby cleaner around all your vacuum lines and see which one makes the engine die down a bit. now heres something that noone has mentioned yet... if your clutch is slipping, then there is less load being placed on the engine, so the more you put your foot down, the more the clutch slips... rather than having the load of the gbox diff and wheels.. so the engine is under what it thinks as less load.. so the turbo wont boost as hard.. like when your driving up a hill, if you put your foot down, the turbo will boost up almost instant, as there is alot of load being placed on the engine, more fuel, more exhaust, quicker boost. dont forget the difference between turbo response and turbo lag. its two different things that a commonly misdiagnosed. turbo response is when you put your foot down, and how soon it responds and starts to spin faster. turbo lag is when you put your foot down and it starts to spin faster, how long it takes for the turbo to actually start producing a positive boost pressure. cheers Linton
  7. i had the same trouble when getting my bike licence... i was restricted to L plater legal bikes... aka... crap. or so i thought.. i tried every angle to get around it, couldnt be done without just risking it and going out on a big bike and hoping for the best. and i have been riding motocross bikes since i was a wee fella. doing all the research, i ended up with a little aprillia rs125.... top speed... 130km/hr. one day i went for a quick ride on a mates cbr929 fireblade.. which will eat 130km/hr in second gear.. it was just plain scary.. my brain couldnt handle the severe acceleration and obscene speed and everything was literally a blur.. youd just get a grip on where you were on a straight, and a corner would jump up out of nowhere... sure you'd get used to it, but where do you go then??.. whereas my aprilia with its severe lack of weight and revvy nature was just plain fun, i could ring it out and feel like i was going fast... but only be just over the speed limit.. i could rev it out and launch it without worrying about it wheelstanding or flipping out. to say the least, im on the lookout for another aprilia rs125.. you dont need power to have fun, you dont need a turbo to have fun. all you need is a decent chassis, good brakes, good suspension, and good tyres.
  8. had anyone thought to wind the motor over with the plug out and see if it comes out the way it came in?? i lost a chunk of throttle plate in my WR... it was a common problem apparantly.. chunk of alloy went through the engine, got gobbled up, mangled and destroyed.. and spat out the exhaust. i was 10 min from home and 10 min from work when it happened so i kept on my way to work... it revved like mad due to the hole in the throttle for a good 10 min.. and while it was goin i rode it as fast as possible to get off it asap.. put a new throttle plate in and started her up.. and away she went... happy days.. good compression, good power.. felt like it went harder too.. some engines are weak... some can swallow a small socket and just spit it out the exhaust.. but then again... ive seen the tiniest bit of porcelan completly shatter a rear window due to its hardness.

    R35 Gtr's!

    ptooey!
  10. question... yours was the white r33?? tri spokish rear wheels?? burgandy under the bonnet??? very filthy?? if so... i loved that car.. it had alot of character.
  11. hey monkeys and monkeyettes. i ripped some stuff out of my r32... the power steering system is up for grabs... everything... resovior, pump, complete steering rack, hicas valve, cooler, all lines, hicas valve at rear, hicas rack (minus the tie rods), all items in good working order when removed.. will post anything anywhere... maybe not the hard hicas lines but we'll see. let me know what you need and throw me an offer.. ill consider just about any offer. also have the complete a/c system, all in good working order, condensor, external fan, lines, a/c compressor, evaporator core, control unit.. same as above, will post stuff anywhere, throw me an offer for what you need.. its just sitting there so ill take anything. also got the entire boot trim... side panels and carpet.. apparantly these are well sought after or something, always see em on ebay with bids. also got a gtst boot spoiler, good nick, gunmetal grey.. will swap for pez or coffee. may swap for random shit aswell.. you never know. i like random garage junkett, nostalgic shit, ps2 games, etc. cheerio Linton
  12. thats tops mate... theres a couple of things id fix up or remove. but overall its a great attempt. well done. 1. the walk around at the rear... the camera is shaky and you can see your shadow + the cars arent loud enough to warrant quieting the music 2. the playing with the head unit.. fingers, no good. 3. the walking with the r33 on launch, bit el tacko. 4. the camera is very shaky in the still shots. overall if you stopped it at 1.19 youd have a great little vid. LOVE THE J POP!!!!! reminds me of a good car commercial, like the mazda ones.
  13. i was probably his biggest critic... even though the decision had absolutly nothing to do with me.. i agree with bakes now how the gold started to look a little tacky.. the new silver centres.. althought slightly bland, give the car a new found "classiness" and a timeless look that, love it or hate it, is simply epic. still think they should be 19x11 -3 though. hahahahaha.
  14. i like this one the best... you can see neil (thats neil isnt it??) stating to duncan about how awesome bakes car is (i dont remember the remark good enough to quote him)... they were walking as if they were on a mission and then just stopped in their tracks, looked at it for a second, and continued on. cheers Linton
  15. become a paying member of sau and you get them cheapy mc cheap.
  16. so thats who Tyler Durdan worked for...
  17. hey guys... my power windows have shat themselves and in the search for any weight reduction possible i want to remove the power window regulators and shit from the car... the car is going to be pretty unbearable so having to wind down the windows manually will be the least of my problems. were r32s ever released with non power windows?? or can you just get a random wind up regulator from another 2 door and graft it in?? the is a shit load of metal in the r32 doors and i will be bracing them and removing any unneccessary sheet metal. cheers Linton
  18. laid my vote... can i go for a lap now?? haha. thats a hard pick though, your up there with the greats... like panspeed, the cusco wrx, the rev rx7... some epic cars there. cheers Linton
  19. top work mate... looks perfect.. can i make one suggestion maybe.... have you thought about tinting your clear cam belt cover?? your cam covers and plenum look great... but the belt cover looks to shiny and clearish... if you get some of the spray on tint that wankers use on their taillights etc.. and spray it from the inside... you'll still be able to see through it.. but it wont be so clear and perspexy i say that only because youve gone to the effort of repainting your other covers. cheers Linton
  20. looks good mate... very simple "jdm" styling of that era... i like!
  21. heres another one of bakes, and one of daves gtsr on the drive home.
  22. sorry, i didnt know we could be on the comittee, i would have put my hand up for sure.. im great at shooting my mouth off, really i am... just ask me.
  23. thats awesome to hear mate... well done. nice to hear someone wins every now and then.. thats gives hope to others. the raliegh go kart track near coffs is a decent sized track for some time sprints... hint hint.. sau nsw??
  24. to help you out a little.. i have used a cheap rubber "dress up" hose from my radiator tro overflow bottle for a long time and also for my breather pipes.. its had no dramas. its not silicon and is very flimsy but has held up for a few years now. proper silicon hoses can be used for coolant lines to a bleed bottle etc.. aslong as they are clamped good. they are usually 3mm thick and being silicon they are very heat resistent.
