  1. That would be the turbocharger air outlet tube(metal one) and outlet hose- thats all the engine manual says, sorry can't help you more. I know on mine there is a lower and upper hose so it wont be the elbow to intercooler (inlet) hose-lower but elbow from outlet tube-upper you should be safe- page EN-58 & EN-69 in JPNZ R32 Engine Manual
  2. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/m13684.html This guy has done this upgrade and used to have pictures of the pump/cradle pre and post install, send him pm he may still have pics performance-wise
  3. Can remember reading somewhere that you can use a RB26 clear cover & will also need the RB26 cam backing plate, hasn't been any for RB20 in my searches on this and I can't remember where I saw the kits, if I remember I will post who supplies em- just found it try kudosmotorsports
  4. No, I dont think they were, but I have seen plenty of bommadore's on car mag covers and that doesn't make them cool to own or great to drive either but we all love skylines here and they are great to drive & cool to own regardless of which it is
  5. At our last skid day with time trial & slalom, I believe all events were won by RWD over 4WD. This was probably due a factor that other than excellent out-of-the-hole acceleration displayed by the GTR it suffered in low speed low traction situations where rapid changes in direction were required. On the first slalom the R32 GTR I was up against had 5 car lengths on me straight up out of the hole but I beat him to the end of the course. I guess what I am trying to say is for a purpose built race car the GTR is outstanding, but we dont drive on race tracks everyday so when used correctly cars that seem alot less capable i.e Gtst's can perform equally as well. It always comes down to one thing. If you own a Nissan- regardless whether GTR or Gts or Gtst, it doesn't matter. What really matters is it's a SKYLINE. P.s I dont mind the look of the GTR in any model, but I prefer the handling of the R32 GTST so thats why I bought mine p.p.s My last car was a KE Tx3 4WD that had alot of suspension upgrades and midly modded motor. And if you want a quick car that destroys others on corners go buy one of those. It would eat my car or any GTR for breakfast on short tracks, so much fun to drive fast too once I learnt how to drive it properly via advance rally tuition, but hell it was uncomfortable to drive 600k's in 1 hit
  6. I have got the extra heavy duty on my r32 gtst and i find them pretty good on standard springs and shocks. However the car is more prone to 4 wheel sliding at relatively similar speeds but is very predictable and not so snappy. i.e used to let go very quickly. Car feels very flat and eliminated tire scrub felt at last skidpan day. Am about to upgrade suspension so will update further soon
  7. My search is still out also, will keep an eye on this thread to say fixed
  8. Have done that and search not working for me either- somethings rotten in the state of Denmark, happened right after server upgrade
  9. Gemma, welcome to the modifications bug lol, handy things to buy are Engine manual for referencing and breakdown of "how to" do anything from minor services to major overhauls. You can find them on disc or at JPNZ for a printed copy. Also dont be afraid to PM people about what they have done modifications wise and its effect. People like Sydneykid who are suspension guru's can advise you on best way to travel with handling and there are plenty of Site sponsors to get you the bits and pieces you will need to maintain a healthy skyline. Definitely participate in as many meetings or cruises as you can cause it helps put names to faces and learn upcoming events. keep an eye on the forums and just read things you see discussed between members as you will be surprised how much info is on here. Take part in track and skidpan days when they come up as often as you can for improving driver awareness and technique. Defensive driving courses are awesome too. I do one every year learning something new every time about me and my car. Most of all, research everything before you start something and do it completely the first time. You will save yourself $$$ by replacing $15 parts when its out rather than that bit failing just after you have had the major bits it supports rebuilt. Enjoy
  10. Great write up, This definitely needs to be stickied in mods section-pls admin pls
  11. Got r32 Gtst, prefer r32 Gtst, will only own r32 Gtst, but hey if you own a skyline your alright in my book
  12. Dont quote me on this and maybe someone with owners manual can confirm but I heard that they are supposed to be started with acc pedal depressed and without clutch being depressed. Variable fuel pump voltage-correct and no pre-load on the mainshaft and gearbox
  13. Everybody send them an email telling them what we all think of this decision. Do it politely tho, nothing makes a corporation nervous like hitting their backpockets by going to competitor especially if we all tell them we will do so if they decide its gone
  14. Mine doesnt have it, and it would be the first manufacture release I have seen with it, however most service centres here would write next change at 200k or place the sticker to say 100k done like that is. Pull the cover off and have a look, update post and put me outa my misery
  15. Yes it should mean that belt was changed, but, the only way to know for sure is to take the cover and have a look yourself. I have recently done a timing belt change and mine was about 40,000k's old when the 100k service was due, (damn those skyline odometers are spot on lol), Undo the fan and remove then you will have some space to get cover off(may need to take belts off also) mark all things that your not sure of with alignment lines to help put it back as you found it ie cam-timing sensor. You can get engine manuals from jpnz for around $150 and I would highly recommend one of those as it will help you save a shitload of cash not having to fork out for a mechanic
  16. You can try to set the tv to 60Hz, commonly used with game consoles these days, also the tv is only capable of 720p display output so set ps3 to that on your larger screen 1st, as you are already de-scaling the picture resolution from console as tv is 1366x768 maximum display resolution not 1980x1080p as your larger monitor is capable of. If all that fails get on the line to samsung customer support 1300# and they will talk you through setup
  17. There are various antennas on the market that have a dial to fine tune the reception, rabbit ears will work but will need tweeking via moving the ears the 4 points of the pole N/S/E/W and varying the heights of each and angle-signal moves throughout the day due to tv companies increase signal power for the signal drain when everyone is watching just like fm radio, I think vivitar do a dial adjustable antenna for indoor use, Go to Good Guys or Dick Smith and have a look. Another thing is dont use too many joiners and keep antenna away from power points and other power/speaker wires as they will pick up magnetic fields and create signal noise which will come through the picture
  18. Try kudosmotorsport.com & search on site
  19. Look under the car and find the fuel lines running to the boot. This will show you were to look in the boot. 2 or 3 10mm bolts to undo. Make sure your in a well ventilated area when you take em out and don't leave rags in the boot either-the petrol smell in car will stay there for months
  20. Yeah mate, count me in
  21. Toshi, I live on the Gold Coast but would travel to Brisbane if you are heading this way
  22. Get on the phone to the guys at ARC and have a chat, they may have some good info for what you need
  23. Have just done GB fluid change and I used Penrite SIN 75w-90, not sure what was in there be4 but first test drive the difference was noticeable and after the car warmed up I gave it a real pantsing, smooth gear changes and reduced transmission noise in the cabin-approx 2L used
  24. Firstly check the plugs are in & sufficiently tightened but not overtightened as they are a tapered thread, I have just done this service myself and used thread tape when replacing the bungs, as a matter of interest to any who read this thread I have used Penrite SIN 75w-90 in my box(RB20DET) and noticed an immediate difference in gear changes(being smoother) and a lowering of transmission noise inside the car. I will be trying the lightweight shockproof next to compare so I will post those results when that happens. I will be doing Diff change 2mrw and fitting large swaybars at the same time so will keep you all posted
