  1. Never heard of the Matic D stuff but id rather stick to either the v160 or transmax Z; Im using transmax in my transfer case and it feels great so in future ill be using it in my gearbox too. You have an amazing car and you only wanna stick to tried and proven fluids rather than taking the risky aadvice from a retail worker
  2. Ive been wondering bout this same question, thanks! BTW where would i buy a bonnet from now since JSAI seems to be poor on the customer service front; possible to buy dry carbon ones?
  3. Great to hear, i still have some of your cars pics as my desktop wallpaper Not selling mine anymore, wanted too at one stage cos it was my only car but i bought back my e46 BMW and a little getz as my daily's so the GTR stays as my fun/weekend car. I get the rattle too occasionally, dosent bug me too much...jst put the stereo on a lil louder hehe!
  4. I read an article on stock pfc maps for an s15 and they were very aggressive; i would assume that would be the same for most jdm imports too. You would feel more power but its probably running lean, a little too lean. in regards to knock, I see 14 on cold nights at higher throttle but can see 34 or so on a hot day.........want to add, was cruising on a rough road at 80km/h, pushed the clutch in and let the car coast while i reset the handcontroller and monitored the knocks and it still registered about 25 so it would be plausible to assume that roadnoise can influence knock to some degree.
  5. No roblem buying interstate as i bought my r34 gtr from sydney, jst make sure all questions are asked and photos emailed over; you can even organise professional car inspectors to go check all aspects of the ride and write up a detailed report with photos for about 300dollars transport can range from 400-800bux depending on the type but make sure insurance is added; when my gtr came from sydney it had a stone chip on the front bar and winshield but no problem as my insurance covered it for 1500ish bux.
  6. Hey mate, i had a 97 NA a while ago, tried to do some tuning and found the best mods are: stock airbox with panel filter, high flow cat with an exhaust if you like the sound and keep your maintenance up (oils, plugs etc) jst as a downer, i pop'd in a unichip and dyno tune to push out 78awkw which was quite dissapointing but tuning does pick up about 10kw in the low to midrange area if you have the cash to spend.
  7. I never tire of that video, looks like power shoots up after 5kish rpm; if it can make tsychia go woooooweee like a 10 year old boy im sure you will have your adrenaline rush.
  8. Its not my mate alain is it? he sold his r34 for an r32 vw BTW Tez I got my beema back, bought it back from who i sold it too.
  9. Yeah man, here too! the first 2 gears has a slight whine until it reaches operating temp and the rattle is from the upgraded clutch u have; very common problem which all aftermarket clutch manufacturers mention. The rattle is annoying bt jst push the clutch in and turn the car off and u wont get it. hope your car is going well huy, damn beautiful!!
  10. Its true, my bonnet is sold cos i wanted the ztune one so alot of people will have the same thoughts and yeah the rear bar was probably resprayed due to a crappy carpark driver (my front bar has been sprayed already and needs another one again; damn careless carparks grrrrr.)
  11. Im for the r33 simply cos the combo of torque and an auto gearbox is full proof for drag racing while the teg would require careful rev and clutch control for a proper launch. on another note, fabulous cars though! both of them
  12. Ive gone for the genuine toyota v160 atf - damn expensive but how often do u have to change it ey?
  13. +1 on the silver gtr; the rest are just pop'd collar pink polo top days
  14. Amazing car mate! i hope you have a daily as id hate to even think that someone would dent/key/bump it in a carpark.
  15. Hate that i cant park it anywhere and i cant just drive anywhere in case of potholes and inclines/declines lolz also hate that i had to fork out another 16k to buy a hyundai getz for a daily
  16. We forget the point of the skyline sometimes or any sportscar for that matter, I was really getting bored of my r34 gtr until i bought a hyundai getz as my daily drive so now when i take my car out on that cool clear night i really appreciate its intention, its ability to arrouse my wedding vedgetables lolz!

+1 ive been keeping an eye out
  18. i did in fact do this on my 200sx, took a while cause the internals are tough so a hammer and a large iron rod was used lolz. ps you will be surprised how much crud actually ends up in the bin
  19. smashes and scuff marks during DIY come with the territory ey. mine was done through the boot, lots of things to remove.
  20. was jst looking at mine last night and its not black, sorta a coarse brushed alluminium
  21. the golf is a very refined engine so that would be the top pick in my books, diesel is a very crude fuel and requires alot of engineering to make them run smooth for everyday use. The noise from VW is still there but because of the quality of the car itself, the noise in-cabin is kept to a minumum. solid design is what you want, the focus would be my next pick as its very nice but the build quality is not as good as the golf.
  22. wonder when vtec kiks in yo'
  23. Ive seen them on nengun.com for the genuine stuff; best you buy genuine for the sideskirts as possibly the fibreglass copies may crack under hard body flexing (cornering) *dont hold me to that though, jst my plausible theory*
  24. why not jst get a mouse to run on a little wheel in the engine bay to power the car. oh btw +1 on the rb30det or even the rb25/26
  25. + 1 with the gtr spoiler
