Hard discussion this, i went for the r34 gtr cos i thought it looked very exciting just standing still but like all new performance cars e.g. new bmw, wrx, evo etc they take a little time to get used to. true the r34 gtr has more aggressive lines but i think its all the hype of the r35 which makes it appealing

Johnny replied to Cruizer's topic in General Automotive Discussion
its true, although i got quite worked up over some stories....now i wont even watch it anymore cos i think we definitely need less stress in our lives. Especially the hoon stories...speed cameras.....dodgy police etc -

Im big on the audi rs4! i drove one about a year ago and highly recommend poping down to the dealer; jst be careful you dont leave a (white) deposit on it....lolz goodluck with the hunt mate ps: sorry but i just cant consider an evo as a replacement for your gtr; would be like going from eating beluga caviar to a tub of lard

good saying there Tez after seeing the pix of the finshed product, my first words exactly were "what the **** is that" especially with those poorman bling bling indicators

hey man, most people on here including me have used and will tell you that motul 300v is the best of the best in terms of quality but at 150ish bux for 5 litres its not cheap ive found that motul 8100 xcess is a great oil too at around 70bux; its 100% synthetic which has a high ranking out of all the oils too. if you can find a dealer: performancelub etc that sells redline, thats a great bet too.

So far out of the cars that ive owned, it seems that they car is only as reliable as you treat it (driven and serviced) my r34 gtr hasnt given me any problems but honestly the amount ive spent on servicing rivals repair cost on my other cars. my 03 bmw 325i was bought new and driven like a dream but it still didnt stop the coilpacks from going at 15000kms s15 broke the cams and rocker arms + the gearbox went at 30,000kms r33 gts was the most reliable car i had; 30,000kms of thrashing without a single issue ummm i just bought a hyundai getz as my daily; couldnt pass up on the 5 year warranty -
Im sure they will induct debris as big as a chip hehe....jokez Anyone got any back to back testing info on dry filters? I generally stick to brand name jap parts cos im paranoid
-
I wouldnt mind a light tint on my headlights after a nice cleanup; the left xenon light on my r34 gtr has a small amount of 'foggy' whatever on the top. The coloured ones im not a fan of has anyone ever seen a nissan x-trail with blue tints on the headlights? factory option?

good idea hehe *unscrews stock cat casing* Expect flames and puffs of black smoke with the decat pipe but there is definitely a noticible power gain to be had over the terribly small/restrictive stock cat.

Lolz, good one! +1 apexi - used one in the stock airbox before i changed to apexi pods.

ill give a plug to bug and tar remover, the turtle wax brand as you put it on and it seems to break it down very quickly.

Only issue ive had is hot/cold start issues; im sure if you have a good tuner, they could rectify that problem. on the upside, they are a great priced ECU that can deliver; I use one in my GTR and im fairly happy with it + the hand controller is great.

Hey guys, just bought an xbox 360 in a pack with some games i dont like so i might as well sell them. All played only once; after 50bux each. Kane & Lynch: Dead Men Halo Wars Assassins Creed

Its true the pfc is the most widely tuned ecu's and people can push huge hp figures out of them; im using one now in my gtr and its been hassle free (except for cold start and hot start issues) the hand controller is an added bonus too to constantly check your temps and knocks that new vipec ecu looks great and i wouldnt hesitate going for one of those if i didnt already have the fc.

I did this once on my old r33 back in the day with some flex pipe; did in fact make a great difference to response BUT Gave the pipe to my friend who had a vl; he relocated his pod to the front and after driving through a puddle, his engine seized anyways just thought id share cos id say ratio of benefits to risk = not worth it

One little thing thats common is people who trade japanese parts and dont supply any aftermaket support/warranty/repairs. its not the first thing you think of but defninitely comes in handy to ask before buying. No harm done though, especially on your motor! a little annoyed, definitely but in a couple of weeks you will forget bout the extra cash spent on setting the car up right and be wiser to check everything before you buy/install ps: thanks for the heads up to check components before they are installed + traders links to manufacturers

Krunk Noise When Fully Steered To The Right?
Johnny replied to Luckieee's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
if its a gtr or gts-4 ive found that crap quality front tyres lose grip and because they are full locked/almost full locked they shudder. It used to happen all the time in my gts-4 when it rained (round abouts and uturns) I was running sava intensa front tyres. -
Nice read, thanks for sharing! Why are you studying it for?
-
diesel engines have turbos just like petrol ones, dont see why it wouldnt flutter or have a bov. modified examples are comming up now as diesel engine blocks run high compression and are cast iron + i read somewhere that diesel has a high tolerance to detonation so you can run high boost levels e.g. f250 trucks in the U.S. running great quarter mile numbers. drive next to a truck, you can hear plenty of induction noise/rushes of air off-throttle
-
+1 for creatd; Rob/Danny was very nice and did a great job on my GTR, they will be getting my car when im ready to install new turbos/retune for an engine build, id probably go racepace since they have staged packages already setup and plenty of RB experience. Wouldnt hesitate to book in with Status tuning as Trent has given me some great advice on the forum and plenty of happy customers.

wow reminds me of the guy who decided to insert running water into his engine to 'clean it up' while he did an oil change...anyone remember this thread?
