  1. what battery did you buy??? dry cell? ummm off topic but your profile says you have an rb26 echo? as in toyota echo or am i way off
  2. Lmao, he's probably just pissed off cos he dosent actually own a gtr
  3. I have the same problem with mine, i thought my pads were worn but when i got them checked by the mechanic, he said there was plenty of meat on the pads (which are nismo branded on the stock discs) I bought bendix ultimate pads as a replacement so hopefully they will fix the squeeling + ill machine the discs to make them level.
  4. Apexi was ranked best in terms of filtration vs airflow against all the other manufacturers so "apexi, i choose you!"
  5. try looking at the twincharged s15 on youtube; was a fantastic watch and the results were fantastic. sr20 yes but there was almost no lag so on an rb26 i doubt there would be any are there any superchargers that disengage at a certain rpm???

    Spotted Thread

Spotted member mufasa and his white s3 r33 gtr (Vspec 33 plates i think) Amazing car with racepace s1 motor and -5 turbines - feels like a jet taking off

    Defect

Its 90dB legal limit i was told when i got mine tested; ummm for twin turbo's the rpm is like 5000
  8. Finally got a ride in an r33 gtr with -5 turbo's from a member on SAU; was a tad laggy for my likes but once it hit 4000ish rpm the pull was amazing; every gear just built speed. Could live with the lag as it does produce some boost while just cruising e.g 3000-3500rpm gear changes but once i jumped back in my car i could immediately tell the difference in response but the r34 gtr stockers definitely run out of puff at 6000rpm-ish where the -5's reach their optimum all the way till redline. Im going the -7 route now; was sooooo indecisive until i got to feel both cars in sucession
  9. I dont see any higher thatn 83-88 for water temps (on a 38 degree day it reached 90 but i put the heater on the bring it down) oil temps are about 81 on a cold night and go as high as 85 on a hot day cruising but ive never seen higher than 90degrees ever
  10. could look for an r32 gtr with a good structure (paintwork, chassi and panels etc) then with the money you saved on buying the r33 gtr, pull the motor out and get it freshened up with some new turbos, pistons, oil/water pump, timing belt, ecu tuning and gearbox/clutch/brakes r33 would be my choice though out of the 3 as the r34 gtt is just too boring, when you have one and see an r34 gtr you just look sooo boring compared.
  11. +1 turn on the aircon, set it to the winshield vent and the ---> i---- recirculating button instead of the --__---> one then turn it off, shouldnt get any warm air to your footwells
  12. Vspec 2 has a few little things which make em unique: the clean indicators, alluminium pedals, intake and exhaust temp on the MFD, removal of drivers side handle, black radiator, black interior, brushed gear trim and a little sticker on the back that says vspec 2 lolz. umm yeah the ones that are cheap are cheap for a reason; i imported mine for 4.3 million yen at the time + duties and compliance bumped it up to 67ish k but i got a near perfect example. Love the car to death, its soooooo tough and attention grabbing...oh and with my basic mods its a torquey gt car. i have the 320km/h dash... would prefer the stocker but i do have service books so im sure it was added at factory; has 26,000kms on it now....can always tell if its genuine by the condition of mats and the drivers seat wear.
  13. na, sori man my bad....jst irritable mood today i see u have one too, u have an everyday car??
  14. I start uni in less than a month and will not park it so public tranport is my only option; if i sell it, ill buy one again when i finish my studies hope that was a serious question and not a smartazz joke
  15. thanks mate....umm i know what the plenum is, just took at look at my car and there is a sorta brown/beige looking gasket but what are the hot runners? Is this gizzmo item a worthy investment? will i see lowered intake temps? ill do a search in a sec
  16. gizmo inlet gaskets? i think i know what it is but why does it make a difference?
  17. Hey mate, plenty to know and learn about them as they are da bomb! search a bit on the forums and you will find heaps. PM me if you got any questions importing right now is not a good idea as the yen to au dollar is pretty crappy so you will be paying quite a bit more atm, buy one here; plenty for sale! im considering selling mine: its a vspec 2 in black if your interested.
  18. When you hear the sound of sirens all day from the ambulances going past due to the helpless elders having heat stroke due to no airconditioning
  19. Thanks for the info mate, appreciate it! A little while ago, i wanted more like 300awkw but ive lost the whole power hungry phase and my current tune feels great @255awkw on stock turbines, i dont really redline the car; more like 4000-5000rpm max so yeah looks like -7 is my choice! definitely will be adding cam gears and a better front pipe; keeping stock dumps! also will change the intercooler or might just get it internally cleaned as i know oil buildup can affect heat exchange very much. ill be surfing through the threads on meth injection!
  20. Great man, cant wait for that; hopefully you can post an on-street impression for us? i know that fullbosst is around 4500-5000rpm but does it start pulling earlier, that familiar turbo torque at low revs best of luck!!!
  21. Bloody oath boyz, my cars been in the garage for the last few days and im sure over the next few days too since its 40+ installing factory airbox back and possibly a water/methanol spray to keep intake temps down + a higher grade oil *w50 etc drove back from geelong a little while ago when it was 35ish and oil temps went to 90 but didnt move much from there, water temps were 86-88 They really dont like the heat, especially with a front mount. ohhh a little device which has helped is my billion variable fan controller which turns on the aircon fan at a preset temp + can run 1 extra auxillary fan which i may look into asap
  22. I wish all gtr drivers had access to different turbo setups to feel how they are on the street; honestly ive got a big headache after reading all the information provided by the members. I jst wanna add something i read about HKS n garrett; that a garrett turbo must never outperform a HKS turbo from the same type e.g. 2530 and -5 I love the point about pushing the turbo to its limits; im chasing only 250-270awkw and although the stockers will do that, i dont want them running at full puff: kinda like "the candle that burn twice as bright, burns for half as long" anyways im hanging out for Bakes results from his -5's and ill definitely post my results from the -7's ill probably wind up getting.
  23. You really want 300kw atw? personally the novelty wore off quite quickly and im happy with about 255 so im going the -7 route and running just under 1 bar. Response is what i miss on the street for instance when i drove my friends dc5 type r and jumped back into mine; response is just better, i know its only 500-700rpm but in the first few gears or being in a higher gear and wanting to overtake etc I dont like to redline mine, 4000-4500rpm changes with the stockers are more than enough to make the car feel alive. this is just my impression -9's are a little bigger than the -7's right? like n1 to gt-ss and -5 is more 2530 which would benefit with some headwork.
  24. Best point....didnt think of that.....can stall the engine quite easily. you know what, thinkin of what i said before about oil buildup in your intake system/intercooler can be quite bad for heat transfer......ummm comming from my lab work, using the autoclave we must allow for extra sterilisation time if there are lipids or proteins involved so possible a simple intercooler clean/degrease would be enough to drop intake temps.
  25. Strange, alot of ppl are saying 70ish degrees for water ans oil temps where mine, even on cold nights are 80-85 oil and 82-84 water temps. do rb25's run lower than the 26 and which ones run oil coolers; was under the impression that oil operating temp are over 80degrees ????
