  1. lmfao, wait, are we talkin about the car or ylwgtr2 and his suspicious picture of a p3nis pump which he just happened to have on hand to post ahahahah.
  2. Hmmm seems that ces is one of the best dumps you can buy because of the looooong split between the gate and exhaust wheel, if my memory serves me then the justjap are pretty close together. Just quick if anyone knows how much are the twin rb26 dumps from ces????
  3. whoops soz man, i mixed my words up, i mean if the r34 turbz are steel on the compressor side. hmmm, im only a little fuzzed that nissan would make a turbo which if it blows will destroy the engine! has anyone ever actually had this happen before??? ive lowered my boost down now to max .99kg/cm until i swap turbines..
  4. omg ahahahahaha it dont matter if you win by a quarter inch or an inch, winning is winning.. ohhh snowy, may i ask why you havent changed the indicators to smoked??
  5. Ummm URAS/trent seemed to think that dual solenoids were equal or better at controlling boost than a stepper + alot of highend skylines are using them. I did say 'may' be better and specifically hks are very reputable so im happy with mine; great control! The blitz id III is meant to be the top bolivian flake Yo thanks for that info, ummm I seem to recall in a dvd that the r34 turbines used a ceramic exhaust wheel for better low down torque and the compressor wheel was ball bearing Did you check the exhaust side?? or did i miss that ummm anyways why would the engine blow if the turbine goes, the exhaust wheel would go first and pump out into the cat, the compressor wheel may/may not disintegrate and if it does would fly have to make it through the hot pipes/intercooler/cold pipe/plenum/throttles etc All this while the engine is running very rich and will probably cut out.
  6. +1 but then again japans temps are very low compared to the australian conditions; GTR's imported into the euro market are generally fitted with extra oil coolers to cope with highway temps. ummm if you watch ignition dvd, there was an aus time attack gtr which went over to compete and when they tuned the car fo japans conditions it gained something like 50kw and intake temps fell to 12degrees. On a hot day here we see 40-50+ intake temps, cold night??? im not sure, ill take a look (probably 20-30)
  7. Ive noticed this too mate, umm best way to think of it; smaller one would reach full pressure faster for startup but under full load/high rpm applications you would want a higher capacity as the smaller one would be the restriction. i dont want to bag drift but itsjust 'one' bad experience can affect the reputation of the company to a small group of potential customers. Rememmber: a good product; the customer will only tell 5 or so people about, whereas a bad product the customer will tell over 15. Similar to 2 threads ive read on here about a certain trader SP and their bad customer service.
  8. Never argue with a man who has a 9second gtr which launches more like an f15 fighter jet amen brother!!!
  9. Yeah thanks man, dont worry ill keep using coopers or maybe greddy next time for a try Aha i see so if you have a 10k motor and a crappy restrictive filter with low oil pressure then it should be ok? i mean if mine blew then i would spend 10k to rebuild it.
  10. Hey blokes, this is a little thing ive noticed just recently, would the number plate of a car (front bar) affect performance; response/temps etc I had a chance to experience this just a few days ago when i changed my plates: -When i bought the car, i had GARGYA on the front and didnt notice any issues etc etc..... -Changed to GTR-13 which is quite a bit smaller and thus i didnt require to fit spacers and angle changes so the plate fits more aerodynamically. Long story short, my car felt instantly more responsive and my oil temps/water temps went down about 2degrees; same as my knocks on full throttle (from 28ish down to 17now) Believing it was simply a fluke, i tried my car on a hot day (37degrees) and the same result, normally my knocks would be about the 28-30mark on WOT, now only 21 Conclusion: the theory is all there; more air, less drag = better cooling which is great -Johnny
  11. Hey guys, Just though id punch in some info about something to do with oil filters; ill try to explain it: -Now when i start my car, the knocks would jump to 91-95. I though this was just the starter motor noise but just to check i disconnected my coil packs and cranked the car, yes it did repeat the 90ish knocks without the car starting so i was pretty happy that it wasnt a bad startup tune. -I have been having an issue with drift oil filters from autobarn with my oil light staying on for 2ish seconds and pressre the same (on startup, even warm start) This was noticed by creatd ms and myself but i though it was just the oil taking a second to pump around. -about a week ago i changed back to coopers oil filter and now there is no knock on startup (reaches 1-2max) and my oil light turns straight off in less than a second and i get full pressure. Coincidence??? no way as it was instant fix for my issue Conclusion: Bad oil filter or a bad batch; either way im not happy buying a filter which 'may' be bad and potentially wreck a 10k motor. Take this not as a discredit but simply i will not be using the drift filter again, greddy/coopers/knn for me now. BTW the oil was 8100xcess 5w40 and 300v changed at 2000km intervals -Johnny
  12. Grab a HKS EVC, great controller and quite stealthy; they use a stepper motor instead of a solenoid which is meant to be faster at controlling gate vs rpm vs boost vs load etc ummm yeah, i turned mine down like i said for daily driving to pretty much stock level as it feels better for road use (low rpm changes)
  13. Interesting, ive never heard of something like this before. ummm once a cop pulled me over and told me that he will be putting the word out about me; that he would rip my liscence up into little pieces -Quote I was going around a bend at 80 (was an 80 zone but recommended speed was 60 for the corner) Bit harsh ey!
  14. +1 on the 2540's "too big for drift, too small for drag" The new age -9 looks like a winner...or the tried n proven -5
  15. Ive turned my boost down a tad, ramps to 1.05 or so in the first 2 gears, 3rd gear full load is 1.00kg/cm on da dot. umm something in r34 gtr turbos are ceramic, nissan did it to increase torque over the r32/33; mine are holding up nicely still but i will be changing to some new garrett or hks items simply for reliability.
  16. omg ive dont that quite a few times also, turned the sidestreets and hid in someones driveway once.
  17. mad thanks for the tips mate, i dont know much bout rim offsets etc they look great though, ill be getting black ones or powedercoating them black etc
  18. Hey very nice! Umm may i ask if the bonnet is a jsai item??? ive been considering one for ages now and turning back on the order because im concerned about the quality.......can you shed some light for me please. oh and about oil cooling, dosent the ztune have rear mounted coolers (or is it only the differencial and transmission???)
  19. This is the first ive ever heard of this happening, ill be keeping an eye on this thread. Goodluck with everything, i doubt you will get the fine because there is no way to prove it, a photo isnt exactly evidence that there was no internals; some high flow cats look like race pipes welded into the exhaust (only larger diameter) A warning i guess for any1 putting in a race pipe is to weld the standard cat plate onto it so it looks standard and police cannot speculate!
  20. Amazing, i followed in awe the build threads on uk gtr. If your ready for your jaw to drop, just take a look.........quite a few pages though.
  21. Nice rides on here! heres mine
  22. Im still a tad cut about getting an epa for my exhaust without being pulled over and passing the test.....waste of a day, stress and 40dollars do all police officers simply jump tp conclusions when they see a sports car or is it in their quota to make money for the epa/exhaust shops whom pay a tax im sure are they more bias to p-platers?? oh and how come ferraris/lamborghinis and harleys have more rights then we do with a middle class/price car Not sure if you notice but i doubt a ferrari would pass a 5000rpm rev test at 90dB
  23. Sorry to hear mate, thats fishing ey.......oh and snapper season has been over for a while now. they have plenty of charters there, nmight do that asap as they know the good spots lolzzzzz i know the fed up feeling
  24. not another one.....what do people just wake up n say, i wont buy a car....ill steal one I and every1 here feels for ya n will be keeping an eye out, hopefully the police will stophanding out fines long enough to try n find it
  25. Hmmm try n drain the oil from the sump or remove the sump and look for something floating around cos it reminds me of the time i blew a rocker arm in my s15, it rattled for a while and then went away cos the broken rocker and shims had fallen down into the sump. The engine was crappy to drive but when it hit boost, it felt better but the power was lacking. Good luck with everything mate, i hope its a small fix, please keep us updated!
