Id guess with the neo engine, the r34 should have more power; not much. regardless, NA skylines are slooooow, i put down a total of 78awkw in a gts-4 automatic.......beaten by a prelude in a drag. s2000 is slow compared to a GTR, someones gonna flame me here but its probably because im used to turbo. I had a test drive and the gearboxes r fantastic; very smooth and sounds good but dosent really go anywhere. the new model s2000 which we dont get here in Aus has an upgraded 2.2litre engine for more torque. Ive seen a few run 13's with nitrous and they are great on the track. Dont have an answer for auto and manual cos technically only the fastest drag cars will use an auto and track is no different (SLR AMG uses automatic and so does the CLK black) Launching a car hard will hurt something; every action there is a reaction! so either the clutch will burn or the tyres + HD clutch will send shock through either the gearbox, driveshaft or diff. Only as strong as your weakest link. The fart smell is probably a combination of fuel and the catalytic converter; petrol is a fossil fuel and will contain sulfur which when burned up in the cat can produce that smell of rotton eggs or fart. Also cane a new car and it will smell for the first 5-12,000kms of its life; dont know y but either a new cat contains sulfur or the lack of flow in a new cat causes richening of the injectors and leads to explanation 1 ^^ e.g. my BMW, my mums landrover and any rental car i get ahold of.

  3. Thanks for the impression man, im sure the top end is better than stock though. Maybe some cams may open the topend without sacrificing the mid; i know that in my old s15 some stage 1 HKS cams were fantastic. 15 second in a veyron would be like about 200mph, i think its 0-300 in 14seconds so if your already doing 60kph and flat foot for 15seconds you would be going 350kph and thats not exactly comforting lolz. Only certain sections of the autobahn would be possible!!! 100-110 would freak me out on the road, when i get the new turbos if my temps go anymore than 95degrees then ill definitely grab an oil cooler. Amazing looking car you have though, the r32 gtr is just sooooo aggresive like twoogle and a few members on this site.

    At Cue Room last night; saw a really nice r34 gtt in white with mega bodykit. a black r33 gts-t with gt stripes on bonnet/roof/bootlid etc; had personalised plates was parked on settlement rd. Anyone on here? Anyone else here go to cue room or bar8?
  6. Just a street car man; my oil temps right now never go over 88degrees. I have it tuned ATM with stock turbines to 255awkw and really like the response so ill definitely be going -7 or -ss when the yen comes back up. How would you, taking the first drive till now rate the -7's in terms of standard response? ive read alot on this site about the -7's but prefer to hear from actual owners. Torque at low rpm is what im interested in and removal of that top end post 7000rpm restriction from stockers. how high do your oil temps get on the track anyways -Johnny

  11. Hey mate, i put a straight pipe in my r33 gts-4 NA in 2001 and all it did was make the exhaust sound terrible at cruising speeds. Response increased but i put back the stock cat about 3days later in my garage. Turbo cars definitely run better without the cat but the turbo acts to mask the 'rasp' metallic noise which is not plesant. A high-flow cat is your best bet for both worlds and wont get you into trouble; you can really tell on an NA.
  12. UPDATE Got my car back from the mechanics; had castrol transmax Z put in. Sold from Bursons it was 90dollars for 4 litres. Now no noticible change in the car but its nice and smooth and under some throttle in 1st n 2nd there were no warning lights or strange noises. For anyone with an r34 gtr unsure of what to use, the castrol is fine. I, like always am very paranoid and had thought r34 transfer cases would require a different fluid to the r32 and 33. Im not hesitant to use it in my gearbox the next time a service is due as i paid a premium for toyota getrag v160.
  13. UPDATE Well i had the stock compliance cat fitted back in and my god does it drain the power; response is completely halved and the engine just dosent want to rev like it used to. Definitely at least a 10% drop in power but the good news is, the car is very quiet and i had the mechanic use a dB meter and it comes in at 88dB @ 4900-5050rpm so hopefully the EPA approved testers will get the same reading. As soon as i pass, im having a custom made second mid muffler with flanges welded in so it will look like a cat, flow like my race pipe and hopefully prevent anymore hassle from those chicken-hawks.

  15. Update Have just purchased new number plates [GTR-13] which will come with the car and had both the transfer case and diff fluids replaced so the price will remain at 70k now with the current yen price.

  18. Thanks man, anybet im gonna have to find a stocker; wonder if they are rare? I have the compliance cat. ill pop a thread in the WTB section 90dB ay? well mine is only a 3inch and has JASMA printed on it, i think that means its Japanese EPA certified for noise and clearance etc. Hope i get my dB meter asap; im having my cat fitted and test done on wed; have until december something-ish
  19. Hmmm i see, never really estimated; i have 2 turbos which will act sorta like 2 mufflers, stock cat, mid muffler and a very chunky end muffler. I find it very quiet on cruising, only when the gates open up it becomes a screamer Thanks for the link
  20. Xr6 tubo definitely; exhaust, boost and an ecu upgrade will see 50% + power gains.

Thankyou mate!! great bondaaaage.....i mean cartoon SPOTTED cruise tonight to docklands with all my mates; university hill depart with 2 wrx's, 1 r34 gtr, 1 s15, Civic and couple other screemers. Also saw some nice cars at the carwash next to nova vista today; few xr6 turbos and a nice rex with [JETR3X] plates i think.

Hmm come to think of it, i remmember police following me once but didnt pull me over, i was in high gears most the time so wasnt loud......possibly happend then. anyways just thought id keep a dB meter handy to see how far/close i am to the limit; if im at 87dB then i wont have to grab a stocker.

    yep that would be correct had it now for about 2 months, just had a few small changes since, main reason i got it off alain is that i know the whole history of the car since he first got the car (as im good mates with him) I heard u been thrashin the beast round your area but bet ya hate the damn full monty clutch ey; either on or off....a little compromise would be nice. whats the future plans??? bigger turbo? should sell me your rear led lights, PM me if your interested!!!
  25. UPDATE just bought a dB meter of my own which i should get in 2-3 days. anyone can feel free to come to my place and do a test if you get a letter in the mail or just wanna make sure your cars legal. oh and to make sure the exhaust shop dosent try to lie to you; its accurate 2dB +/- at 134dB
