  1. I would definitely get it tuned asap as a forged motor aint a cheap thing and you want the best out of it; the ECU will gain plenty of low end torque and overall power, the pump and supporting mods simply support your ending achievement.
  2. Honestly i think the first mechanic installed it wrong, its probably not aligned straight so its grinding against something. id get another mechanic to put in a new one and take photos of the shredded timing belt so you can possibly be reimbursed by the first mechanic.....long shot i know
  3. Aww dats da badst, jst checked out my ignition DVD's again -pretty damn good presenter too, glad he's on the forums. ill definitely check out that new motive dvd too
  4. I tried a little test the other day to see whether it was road/engine noise and/or faulty knock sensor: run on the freeway when no1 is around then push the clutch in and reset the controller to get a reading with no engine load; ive found that on smooth roads there is still 8-10knock and on harsh/bumpy roads i can get as high as 10-18knock. i guess this would work for a faulty knock sensor too ie if you get 50knock when coasting.
  5. ? dont get it - spray into the intake (after AFM) or drill into the compressor housing itself and spray on the blades?
  6. JET200? ive seen that before; it aint silver with an s15 front is it?
  7. Found a super advanced docomo mobile phone under the carpet - in japanese so i couldnt get it working
  8. Not really into it cos they missed a few things like whether they warmed the cars up to operating temp e.g 80+ degrees for the oil and the rpms can never be accurate as your controlling them by foot so each run could be up to 100rpm off. im glad motul did well though as thats the brand im sticking with and i run castrol edge in my beema.
  9. I know its not an arc but i have a fujisubo, its 87db at 5000rpm free rev and howls very nicely on full throttle/boost
  10. Na i decided a little while ago as its cheaper to do cams gears and belt in a kit as it would work out much cheaper labour and part wise; ive put away money now to do everything at once. I never got to do the turbos cos im still debating which ones to buy plus i just bought a BMW and a Getz so money is a little tight atm, cars still runniong perfectly though. oh and for turbos im gonna go -9's as they as halfway between n1 and 2530 which i had an opportunity to pilot recently and they are way too laggy for daily duties.
  11. I your aiming for 500kw then i assume money aint an issue them u might as well just talk to RIPS racing an have one of there fully built rb26/30 motors built for 20k + supporting mods....he seems to have proven up to 1000hp many times on that motor and none ahve broken so far that ive heard of. Im going straight there when/if my bottom end goes
  12. Once they realised that pink paint dosent get girls and most people think of them as tools driving a 'ruined' car im sure they took them to an isolated spot, set fire to it and claimed the insurance.
  13. Throw in some cam gears and do your timing belt while your at it, i know that your car probably has only 30-40k on it but because they are getting a little old, rubber parts can corrode so for piece of mind and extra midrange torque cam gears are a way to go. most mods depend on how you drive also, if you cruise and occasionally give it a squirt then an oil cooler aint nessesary but if you do track days, then its a must. oh and while yu got it at the shop have the intercooler removed and flushed with degreaser as oil buildup can drasticaly inhibit heat transfer.
  14. My god this thread is about contrasting xbox and ps3 games, not car bashing......jeeez relax guys I have both consoles atm and i must say that they are both good; online play is about the same but you have to pay for xbox live (which i just did a month ago) I bought a hdmi cable on a lcd tv to compare graphics and they are a little different but not noticible unless you have them side by side, either way i wouldnt give up one console for the other only buy games based on content and exclusivity ie left for dead which is the baddest and GTA IV which is better on the xbox 360 due to the upgrades. killzone 2 on the ps3 and gt5
  15. Im sure your with me Tez Your car looking schmick as ever!
  16. im quite surprised at the ls series engines, they are not as lazy as some people make them out to be.....especially in the clubsports
  17. Im sure he was jst kidding. Id say you must own a GTR at least once in your life, there are times you will hate it for being too harsh as a daily driver and other times you will be amazed everytime you turn the key. They are a proper race car for the road in contrast to monaro which is more of a muscle car, hence the big lazy v8 with plenty of torque. I hated my GTR after i got it cos i was so paranoid about it but once i got a daily and took my gtr out only once a week on quiet roads at night or nice sunny day, i appreciate it fully now and would not change up as its jst a tonne and a half of testosterone.
  18. Ive been wondering about that bov from GFB i think which you can change from full atmosphere to plumback jst by twisting it. Fact is bovs are illegal so you might as well stick with stock gtr or jst dont run anything at all so you get the low rpm flutter your after.
  19. Nothing is wrong with an auto sports car, dosent mean you have to drive it on a track and if you dont then auto is a good way to go. definitely glad the gtr was only made in manual, not just because of power but the mechanical/testosterone feel of pumping that stick (seems to come natural to most guys) i wouldnt hesitate to buying a gtt in auto as a few of my mates have them and i owned an auto r33 s2 as my first car, the shifts were smooth and quick on throttle + after thrashing for 30,000kms+ it survived with no problems and was perfectly smooth with no noises.
  20. If you want a fully built rb30 bottom end ready to bolt up i suggest trying RIPS racing in NZ as they regularly have cars shipped from the UK for full builds and he also seems to send alot of engines to europe too.
  21. My daily...have a getz too but gave it to the missus
  22. was it left completely off for that long? maybe gunk in the fuel tank is clogging the pump n filter coil packs maybe when they heat up? i would definitely change the oil and pop in a bottle of injector cleaner too jst for piece of mind.
  23. I had a genuine offer of just sub 70k about 6-8months ago, was temped to sell but i couldnt let her go as i spent alot of time finding the perfect vspec2.....doubt i will sell it for at least 5 years now.
  24. Im 22; got my r33 s2 when i was 17 and my r34 gtr when i was 21
  25. The new camaro was on my list of cars to buy before i bought the gtr but when i read into GM selling in Aus i found that the US has different emission laws to us so most of the time they will only sell the V6 here. (waste of time) i might be wrong, hope i am; if so then 'gtr for sale'
