your kidding, still $58 or $69 dollars is still too expensive. Id rather have 10 medium mc-chicken meal deals lolz. Thanks duncan, i would definitely keep yours stock and forget the track racing. If you have a look on the supra forums, the rz supra uses the same getrag box as the r34 and alot of people do in fact complain about HD clutches and flywheels. I thought mine was broken but it turns out they all behave like that.. Honestly though im being critical, coming from a BMW where you cant hear a damn thing in-cabin the noise is well worth the drawbacks. oh and i also never drove a manual car so i had to teach myself in the gtr, ive only done 1000kms so my clutchwork and shifting needs a little conditioning.
-
Hey Duncan, is your clutch and flywheel stock? i only ask cos my cars got this pathetic twin plate and light flywheel and i wanna know whether a stock dual mass wheel and clutch is any better as a daily. On the upside i can launch harder then my morning glory Oh yeah and i know what you mean about the lock, my mate drove my car when i first got it and he has an r34 gtt; had to 3point turn a court. And the front lip is pathetically low, A factor in the sale of my house was that the driveway was a little too steep for the lip and it scraped all the time. At 70-80k for an xr6 or f6 you can have a gtr and a new hyundai getz as a daily....plus you will know that nobody is secretly wanting to the sphincter of the universe slap you.

Holy macaroni, Ive never heard of this turbo! is it new? i gotta find some cars using this on youtube
-
There are plenty of cars that are quicker than a gtr today so i wouldnt really use that as a test point, rather look at the complete package. The ford would be so much better as a daily driver; the r34 gtr has a very noisy and notchy gearbox, the engine never really settles down like a nice lazy dog but is kinda like a jack russel constantly trying to hump your leg. cant compare the ford to a porsche or amg as they are in the 250-350k bracket and if you manage to beat one, im sure the rich person in the euro sportscar feels so much better about himself and you will feel worthless, hopeless and you will have to kill yourself. The r34 gtr is not a daily car, i have one and i hardly drive it..in fact everytine i go for a drive i have to jumpstart it but at the end of the day i have a legendary car....my own GTR......oh and a little honda to commute everywhere else. oh and if you only have an xr6 then park it with the windows accidently left down you will be swimming in phlem and mucous by the time you get back.

Johnny replied to vidospace's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Check the little filter before the solenoid, if its dirty with oil it can disrupt the reading and maybe thats why its cutting out. -

Thanks Trent for da update, i hope you worked out all the settings. Where do you get all your cars tuned? do u have a shop as i want a better tune on my power fc and someone to professionally install and tune da ebc. I have been holding out on calling anyone because i want to find someone who will treat the car like it was their own. btw driftmeister, i hope you work out all the issues in your car.

People like this have developed an attitute problem to compensate for their stupidity; the internet is an easy way to make yourself look good by lying. God knows how many times ive heard people bagging others by saying they have more money then someone else, a better car or house blah blah blah. He's basically saying that his 1000dollar EBC can turn his eclipse into a GTR beater; cmon he is probably appart of the fast and furious brigade and thinks he's paul walker. "I see a cool air intake, nos fogger system and a t4 turbo domanic" -
Actually i need a new battery also for my gtr. Im going dry cell as my car sits around alot and i mjust jump start it everytime i go for a drive. Does anyone know what power figure i need? not sure on what system they use to rank battery power; is it amps? volts? etc -John

Skyline's Of Boost Controller (best Boost Controller)
Johnny replied to MJTru's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Im sure this boost controller is fantastic and i would be willing to pay the extra money if it could do a better job then say a HKS EVC version 6 which i have just bought. It dosent mean that because its twice as expensive, its 200% better. Quote from Jeremy Clarkson about America: 'Everyones very fat, everyones very stupid and everybodys very rude." I respect the US very much in terms of their technology, films and music; a great superpower but honestly alot of the population are very cocky and arrogant. -
Great thanks mate, appreciate that and the information in your previous thread. Put it this way, i was 2seconds away from buying the power fc EBC kit! and what i waste that would have been. Gotta love the look of the hks module huh Thanks man, ill check out your dyno graph now. Seems like im gonna be real happy with this bit of kit.
-
Thanks for the comments so far. I agree that many high powered turbo cars still use solenoids without a hitch so im still debating but it looks like im steering towards the HKS unit as it has a brilliant black and tough incabin unit. at 600bux its not cheap but then again, im not either. I will definitely post up results of the response when i run it on the dyno. My last dyno run net 235awkw and now i will be adding this EBC and apexi pods which are already installed to see if i can mimmic the nice midrange gains that URAS tested. BTW who is that bloke Trent? is he a tuner? cos he sound like the go-to guy.
-
Yo blokes, Recently i read a thread by forum member URAS which highlighted the benefits of a blitz ebc with gain control over say a manual boost controller. IT basically showed better gain throughout the low/mid revs which was quite surprising. Im in the market for a new EBC as mine currently is a HKS EVC version 3 and i would like an update. Now i was gonna buy the blitz ebc recommended but since ive come across the new HKS EVC version 6 which utilized a stepper motor instead of solenoids. Now is this a new thing or do other manufacturers use these? are they better at controlling wastegates? this is the link from ebay, it seems like a good price for a tough looking module http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...em=360079097260 what you guys think! oh and its for my R34 GTR; so standard twin turbos with internal gates -Johnny

Dyno Graphs Comparing Pfc Boost Controll Vs Blitz Idiii
Johnny replied to STATUS's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks bb, I forgot to mention that i was after the power fc kit because it removes a module from the cabin for a more stock look. The HKS EBC i have now is quite good but now after reading this thread i will live with the module but id like something a little more 'hip' from an asthetic point of view. I know it sound stupid for me to be buying another EBC but im just updating my 'wardrobe' so to speak. -
Dyno Graphs Comparing Pfc Boost Controll Vs Blitz Idiii
Johnny replied to STATUS's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hey Trent, thankyou for the reply. Looks like ill be buying the blitz EBC; thankgod i read your thread cos i was just about to order the powerfc kit for like 500bux. -Johnny -
Looks like not many people are into it, definitely right though about gold heating up. Im not using a theme in my car, it will be left stock just with the shifter. Maybe i should just get it turned into a nice keychain.
-
Lmao at hand on nob! Thanks for the replies so far, Im definitely going with the trust design now as its much easier and wont look out of place in the car. the electroplating is very complicated and im sure will look ridiculous. oh and the car dosent leave my garage anyways, i hardly drive it and never park it so it should be safe.
-
Hey guys, Ive decided to do something really outrageous in regards to a new shift knob for my car and was hoping for some peoples opinions from a design point of view to help make up my mind. As your probably confused; few weeks ago i had to go and sell some gold oz' but i decided to keep a few for this project. These gold 'coins' are almost pure and weigh just over 28grams each First design idea is to use this trust gearknob and have the top molded out of gold rather than the original logo and have my name engraved into it. The second design is to electroplate the entire knob in gold using something like this nismo shifter but im not quite sure if this is possible. Anyways I hope for some advice and i will keep posted with updates on progress and pics of the finished product. -Johnny

Dyno Graphs Comparing Pfc Boost Controll Vs Blitz Idiii
Johnny replied to STATUS's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Great read and interesting results but how would this compare to a twin setup? My car currently have a HKS EVC version III which is set to just under 1bar and made 235awkw. I am in the market for a new boost controller and was about to buy the powerfc kit as i like its ability to run without an extra module in the cabin (less chance of being picked on by police) Now if the results are that drastic then i will be going a different direction and probably just get it installed in the glovebox. Anyways, i will be doing this same test as i have just installed an apexi pod filter kit and would like to have another dyno run once i get a new EBC. -
Why Is Nengun So Cheap?
Johnny replied to R33-RB26DETT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Why so cheap? same reason why us aussies pay so much for cocaine and ice as opposed to america. -
Jst making some fun man, i went through my stage of 'flasshy' as well (bout the same time i bought my first pink polo top) Try popping it on carsales.com for a few months and after that, try parting it out!

Hopefully he changes his callsign from maverick to asswipe.

Id strip it down and sell off the parts, would probably get a little less money but would be easier then trying to sell it to someone who would drive that over compensated lollypop-mobile. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder but then again some people have a fetish for animal porn or grannies.
