Didnt expect to see this thread again hehe. At the moment i use KnN oil filters and they are great; have a nut at the top like the drift filter so its easy to put in and remove + got rid of my oil issue. OEM would be good, happy with knn though and prefer to have the nut at the top as it makes the job much easier.

I didnt know about this accident until later this evening after passing the accident scene on plenty rd, I didnt know what all the police cars and people were doing there. Was a big shock and quite emotional to hear about the brother saving his sister Must say that that spot on plenty is a dangerous spot, it is very slippery in the wet but can be even in the dry, there is always small stones all over the road after rain or even some wind - 3 years ago, a friend wrote off a small ford focus doing the speed limit right at that bus stop - he was driving, strayed slightly to the left where the small stones sent him out of control and spun him into a tree down the path...lucky he was ok. my heart goes out the the family and friends of the deseased.

Hey man congrats on the new car, one thing ive noticed on the gtr is that the twin turbos act really well as resonators for the exhaust so you can buy some really well designed exhausts which flow well and fit snug against the body so it will give great ground clearance (unlike the silvia exhausts which sit sooo close to the ground) Ive had mine tested and it came out at 88dB @ 5000rpm which is impressive but still howls when you put your foot down a panel filter in the stock box will flow some great power....although you lose that nice induction sound a power fc can be hidden well with a nissan sticker put over the logo and be replaced with the stocker if you get an EPA test bost controller hidden somewhere in the engine bay (a HKS unit is black and dosent seem to be noticed) boost set at 1bar tuned and a low setting (under 1 bar) can be used if you have to remove the aftermarket ECU for the stocker should get you over 240awkw - 250awkw (mines at 255 with only pods as an extra) goodluck n enjoy the car -Johnny

Hey man, congrats on the new car. for mods, and a budget of 5g i would take it in for a full service first. As it is getting on in years and kms, your timing belt might need a change; high quality fluids all round, new brake pads and discs etc handling mods are debatable, if its a street car only, id suggest a strut brace in the engine bay and some shock/spring combo; ie nismo s-tune which is great on the road. I had an r33 many years ago and installed some koni shocks and springs - the thing was sooooo annoying. power mods i personally would limit to an exhaust and boost controller - set the boost to stock as the exhaust will spike the boost which is not exactly best for the turbo and stock ecu tune. oh and pop an apexi panel filter in the stock box or a pod with heat shield. good luck and many years happy skyline ownership -Johnny

Hey guys, I havent been on the forums for a bit cos of this issue. Basically there were a total of 7 attempted poisonings: bleach tablets, codral tablets, rat poison, panadol, some orange unknown tablet and something im not sure of - kinda looks like salt granules. had an investigator come - took our video evidence, tablets and photos of damage. Basically nothing has been done! I managed to stop the crap with something quite insane but it worked. My car has been fixed with some nismo skirts and pods; ill post some pics soon. trying to pop it behind me, i thank everyones sympathy and support - it helps to keep some sanity. -Johnny

thanks for that, never heard of that engine before. might be nice to say u have that motor but you can have your own 2.8 built these days from HKS or 2.7 from jun etc

I personally use the 8100 xcess in my gtr, used to use 300v but i service every 3 months or 2000kms or so and dont do any track days. didnt notice a difference between them, both feel great and for filters, the best ive used is knn; great filter with nut on top for easy removal and install

sorry to hear bout the motor, hope you get it sorted asap so u can be out on the road again. im sure theres plenty of threads on engine rebuilds, alot of shops offer rebuild kits with pistons, rods and gaskets so it makes the job easier. Are you going to be doing the rebuild yourself? or a mechanic shop? choosing the right mechanic shop is crucial, its something you dont wanna skimp on, even if you have to save a little longer for it - being able to pull the motor out urself is an advantage as it saves on labour costs but personally if it was me, some tuners on this site build the motor and give you that "first-start" warranty as its in their care. how much power are u going for and do u drive it on the track or jst the occasional spirited drive and squirt at the lights?

demo is out now, jst played it and its great - not as good as the first but the weapons are mad and better sounds too; more special infected download it, only one level though but a good 15 minutes of play

spotted a very clean white r33 gts-t on plenty road jst as i left my house - had SAU sticker; driver looked like a nice bloke, gave a wave and thumbs up. very nice car!

On a more positive note, i went to the panel beaters today (family friend) and quoted 800 to fix my front bar, scratches and the nice little word written on the wheel arch. ordering nismo skirts and rear pods to get fitted at the same time - a good excuse to do it ey? buying from bodyform aero in sydney, had some good feedback on them from other skyline owners; anyone care to add some more feedback? cheaper than insurance excess at 1500bux for justcar and my premium wont go up. the bmw is only 500 excess so probably pay for that though. -Johnny

thanks man, Im taking every precaution now, locked gates, lights on, dogs in laundry and cars in garage - i keep wanting to go get him but its really not who i am; capable, yes but i like people too much and getting a rotton apple in the bunch every now and then comes with life so ill try n shrug this off; i wrote him a warning note to stay away from us. Hopefully that works most everyone on here is a dog lover, they give that unconditional love and stick by you when ur down in the dumps - thank god im moving soon. i wont list who he is cos i think thats not allowed on this site but if anyone hires a mower/gardener on this site, please do pm me the company name and ill let you know if its him. yes i do know where he lives, just in case i need to contact the police etc etc now thats disgusting, never ever vandalise someones car......never wont hurt him unless he kills my dogs or hurts a family member

again, thankyou for all the support and empathy everyone has contributed This morning i woke up to find that someone had come to my house again and dropped tablets for my dogs to eat, attempted poisoning - lucky my dogs only chewed one and spat it out. The pills were thrown through the side-gate (exactly where i told the mower that he could enter as it was unlocked) as of the start of the vandalism, it has been locked, so the pills were thrown through with a few rebounding to the front of the gate/house; all together 8 tablets which ill pop to uni with to get tested for toxins. im simply waiting now, nervous as my dogs are part of my family and im now past the point of shrugging off simple vandalism; Its currently 11:50 or so and i dread waking up tomorrow to find my dogs dead or worse. the police dont want to know about the tablets, they simply dont care - told us "we're wasting their time" anyways dont know why im writing this but i need somebody to talk to, even if its just a computer screen on a car forum -Johnny

did you check the turbo water lines? my s15 in the past (including GTR's) have solid lines i think for water and oil - when under heat, metal expands and moves slightly which can crack the lines my s15 lost coolant and couldnt figure out why: we pressurised the system and nothing until we put it up onto a hoist and ran the car in-gear = water began leaking out of the turbo water lines. apparently common; my fix was braided lines to replace the solid ones. not sure if this is ur problem but though id throw it in anyways, might jst get lucky - all the best mate -Johnny

those stories are very common it seems, generally the cars we drive bring out the worst in people and some are just plain arses - ie. jacked up 4wd's with fog lights Im glad u didnt do anything but shows your a man for being able to defend yourself but still have the conscious mind to weigh the outcome and make the right decision, its what separates us from the animals to an intelligent bloke like u. not worth a simple cut-off road rage, but maybe if he tried to attack your sis it would have been different. I did loose my mind after the second vandalism and nails in the driveway, my mother blocked the driveway with her car and stole my keys; god works in these ways to protect us ey? thanks for the kind words, I will do this the right way Im sure you have control of your temper mate, especially over something not worth it - i wont pursue too much or it'll look like im greedy, all i want is for him to admit it and apologise + pay his business insurance which im sure he has.

thanks man, If he had been a man and admitted it then i would have even offered to pay half of his insurance excess but he has completely gone over the top with the vandalism thanks man, check this; the police told my mother to call him and offer him one more chance to simple admit to the damage, he didnt pick up so she left a nice message pleading him to please admit and fix our cars he called the police after that message and said we were harassing him....what a loser ey after that, the vandalisms began occuring Its hard for my to keep my cool, I have a bad temper and am capable of jst about anything these days but my family come first and i guess it would be a waste to break the law, get charged with a crime and be no better than this retard. all over a couple of grand Will try my best, thanks for the kind words. Ill keep the thread updated as i go again, i appreciate all the kind words as they mean alot when your pride and joy is damaged; my car never really gets driven and i expected it to be safe in the garage :-( I hope nothing like this ever happens to anyone on here, we love our cars and hate to see them damaged after all the care and maintenance.
