$150 to person who fixes my leak between manifold and turbo
Clint32 replied to MRK25T's topic in General Maintenance
If the leak is between the manifold and head you will need a new gasket about $100 as i only recently got one. You will also probably break a few studs when you go to take it off. Once you have got the manifold off i would recomment replacing all of the exhaust manifold studs as you wont wont to do this all again later, they only cost $2 each so there is another $24. Would recomend taking the turbo off and replacing the gaskets for that as well. Don get these from nissan just go to any turbo place. Will probably take you a day to do if you dont have lots of experience. -
I have finished putting doing all the mods to my car in the list that follows: -To4e turbo and turbosmart external gate on modded standard manifold -600x300x73mm PWR Tube and Fin Intercooler Core with custom endtanks -550cc series 5 13B Turbo injectors -Z32 airflow meter -Turbo XS BOV -Oil filter relocator with oil cooler -custom aluminium intercooler pipes -Oil Catch can -3'' mandrel exhaust from turbo -2 x 12'' thermo fans all this is bolted to a stock RB20 with 100,000kms on the clock. Is being tuned tommorow and i am planning on running about 16psi of boost. If someone could post some pics for me that would be good.

Normally the side indicators are put on during compliance so i say you will need them. I would get everything as standard looking as possible before going through and check the basics dont let them make you come back because of a small oil leak etc as they just get more picky.
-
Why? A tube and fine core of that size is good for 500hp or so, a bar and plate core will cool better but be more of a restriction and with the core that size you will have plenty of cooling. A core will cost about 500+ the welding so another 150 maybe

$1750 For My Full Exhaust, Problems with my Dump Pipe
Clint32 replied to Cubes's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Joel smooth sailing and modified cars, never happens -
I want to know when the next street meet is as well, my car is being tuned on Monday with the new turbo. I heard they were upgrading the track and nothing was happening until the nats.
-
Do you have an alarm, get that checked and make sure the cut is not on the fuel pump as i had an alarn that the imobisiser wouldnt turn off on. Pull the fuel line off and see if there is fuel there when you are trying to start. If there is then it can only be the injectors or something stopping the spark.

I have just finished putting new turbo, injectors etc on my car, today i had some trouble when i was just cruising for a minuite to check it was running ok. It cut out on gear changes a couple of times and wouln not go above 3g i think once. It was like the last time my afm stuffed up, this time i have a z32. I think is is to do with the way a plumbed the bov return back behind the afm will this affect it as it is only about 100mm behind it. Not happy the car was running fine and ready to go on ther dyno then this.
-
Everything is up and running joel and seemed fine. Today I had some problems that seem like the afm, it cuts out sometimes on gearchanges and stoped once. I think it is something to do with the way i returned the bov to thr air intake. Going on the dyno tomorrow so hopefully it runs ok otherwise i will need to try a new z32 afm.

i wouldnt be using any push on type hoses with a turbo, get some quality ones made with screw type fittings. You can go to hose/fittings place Pirtec etc and buy hose and fittings to make your own. At the end of the hose there are two fittings, one screws on the hose anticlocwise and the other screws down in to that, this way you can do it yourself otherewise get them to make quality braided lines.

I wired a Z32 afm in my 32 and basically just left the first wire A (orange ) on the z32 and then wired the other 4 in order, eg pin b on z32 to pin a on the stock plug. Everything runs fine so it must be ok. 32s and 33 are the same i think.

$1750 For My Full Exhaust, Problems with my Dump Pipe
Clint32 replied to Cubes's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The resonator dosent look like stailnless thats why there is the black paint there hard to tell though. I wouldnt worry too much about the dump pipe, there would be very little restriction and it would be better than the stock one. -
its a GTR cooler im guessing, you just have to flare the end of the pipes out to 3'' where it meets the cooler no real problem. 3'' piping is to big to fit in the engine bay proparly.

$1750 For My Full Exhaust, Problems with my Dump Pipe

Joel do you mean there is welds by each of the bends, ie in front and behind a bend they may have used bends and welded them together to make the exhause. That is what i do. If you didnt live so far away id have a look, my exhaust full cost me under 300 to make full turbo back with satinless can, i dont have a cat on at the moment. If you are worried about the dump pipe get the die grinder out and clean it up a little. -
Joel the standard piping is about the same size as your intercooler outlets or 2.5''. This is about the right size for piping and would be fine up to 500hp im guessing. If your pipes have bad bends it may be worth getting them remade from 2.5'' mandrel bends, it would help improve the top end a bit i think. The only problem is that mandrel bends are not as tight as the std ones and you will have trouble making the piping in the stock location. hard to tell without looking. Generally people say smaller pipes give less lag but its not really noticable i dont think. Ps I have nearly finished my car, it started and ran fine, hopefully we can get it on the dyno thurs so i can drive it, i only took it to 4 grand and there was only 2psi boost.

I have 2 front strut braces to suit 32GTS skylines for sale. $125 I will have some rear ones for sale soon as well
-
There stuff is normally pretty good cont though. Thoses trust turbos are supposed to be a lot better than the VG in regard to lag and they are cheap to rebuild. You could look at getting your turbo highflowed with plain bearing, is a few hundred cheaper but a little extral lag.
-
yay injectors are in, fitted in no problems just needed to wire in new plugs. Meggala you can put that on your site so people will know in the future and wont be running aroung going mad looking for them at the last minuite.
-
For a twin setup you would want to run GTR turbos on a rb20 anything bigger would be too laggy. Joel JMS have a few turbos on their website that would suit you.

cheap R33 GTR used upgrade parts 4 Sale
Clint32 replied to a topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
How much do you want for the cat back exhaust if you have sold the front pipes. Will it fit a 32 GTR? -
Does anyone know if it matters which way the wires are connected to the injectors?
-
yeah but it is a bigger non-ballbearing turbo, the flange shape doesnt affect how the turbo spools ect.
-
I would be there for the soem filming depending when it is done, the car will have a few more HP so it should be fun.
-
Bad luck Joel, are you going to find another VG one or try and find something different. I will be able to tell you about the T04 in a few days:)
-
Unfortunately when it comes to modding a GTR nothing is cheap as it has to be specitally made to suit, so you will be looking at least $1500 for a upgraded cooler.
