pm answered Thanks Matt. Its a piece of porn but I prefer my HKS Kansai bar. As I have businesses in Japan I'm always bouncing back so if i change my mind at a later date i can always grab myself another one. At present its cluttering up our spare room which is full of Nismo body kit , rims and a few other bits and pieces .

Shinmoedake volcano is blowing its stack again. Its been going off and on for the last couple of months but shows that theres something definitely going on. Dai ichi #1 reactor I'm pretty sure was built by general electric and the others by the Japanese. Yep #3 has the more potent combo of plutonium & uranium. #2 I dont know but I think its the same as #3. Thing is the whole place is pretty old and has had accidents which has been swept under the carpet. The only good thing is the casing structure layers are extremely good but after massive explosions like they had today, hoe the hell are they getting close enough to examine them properly.

And latest on the f*kushima plant that according to the government isnt anything to worry about... Now number 2 reactor cooling isnt working and hydrogen gas is being produced. They are expecting the possibility of this one exploding as well.
-
Yep they lied through their teeth on that one and kept everyone in the dark and were useless with getting help to people and refused foreign aid. It was actually the Yakuza who opened their doors, helped out with food and water and supplies immediately after the earthquake. Even yesterday there were Japanese politicians denying there had been a possible meltdown whereas the government spokesman Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano had said in all probability there had been a meltdown. Thing is, in both sides of the government their is a very pro nuclear faction...it makes money and if the shit hits the fan the Japanese people will not want anymore reactors. The other thing is the f*kushima power station was 40 years old and was due to be decommissioned.

Hey Terry its 70% chance and they had 6.2 around 11am Japan time this morning. Doubt there will ever big a big one in or around Hokkaido as its on the outer edge of the fault line. Reactor 3 has gone boom and now measuring radiation fallout and anyone thats in the 20km zone has been told to stay indoors. Honestly knowing the bullshit the Japanese authorities feed the general public I wouldnt be surprised if its a lot worse than they are saying. Japan has a motto of what you dont know does not hurt you.

I've seen nothing in the media. I read the Japanese news most days and have seen bar just the NZ earthquake and the Japneses that lost their lives there. The thing is Japan shakes and rocks every single day. Theres at least one seismic event everyday. This one topped their seismic scale so it was big one. Sendai airport is under water

This will give you an idea of how many aftershocks are happening http://www.jma.go.jp...ocal_index.html NHK TV http://wwitv.com/tv_channels/6810.htm

Hey Loach good to here your ok.. I've got friends missing at the moment, cant contact them but hopefully went to higher ground. Was on the phone to a friend just after the big shock and they got hit by 10 aftershocks. We were talking when their office started shaking like shit and they bolted outside. He reckons biggest he's felt. Got hold of another Japanese friend who lives on the coast and they bolted to the mountains and said you could see the tsunami coming towards land. She reckons the tsunami sirens went off and people left asap but she reckons the tsunami came very quick after the shock.. Scary shit... Looks like its moving its way up the coast to Hokkaido. They reckon its 8.8 quake and largest in Japans recorded history. Loach hows the mobile service and internet... I cant get through to a lot of friends.. I reckon there will be a big casualty list on this one.

Arc International Has Filed For Bankruptcy
elrodeo666 replied to mxfly's topic in General Automotive Discussion
No it wont affect people who have imported cars and parts. Its just the big companies have had the monopoly of the market for quite some time and now Japans economy is stuffed people there dont have the money to spend like they used to. So along comes other companies who have a bit of brains and are selling parts a lot cheaper and take a big chunk of the market. There will still plenty of parts and hopefully some of the Japanese companies learn from this and change their ways before its too late. Honestly I think this just the tip of the iceberg with a few more companies to follow suit. I was told last week that Superior Auto Creative lodged for bankruptcy the same day as ARC and Zero Sports. Word is that Zero Sports might be bought out by another company but still waiting for confirmation on that. -

Just a bit more of heads up on the ARC debacle.. I was talking to a friend of mine who runs one of the largest Japanese wholesale parts companies in Japan and he was saying that the problem for ARC stemmed from the fact that customers were basically going elsewhere for parts. Japanese customers basically had lack of funds and were mainly turning to companies like HPI for their goods as they were cheaper and much more competitive than ARC. ARC didnt want to discount their products so have gone belly up. Typical Japanese companies stubborn way of thinking. Theres a possibility of seeing ARC back as a restructured company but not looking good at present. -
Was the biggest disappointment after buying my GTR. First time I hit the horn ( I use it a lot in Japan with the amount of idiots on the road) I wanted to crawl under a rock and hide. My misso's Jimmny's horn was way,way louder. Not anymore. Change of horn was my first mod. I always love winding up the staff in Super Autobacs with their air horn display. Bunch of horns all wired up with test buttons. Press them all at once and its a hell of noise and staff come running....sumimasen

Arc International Has Filed For Bankruptcy

The thing is from living in Asia and dealing with all the different countries the Japanese are just to complacent and even though the problem is right in front of their eyes they just wont believe and dont want to believe that their country is slowly sinking as a power house. They are slowly depleting their fish stocks, farming is going down the tubes as young people are leaving the country and flocking to the city. Japans changing, young people dont want to be robots like their parents and grandparents and work themselves to death. They are becoming lazy and lots of people now are happy just to work part-time. Lots are leaving Japan and heading to China to work as theres plenty of work for them and better quality of financial life. Honestly I think its the opposite with China. They are so hungry for money , development and status and I think as more and more people there are making money they will demand quality. The Japanese just cant compete with them as China is just exploding and has only just started. I've got a few friends who are involved with real estate in Japan, mainly in the ski areas and big business companies from China and Hong Kong are buying up big time in Japan and going for massive development. The difference between Japan and China is Japan has now 2 distinct classes..the poor or low income earners and the wealthy. China on the other hand has distinct 3. The poor / lower class , middle class and the wealthy and the thing with China is they are really into bolstering the middle class. China will definitely plateau out but its got a long way to go before then. I think you'll see China , Korea , Thailand and Singapore as thig monsters in Asia in the future and japan the little guy hoping for a few crumbs. And Chris as for Nissan...ha they are a joke.. Never have stock, well almost never. You have to wait for ages or like you said when and if they decide to do a production run. They are quite rude even to big workshops in Japan and they index their prices every 6 months with a 5% increase (10% annually) in other words they are a pack of arseholes.
