  1. Sweeeeet!!
  2. I like that 33 !! but wheres the pics of the candy???
  3. Not a customer car but the boys at the shop toy...It was getting over 600ps outta the standard block with single turbo but had every bolt on possible, they are building up new motor for it over winter here...I'll try get some pics of it next time I'm in the shop, hopefully over the weekend. Richard, better off going for a spin here in hokkaido/sapporo, theres some crazy illegal street dragging and drifting that goes on plus after you have Susukino..5000 bars/restaurants/soapland ..its crazy plus I know a hell of alot of kabba kuras ...
  4. It's interesting in that checking 1 car website here in Japan there are over 50 GTR's up for sale and I'd say there be a hell of alot more nation wide..Premiums in the high 7million yen..Few months back that would of been fair price in oz but current exchange rates thats around 130,000 just to buy let alone import plus taxes. From what I've seen here personally, theres a hell of alot of crew that have bought the GTR and modified them for weekend racing. I think its just the same addiction to power that all Skyline/GTr owners have ..that need/ want to go faster... Japans the same as anywhere finacially, if not worse, the strong yen is really hurting local businesses big time but the guys who have bought GTR's here are the same skyline nutters who loved the 32,33 & 34 and they are modifying them and throwing some hefty coin on them...modifications for them arent cheap. Even a set of snow tyres (mandatory where I am in winter) is 600,000yen (over $10,000 aussie at the mo) I've seen more modified 35's here than I have seen standard...wouldnt their warantee's be void! My biggest concern would be if I bought one here for myself and sent it back to oz..could I get the service that you would get in Japan..basically are nissan oz up to scratch..I think the guys who are doing the testing on the R35's in oz would have a far better idea than the local aussie nissan dealer.
  5. I'll be honest Richard..I watched your posts on your build and that inspired me to get mine done here. Initially I was going to go something similar but the speed bug bit and after driving some friends cars at the track decided to go the 2.8 way.. The guys at HKS keep badgering to go more power..easy for them its not their bloody money. I'm happy to go the twin setup for now..maybe later go the TO4Z or if and when I sell the car then new owner will have solid base to go for more power.
  6. Not alot to really update on this. Spent last sunday out at HKS just sorting out a few things and basically handing over coin. I did get to hang out in the workshop for awhile going over one of their drag cars..GTR33 pretty beastly looking machine. They were stripping the motor down for rebuild but I had the misso in tow so couldnt hang around for too long. But got to drop off the block to be sent off for machining and the 2.8 Step2 kit was ordered. Also ordered up a Hi Octane RB26 Weld on Sump Extension with Trap Doors Fitted and Modified Oil Pick Up. I want to try and use some parts from Oz to show the jap crew that aussies are making kick arse products too plus its hell of alot cheaper than the "brand" names here so save a bit of coin and spend elsewhere. I have to thank Kyle from Hi Octane for the speedy and informative email replys!! Look forward to seeing the 34 over here! Anyway we finalised the turbos to be 2350's for now but that could change but I think its the way to go plus definitely going the way of the V-cam system so should be pretty responsive car. Next thing is planning out the fuel system. All I can do now is wait until the parts start rocking up from HKS headquarters and I"ll start posting up some pics... keep ya posted.
  7. Hmmm.... With these guys producing shafts for a couple of Japanese tuning shops..e.g Trust etc you wonder how the heck they stay in business. The Japanese wouldnt accept late delivery, maybe once if it was a week or 2 max!! They just take their business elsewhere, regardless of the quality, plus I cant see them accepting a poor fit and spacer to be made. I'll have a suss over here about the fitting. It just seems a piss poor effort from them that some of us got shafts delivered and some of us well..excuse the pun...Got shafted!
  8. Yep..been a bit slow catching up on work etc and been busy as blue arse fly but here goes.. Ok as it turns out Mines and Top Secret didnt come up but there were 5 GTR's that came up from Honshu for the speed run including HKS Kansai, Garage Saurus , HKS Technical Workshop Tokyo plus 2 others I have to get the details as was pretty hungover when I went out and caught up with my mate Hiroyuki form HKS sapporo.. The weather was mild for this time of year..5-6c max and sunny all day, so they had great conditions. HKS Kansai had the fastest top speed for the day cracking 320kph with when you look at it , pretty mild mods and pretty much standard body . The others were around the 310kph mark. My mate got to take one for a run and was so impressed with the way the car stuck to the track and said it was brilliant to drive. Pretty impressive when you think what it costs in mods to get a 32,33 or 34 up to these speeds. Anyway this is all 2nd hand from my mate as it was a closed track but there will be a DVD and magazine spread from Option coming out in Jan next year sometime..
  9. What sort of Plenum is it?? Who makes it??
  10. I'm getting a 2.8 engine build done by HKS here in Sapporo and got a call from one of the guys to see if I could come out today. I was supposed to go out yesterday to discuss the build but had to change that to this sunday, so thinking this was just going to be disccusion on the build etc I headed out about 2pm. Well, what can I say but WOW...!! It turns out that the owner of Option magazine in Japan has organized a high speed 300kph over test run of the GTR35 with a few of Japans top Tuners. Supposedly there are 5 cars coming for the test, the ones that are already here are HKS Kansai, Garage Saurus another shop from Tokyo (cant rember their name as too excited) supposedly Top Secret and Mines are coming as well. Its going to be a magazine and option Dvd shoot for editions early next year so keep your eyes out for it. The owner of Option is going to be doing alot of the driving and is supposed to be famous high speed test driver. The track is out on the south eastern part of Hokkaido near place called Mukawa and is oval banked high speed course. They chose here as they beleive the cool/cold temps here will be good for max high speed test. We have had a warmish week with lots of snow melting and forecast is for fine cold day so hopefully things will be perfect. I got to hang around for couple of hours while they put white 35 on the dyno for tuning and power test...Where are the pics you ask..well I tried but was told it therewas absolute no chance of pics and tomorrows test is closed track except for tuners and option crew only. The car being tuned was from the garage I cant rember the name but what I could find out was, there were few mods with after market exhaust, turbo boost mod and few tweaks on computer management. To be honest it would of been easier getting blood out of a stone than prying info from these guys but I can tell you this car was consistenly putting out 610ps run after run and the engine and exhaust soon was bloody awesome. My mate at HKS is cheif mechanic/manager at HKS Sapporo and said he will give me an update on it all this sunday. All I can say it was big buzz to see this car being tuned and cant wait to here how tomorrow goes.
  11. No-one with any pics?? Just need pics of whiteline parts fr jap tuner to check on installation!!
  12. I'm after pics of Sydney kids GTR33 whiteline kit install for Japanese tuner mate of mine who is installing parts in my car and would like to see pics of an install.. Mainly Caster adj kit-radius rod bush and rear Camber adj kit - uppr c/arm any help be great!
  13. Hey Richard cheers for the input...in all honesty I think they have got a bit carried away with the recco of 2835's. I got 3 pages of parts and honestly couldnt be bothered last night translating it all, but oil cooler and after market oil pan was on the list plus if we did use the 2835's then going up size injectors was the plan. I'm pretty happy and so would my bank account, to go the 2530's..plenty of power and with the v-cam shouldnt have much lag if at all, plus saving ¥400,000 would be better spent over hauling the gearbox. Parts and some head work will be done by these guys http://www.naprec.co.jp/e/product/n_rb26/hrk_rb26.html plus will get the once over at HKS.. My biggest concern was not to over spend as with the deprication of aussie dollar I think it would be hard to make any money back on the re-sale. I'm not after profit, breaking even would be sweet, just want to sell someone a well put together and quick and responsive car. Andrew..boys are green with envy over the price of the tailshaft!! I think its HRD that get them made by ACPT..I wonder if they have any probs with fittments... Anyway I should be back there thurs to go thru things once again and drop a few bits and pieces off and hopefully get some more pics. As for price of all this looking somewhere at ¥4,000,000..I dont want to try convert it to aussie coin!! Price should come down with different turbo setup plus I can get alot parts here with good discount thru a mayes shop. Plus also be hunting down some parts from Oz as the rates great!!..After an oil pump if anyone has one let me know.. anyways ..keep ya posted!! By the way if I stop posting here it means my misso has found how how much the build will be and i would be...aarrh..dead!!
  14. If you read the link to previous post you will know whats going on to do... But last saturday I spent the day at HKS here at Sapporo..I ended up getting to test 2 cars with V-cam setup..the GTR34 thatbthey had hooked up and by chance another customer with R32 700PS single setup.. I was lucky because we had a fairly solid dump of snow mid week with on and off snowing and sub zero temps but dya temps were enough to melt highway snow and with no ice I got to give these cars a good run. Have to say the V-cam is pretty impressive. The 34 was running around the 600ps mark and at idle was no different to my 33 but plant the foot and power comes on so quick and right thru the rev range, it was pure joy to drive. I totally understand what Beer Baron was on about..totally addictive to drive. The 32 had stupid amounts of torque but the drive was abruptly stopped by highway patrol but before they shut us down I at least got some sort of feel for the beast.. We got back to the workshop just in time to see bright red GTR35 being parkd in the car park after having speed limeter bt passed and snow tyres fitted..F#@k I know the 35 is great looking car but the additional expenses that go with just buying the car are pretty heavy. A new set of snow tyres for it were ¥600,000 (9,870 aussie) you got to have a big wallet. Anyway after all the fun it was time to sit down with the boys and work out a plan for the build..so heres the some of parts below... N1 R34 block HKS Step 2 2.8 kit HKS Twin SFTK GT 2835 Turbos Naprec Head Tune (stage 2) Step 2 Valve guides Tomei Oil Galeery Orifice( going off jap translation) Endless Plenum (http://www.endless-r.co.jp/pe-ji/orijinaru/gtr_saji1.jpg) HKS 680cc injectors HKS 264 intake HKS Fuel delivery rail HKS high power oil pump Nismo N1 Water Pump Samco hoses Kyoyo Aluminum radiator HKS V-cam B system etc.........I'll scan the final plan and post later but all in ping pong.. Still to go in ..Carbon single tailshaft (sorry andrew they want to to 2 dyno runs one before and after as they do the work) They want to run surge tank and fuel fuel pump and delivery system as well but I"m not sure if this legal in Oz or if the car would pass inspection with this fuel setup..Any help/info here would be great as not sure on what the legality is.. Also I'm not that convinced on Turbo choice..I'd be happy with the GT 2530's as the others are extra ¥400,000plus but they want to go that way is they reckon it would be super torquey motor..Any input here would be appreciated. I think the GT 2350 with the V-cam and head work and 2.8 would be pretty good package. With the exchange rate as is I'm looking to buy some parts outta of oz to save a little bit of coin. I'm in no rush for the build as were about to hit winter and the car will be off the road (dont drive it here because of the amount of snow, but have to admit its like a pig in shit..handles better than anything I have driven in the snow) Anyway I'm back at HKS on friday to have a yak again so will take pics and post later..
  15. I've started new post here..... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Hk...il-t246240.html
  16. HKS here in Japan are doing my engine build and other mods ..Aimimg for basically an easy safe 600PS I started another post before asking for help and input,,its link is here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/28...ed-t242358.html Anyway over the next couple of months I will be posting details of the build plus pics and video. HKS themselves will be putting together a CD of pics as the car will be sent to OZ sometime next year as a private import and will be up for sale so I will have full history of pics and paper work for the potential buyer..plus they will have a soild base to go on if they want more power Also any imput and advice along the way would be much appreciated..
  17. Put me down ...gotta save some coin for engine build as got a first draft parts bill and nearly died!!
  18. I'm interested for set for Rb26
  19. YEP...Candy how sweet it is!
  20. Hey Richard.. cheers for the info fella..Thats given me the green light to go the hack. As far as what state, I'm not sure but it will be either Thirroull or the Goldy. As for coming to Sappy you should do it, the girls here are the finest in japan plus I know some great kabba kuras, susukino is famous japan wide for its sleaze. Theres pretty good car scene here as well with illegal street dragging and drifting pretty common on sat nights..plus a few race tracks not too far away. Winter is as picturesque as you can get in Japan but bloody cold but thats what nomi/tabi hodai is for...summer just rocks especially the month long beer festival in the city centre odori park. I'm looking forward to driving the 34 this sat as the boys at HKS said I will be definitely be impressed with how the V-cam works. I just hope the snow melts as we had a good 30-50cm last night and roads are real slippery and evil. Been hooking around in my wifes Jimmny drifting all over the place today, a hell of alot of the time not by choice. So hopefully conditions will be good to really see how it runs. Then its just working out the money side of things and the ball will start rolling.. Thanks again for the input and advice..
  21. Honeymoon period is the perfect quote!! The longer you stay the more it becomes a love hate relationship but one thing never ever changes...The Candy..always new and fresh!!
  22. Akeen....dont get me started on the rascism in this flamin mongrelry!! But your right, real estate is where its worst!! My last experience was with getting a new car park!! There were 2 ..one across the road (ideall) and the other 50 metres up the road. The one across the road was all sweet untill the co. rang back saying the old bugger owner doesnt want to lease to a foreign heathen. I said I'll pay 6 months cash up fron but to no evail. I talked to a jap friend of mine who happens to be pretty solid yakuza and he said he would sort it..I rand the company and said if the old fella was that rascsit and didnt want a foreign devil well that was sweet, the car park up the road would take my yen..2 days later I got phone call from the racist owner saying he was sorry and he would be more than happy for me to park my car on his land, actually he went as far as it would be an honour. I was a bit bamboozled by his change of attitude but it didnt click until the company that rented the space for the old bloke came to my house explained that my friend had come to their office, demanded the old fellas address and had gone to see to him to ...subtley persuade him I would be a honour for me to park my gtr on his land and it would be in his best interest if he did so.. For the amount of times of predjudice and crap that I have gone thru in this country it was a great satisfaction to finally get a win...the crazy thing is that all the other people that park their cars there love me because I snow clear the place..They bring me cakes, wine, sweets and invite me to their bbq's ....
  23. I would've stopped and pretended I had a flat tyre!!
  24. I spent all of last sunday out at HKS working with the guys on a plan for the build up for motor and car and been flat out since so havent had a chance to get back on this. Yep beer Baron we talked heaps about the V Cam setup and cam setups and head work..They have lined me up with similar power output GTR34 to go for a drive in this saturday to have a suss.. Basically the guys were reccomending a cam setup of inlet 272°and outlet of 264° and exhaust of 264° to match the Step 2 (2.8) setup and HKS 2530s turbos. The only concern they have is that Japan has cracked down on its emissions test and they reckon this would be 50/50 on a pass but also Torque wouldnt hit in until 3500rpm.. The emissions for rego here is no probs as still plenty of guys here where the old slab on the back seat works magic. Serious side, getting it passed is no probs as my last (shakken) rego I was running straight thru pipe instead of high flow cat and passed sweet as thru my mates tuner shop. By the way high flow Hks cat now installed. My biggest concern and theirs too, is if the car is being sent to Oz would it pass inspection with this setup. It is definitely going to be private import, I have even gone to the extent of limiting hold to only 3 weeks ouuta the kuntry in the last 18 months to make sure it gets in. I dont wanna sentd it all modified then go thru the bullshit of having everything changed back for compliance. If that does happen I have kept everything that has been taken off just in case.. Anyway back to crux of the story..So this is where the VCam got thrown about. They reckon it rocks. The main mechanic was saying basically they use a cam of 248° intake or about that, cant remember..and exhaust 264°. The intake gives a pretty standard idle and will pass emissoinds with flying colours but hit 2-2500 revs and the Torque kicks in like a mule and climbs and stays right thru the rev range where as the 270/264 setup will peak and then dropp off and the high rev end.. Yep its extra 4,500 - 5000 grand but sounds the go. I want a real torquey car to drive and trying to build a package that when the car sells the potential buyer has a real wicked little munster under the pedal but is still sweet to drive around town. They were recomending Vcam Step B for this build, there seems to be a few different types and go up over the 6k mark. What I'm wondering is anyone in Oz using these ??? If so how are they finding them. They really seem to be the dutch guts over here but being pretty exxy not alot of crew have the setup. As for motor etc I'm back out at HKS on saturday for test drive and then go thru everything I'll need to get for the build and then hand over chunk of coin and order up the parts. Its pretty interesting here in japan in the fact of doiung a build like this they want to go thru every little detail with you before I can give them the block. Where as in oz it would be drop the block off , give some coin and order some parts and let the build begin.. Here its done the japanese way and defintiely as spending a chunk of coin your treated with f*kk japanese respect/kata.. Anyway what I'm going to do is start a separate post for the build with pics, write up and vids..boys at HKS are sweet with this..but I'd like to keep this thread going for any info on the VCAM... I'd be more tham happy for any input or reccomendations from people on the build here or on new post when I start it next week, I'd really appreciate the input... cheers.. p.s pics soon
  25. Sorry bit slow with feed back... Well my tuner plus guys at HKS have both had a look and either cant hear or feel the noise and cant pinpoint it to anything. I changed my wheels the other 2 days ago tp put my snow wheels/tyres on for winter and had a good suss. The only thing I could find is the right rear has slight play when rotated hub back and forth so maybe there is slack in the pre-load. As far as oil in the diff not 100% but Nismo changed it when I bought the car 1 year ago so reckon they put the good stuff in. They did full check on the car before I bought it. I know the guys at HKS here pretty well and they are building me motor and doing heap of work so we're going on the basis if it blows we'll replace it. The motor will be built and tuned for around an easy 600ps and could easily pushed for alot more. The drive train hopefully will be built to be bullet proof. I"ll be posting up the build elsewhere as well as impending divorce when the misso sees how much it will all cost!!
