Your lucky matt...my build started late Nov last year and still counting. I'm looking at getting the head back by 10th july and least then things will start happening. Bottom end has been sitting and waiting at least 2 months now. How did you go sourcing the turbos from the States??

Sorry bloke cant help u I'm just chasing parts up over here in Japan to bring back later in the year. Missed out on grabbing those rims, they were brand spanking new, collecting dust on the shelf and I should of bought them then and there but waited a few days and they were gone..

Ok this will probably open a can of worms and get latent abuse of the jap system but if you are staying more than 15 days in Japan you can apply for a Alien card. I've done before when err..had no visa and was doing the old visa hop. You just need an address. I even registered a company and got bank account. You just tell them your here buying a car and need the card for all the paper work. On the back it will have in ping pong that it is a temporay card so you wont be able to get on a phone co. plan but you can get pre-paid..

Honestly... I dont know...Just going off what HKS tuners are saying. All I know there is a guy in WA running the Power PC and is having issues sorting it out and also the poms have had dramas.. I'll be out there next week so will ask.. any updates Matt

How many people are running them with Power FC in oz?? I'm only going on what they are saying here but hey the japs have tunnel vision but the only thing I would say is my mate who is head Tuner at HKS here reckons it will be a pain in the arse. Reckons the HKS Vcam programming wont run smoothly with another brand head unit... He definitely isnt true to HKS when it comes to peformance as always recommends whatever brand product is best to use... Anyway I'm interested to see how this all pans out cause if its sweet I'll get the V cam thrown in before I head back to Oz..

Dont mean to do a thread hijack I'm in the same boat..once I made the decision to go the -5's and ordered them up, been waiting a good month or so and looks like awhile yet. Glad my head is taking forever and everything is at standstill. If you want to spend some coin, most guys here running the V Cam go the HKS HKS 2835's with the and 248 In /274 Ex... they are beasts to drive, absolute weapons but pretty exxy.. I could get you bit of a discount thru HKS if your keen. I initially had this plan but went the -5's as was just after something near the 600-650ps margin. The HKS 2835's and V Cam would be easy 700+ps. The ones I have test driven have been 700 to 800ps.. What computer unit you going to run. Reason being there is another bloke in WA dunning Apex Pc and having major dramas. I had a talk with tuning maestros guys at HKS and they reckon anything other than Fcon Vpro and mdel before you will be pushing shit up hill..its doable but you will have a hard time trying to sort it out. Its typical HKS, all their stuff is made to run hand in hand and not with the competition. I'm trying to suss some tuners in oz who would put up their garages for a week or 2 while my mate comes out and does some tuning but there is the whole political side with HKS to work out yet. Right now its an idea but we've put it on the table here and see what happens. This was a GTR33 that had limeted edition V Cam

I know it will be pain in the arse but get a leather report, all your correspondence with Nissan Australia, pay it to get it translated into Japanese and send it to Nissan Japan. There is no way in hell a japanese customer would get treated like that or stand for quality like that. Those seat would have been changed on a blink of an eye over here. They wouldnt want the bad PR.. Give it a go you never know your luck.

I was in Oz last year and iphone was sweet there and have been bouncing to Korea and Tawain this year and global roaming sweet as there too so you should have no problems here but turn off Location and Data roaming otherwise you will be up for a fortune. When I'm o/seas I just turn data roam on to download mail and then switch it off. Trust me , I did trip to Oz and got stung ￥150,000 for a months bill. I used my phone like I do here and got caned!! Wifire is everywhere, some fre some not. Usually pretty cheap if you have to pay. Find a internet cafe and you'll be sweet if you need alot of internet access and chat up the candy while your there, you never know your luck!

What turbo/ 's are you going to use ? Interested to know as I have similar 2.8 build being done here in Japan by HKS. They were reccomending HKS 2830's with the V Cam and 2248/274 cam combo. Supposed to idle pretty standard but boost comes on real early and pulls all the way to top RPM..I went for drive in one of their customers gtr and was bloody impressive. Mines at a stand still at the moment, still waiting for head to come back from the NAPREC

Cheers Terry I could have got a set brand new for about $2k aussie through mate at HKS as they have big discount on all there rims in stock but bloody customer (bastard) beat me to it. As they say..you snooze you lose ! They got heap of other rims/brands and I'm moving back to Oz for a year around nov/dec and have a container of stuff going so thought I'd buy up some bargains!

Piggaz.. Can you shed some light on the info you got! Was your box new or 2nd hand and you did o/haul I'm looking at new OS 5spd with uprated input or possibly going the Auto Gallery Yokohama box..HKS boys here reckon the AG Yokohana is slightky better and smoother box Hows the new shaft going??

Yeah the ones above the intercooler mesh and either side of the number plate if that makes sense. They are'nt a solid one piece as have lip and can get them to move a little. Mate at HKS said just undo bolt underneath the vent and they should come out but they dont budge!! Dont know if they are glued in... I have a set of carbon vents that I want to put in my front bar. Have tried removing the original vents but for the life of me I cant work out how to do it. Do I have to remove the front bar odr is it a matter of undoing the nut under the vent and using brute force to pry it out ??? I want to remove the vents either side of number plate and replace with the carbon ones I have.. Any help appreciated.

Magic words !! Nomitabihodai!! Usually around the 2-2500 yen mark at an izakaya. Most are around 90min -3 hour all you can eat and drink. Theres some that are cheaper some more exxy but thats pretty much an average price and for any normal aussie beer pig thats cheap as chips!
