Awwwww, shucks [waits for applause] I've known the spare parts manager at FTG Nissan for the best part of 15 years...he actually appreciates the time saving. I'm to the stage that I can order parts over the phone.....but then I've bought a LOT of parts over those years.

I didn't think S2 started in 1996 ??, but anyway FAST gives: 32861-01G00 Bush, Control Lever
-
Bearing specialists have books that cross reference car manufacturers PN's for bearings with common bearing manufacturers PN's. FAST can be used to give the correct Nissan PN for the wheel bearings in your car, then it's just a matter of ringing a few bearing places to see if they have a listing.
-
As has been suggested, can be bought from any Nissan dealer. I just got one for a GTR....cost $5 If you want to post the car model and year I can look up the PN in FAST - saves a lot of time when you go to a dealer.

Child pionts in a Aussie GTR?
SteveL replied to FLO's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
My GTR went through compliance in October. The child restraint anchor points were installed in the parcel shelf directly behind each speaker. They didn't remove or interfere with my factory speakers. The entire installation was actually done from inside the boot - three holes drilled for each anchor which are pop-riveted in place using 2 of the holes. Ronin 09 has an Oz delivered R32 GTR so PM him about the brake light. In my case they used an aftermarket Hella unit and it looks fine, AFAIC. My car has Apexi pods and they didn't give them a second look - they're not an engineering issue. Exhaust could be a problem for 2 reasons: - if it's too loud the engineer may not pass it (engineer dependant) - replacing the cat is part of the compliance process and the cost is included in compliance charge. But the cat that is included is to suit a standard exhaust. If you have a big exhaust this creates a problem because getting a standard cat to fit is a headache + a performance restriction. In my case the engineer allowed me to fit a 3" high-flow (which I paid an exhaust shop to do), but gave me a discount for not fitting the standard cat. -
Which RB's use the Z442 filter?
SteveL replied to Remix-'s topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
According to the Ryco on-line cat: RB25DE,RB25DET,RB25E 6Cyl 2.5L EFI & Turbo, 11/98-> present -
The seals should be replaced if the job is done properly, plus the receiver-dryer (the old one is probably that little bottle you mention) and they change the oil in the pump. Hoses don't usually need changing if they are in good nick. You are looking at about $250 - that was what I was quoted, but my car came into the country charged with R12 and still cleared customs. Not a word from DEH.....yet (knock on wood ). I use a mob called Kar Air in Ferntree Gully, but that's probably a bit far for you.

Those that got Rafael's e-mail will now know there is some doubt whether these kits will fit an R32 GTR. I've indicated that I'm not prepared to continue with my purchase unless it can be confirmed that it will fit without problems - is there someone in Brisbane with an R32 GTR and who is planning to buy that can get the situation confirmed one way or another ??. With the number planning to purchase I don't see why one or two dropping out should make any difference to the final price. Good Luck.

Import Approval in 7 days
SteveL replied to Blitz's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
congrats....they all want to clear their desks before christmas hols, LOL -
Per sub, would like to get hold of a front LH drive shaft in good nick (intact boots, etc)....would take a RH one as well if the price is right If R33 GTR is the same would take those. Also after: - pair of front brake ducts (1 each side behind front lip). - pair of inner door handles and surrounds (grey) - black plastic trim that contains the standard digital clock (don't need the clock)

R32 GTR Wheels and stuff for sale...
SteveL replied to Stirlo_GTR's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
PM re the front bar. -
As far as I can tell your petition is almost a word-for-word copy of info that was published on the Prestige Motorsport web site in January this year. The regulation impact statement mentioned has been considered and more recent info indicates that a decision has already been made by DOTARS...it's just a question of an announcement being made. I commend your effort, but I strongly suspect the 15yo rule as we know it has left the building (or will have as of 1/1/2005).

Dealer admits truth about Japanese klm's.
SteveL replied to a topic in General Automotive Discussion
The e-mail speaks for itself, and it says a lot more than just about odo's. As for opinions...your a dealer (your public profile says 'vehicle importer', same thing AFAIC), so that makes you totally objective doesn't it..... As for my statement....I stand by it, as would any consumer advocate, so build a bridge..... -
Dealer admits truth about Japanese klm's.
SteveL replied to a topic in General Automotive Discussion
The e-mail reads exactlly like you'd expect from one dealer arguing they're better than any other dealer......at the end of they day they're all just used car salesmen, caveat emptor, 'nuff said. -
R34 GTR VpecII sump baffles, have nissan fix the problem
SteveL replied to OZ GTR35's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Don't know if this helps, but according to the Nissan FAST (parts) software all R34 GTR's have the same sump baffles (ie VspecII have nothing special in that area). -
FS: 04/90 R32 GTR in Japan $12,000
SteveL replied to oRiCLe's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Ken, the OP says the car was purchased privately.... -
Interested in one for an R32 GTR. A question: on the website listed at the bottom of your post it shows the price for a short shifter for an R32 or R33 as $145 - is that for one kit ?? It's just that I would have thought the price for 5 would be less than the price for one.....
-
Mine is mounted in front of the aircon condensor next to the aircon receiver dryer (drivers side of the bonnet latch). It's a tight fit but mine is not a 16 row - total measurements of the oil cooler on my car is about 250mm long by about 140mm deep and 50mm thick. There's no way anything larger would fit. The cooler already came fitted to my car when I bought it (recently came in from Japan) and it also has the GREX oil filter re-locator kit. To fit the cooler they also had to re-mount the power steering cooler. I'm not greatly happy with the job they did, so I took the front bar off to see if I could move it elsewhere, but there is nowhere else unless I buy a smaller oil cooler.....

That's the guy that supplied my car (89 GTR). It went on the boat in mid-September and arrived in Melbourne early October. Can't understand why you are having such problems. My car has turned out to be a bargain so I've got no complaints. Hope your luck improves.

I'll take the PS pump if HICAS type and climate control. Check your PM.
-
After a pair of ducts in good condition. There's one one each side just behind the lower lip (where the holes are).

do R32 skylines have a knock sensor
SteveL replied to mrfrontmount's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yes they do. Just take it easy until you can get some premium. -
I think funky is asking whether these include things like the R32 GTR workshop manual which is readily available for download in electronic format (pdf).
-
Yes, upper and lower control arms, with separate shock absorbers and springs (coilovers, if you like - personally I would argue that macpherson struts are 'coil over', but anyway......) I don't know much about cef's, but I'd guess they have similar suspension to HR31 Skylines - meggala would be the best to ask.
-
R32's do not have struts as such, but have multi-link suspension. Your bluebird has macpherson struts as do S13's. The 2 types are totally different designs with no interchangeable suspension parts. Your best bet would be to try to get hold of some import HR31 turbo struts which might do the job, but I suspect they are v similar to the S13 type.
