Hey guys,
Recently my fuel pump died & the mechanic replaced it with a Bosch in-tank pump, seeing how it was cheaper compared to OEM Nissian pumps.
When I went to pick up the car, he mention something about, I should try & keep the tank 1/2 full, something about the pump being submerged in fuel to help it in cooling, where if I let the fuel level too low & the pump is exposed too much it may overheat?
Does this sound right? If it were true does that mean I have effectively crippled my millage range down to 1/2?
I usually fuel up when I'm at the 1/4 mark. Would this cause the pump to overheat & thus damaging it?
The people with Bosch in-tank pumps, what are your thoughts on this? Do you keep your tank >1/2 full all the time?
Cheers.
